** In a foster home; please call 812-349-3492 or email herre@bloomington.in.gov for more information**This sweet little wallflower is looking for a BFF that can hold her paw and show her the gentle kindness and patience that she needs while she learns to navigate this big, scary world. Dolly is slowly learning about all the great things she can do, and people she can meet when she leans into her curiosity, and a little love goes a long way! Dolly would love to have a calm and quiet home where she can open up and be herself, in her own time. Once she knows that you're her person, she gives all the love that her little body can hold, and is happiest when she's right at your side, snuggled up in your arms. Dolly cant wait to melt your heart and let you know that just like her namesake, she will always love you! Dolly will do best in a home with another dog.

Story
Hudson is a 13-year-old hound with a gentle heart and a soulful presence. He’s a loving, kind boy who enjoys belly rubs, quiet companionship, and lounging in his favorite spots. He also has a playful side and loves to run, so a home with space to explore would make him happy. Hudson does well around other dogs in open, outdoor settings, but would likely thrive as the only dog or with a calm companion. He does best in a peaceful home where he can relax. He may have mild seasonal allergies but responds well to extra care. He knows basic commands, though like many hounds, he listens best when he feels like it—or for treats. He enjoys stuffed toys, howls with trains, and sleeps well through the night. Hudson is being rehomed due to changes in family circumstances and deserves a home that can give him the time, space, and calm he needs.

Story
Parker is a shy, gentle 13-year-old hound with a sweet and sensitive nature. He loves to be near his person, often resting quietly nearby while you work or relax. He’s snuggly, kind, and has a calm, comforting presence, with a playful side that comes out when he feels at ease. Parker is very smart and listens well. He enjoys walks, car rides, and spending time outdoors—especially sunbathing in warm weather. He does well with familiar dogs in open spaces but can be hesitant around new dogs and would likely thrive as the only dog in a calm home. As a hound, he has a bit of independence, but he bonds deeply and loves being part of your daily rhythm. Parker is being rehomed due to changes in family circumstances and deserves a peaceful home where he can feel safe, loved, and settled.

Story
Toby AKA Toblerone, Tobes Malone is a Courtesy Listing and is not housed at the Animal Shelter. Please note that the City of Bloomington Animal Care & Control accepts no responsibility for this pet. Potential adopters are responsible for communicating directly with the pet's guardian.Toby would do well as a hunting dog with room to run, an outside kennel, or inside with lots of outside running time. Sees the world with his nose so he is an aggressive sniffer. He is very big, so beware around small children, he still jumps and is very playful. He lets you know with his deep voice and front paws. Pros: Smart Semi trained to: Sit, stay, give paw (although does not like paws to be touched) come, get back (make room) lay down. Can be trained to hunt and find things. One sniff of an object and he can find the other half very quickly! Has been trained to find the socks of our children over acres of land. Semi-trained to “drop it” usually will drop it if you tell him he's a good boy FIRST since he is part retriever. He will whine or signal at the door if he needs to go out. He cannot hold it very well, so this needs to be prompt or else you’ll have a pile to clean up. You can ask him, “out?” and he will tell you by standing by the door. Sometimes hes just getting your attention to play, so he’ll go for a toy and bring it to you. Very playful. He likes to fetch the ball, retrieve sticks, run with you (just to play, not like a running hobby) He plays with a tug rope and likes to rip up boxes, (do not let him keep the cardboard or he will eat it) He likes to play keep-away with ripped up parts. Sometimes he throws them up in the air himself and catches them. He likes to play hide and seek with snacks or people in the house. He seems to do well with cats. We have two that come in the house and he just likes to sniff them. We have an elderly dog he likes to play with but elder dog does not always play back. Sometimes Toby likes to try and hump elder dog. Loves to play in water or the hose. If you point to the ground and say “bug” he is curious and comes to see the bug. (not always good if your pointing out a bad bug to somebody and he notices) If you say “boops” and hold out your pointer finger, you can move his upper lip up and show his cute teeth. Point to his tail and say, “get your tail” he’ll try to bite his tail. After every trick and command he obeys I give him baby carrots or cut carrots, unsalted cashews, bits of meat, or bits of boiled egg. Cons: These are all things I’m sure can be corrected with consistent training. *Still has trouble jumping on people. *Will chase squirrels, cats (when running), birds and leaves blown in the wind. BE CAREFUL taking him on walks, since he will absolutely drag you with the leash if he wants to chase leaves. *Since he is smart, he is sneaky… he will wait for you to be gone to snag things on tables (dish towels, hair accessories, gloves, hats) or go through trash. Speaking of which, Bloodhounds will eat ANYTHING, so please be on guard. He will eat any poop he finds. *He still pees if excited. He has anxiety when you come home or leave so there will be lots of barking and howling. *Sometimes when he takes something, he will be submissive and roll to his belly but he will not give up the object. Sometimes he will give it up right away. Depends on the object. *When taken on walks he wears a harness. When you take the harness off, sometimes he goes for your face with a nip or a hard “boop” with his nose and mouth. *If you put him behind a baby gate in your house, he might try to nip your knuckles. He does not seem aggressive, just big and heavy, strong and can be possessive, as is expected with his breed. Once behind the gate he will protest with whines and garbles. Take note: Does not allow you to touch the belly,(that means no belly rubs) inside thighs or paws. We were instructed by a former bloodhound trainer from the Putnamville prison that the skin condition is normal in bloodhounds and is treated with cornstarch. We have tried olive oil and a cone to restrict licking but it doesn’t always stay on. His paws become cracked in the winter. He is still very protective with his bone. He will growl and snap. He has bad eyesight. If something in the distance looks unfamiliar, he will growl and bark. . Diet: Taste of the Wild 1 ½ cups 3 times a day Snacks include Carrots, eggs, peanutbutter He may be hesitant to eat in a new place or around things that creak and move. In an open area you can point to the food and say “eat” or “go ahead” Otherwise I give the commands, SIT, STAY, and then GO AHEAD and point to the food so he knows its his and its time to eat. Adding tuna water from canned tuna helps. If you would like to inquire into adopting this pet, PLEASE EMAIL jenellewheeler47@gmail.com***Please contact the owner directly***
