Story
🚨 ALPINE IS ONLY A BABY… AND HE’S RUNNING OUT OF TIME 🚨 At just 1½ years old, Alpine should be planning a lifetime of adventures—not fighting for his life in a shelter. This handsome young hound was found repeatedly running loose and chasing cars, seemingly searching for the family he loved. Day after day, he kept looking for someone who never came back for him. Yet somehow, Alpine’s heart remains wide open. The moment you meet him, he leans into your affection and gently places his paws on your chest, as if asking, “Will you be my person?” He absolutely loves people, walks beautifully on a leash, and wants nothing more than to be close to someone who loves him. 💔 He’s still just a young dog. 💔 He’s done nothing wrong. 💔 He’s loving, affectionate, and full of life. 💔 Yet his time is running out. Alpine doesn’t belong in a shelter kennel. He belongs on hiking trails, curled up on the couch, riding shotgun on car rides, and falling asleep knowing he’s finally safe. Every day he waits is another day closer to losing the future Please don’t let this sweet boy’s story end before it truly begins. Alpine has so much love left to give—he just needs someone willing to save him. PLEASE HELP HIM TEXT KAREN 4136298152

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   *This is a courtesy posting. Harlan is not at DPR, but his current owner asked us to help find him a great home!* Meet Harlan – A Sweet, Spirited Hound Looking for His Perfect Home Harlan is a 3-year-old hound mix with a heart as big as his nose! His Wisdom Panel DNA results reveal a rich hound heritage—53% American Foxhound, 26% Plott Hound, 19% Treeing Walker Coonhound, and a touch of Bluetick Coonhound—so it’s no surprise that he has a strong prey drive and a passion for following scents wherever they lead. Originally rescued after being abandoned on the side of the road, Harlan has blossomed into a loving, energetic companion. He adores being outdoors and lives for long walks, sniffing adventures, and any opportunity to use his hound instincts. He’s happiest when he has a job to do or space to roam, making him a great fit for an active household with land, a secure yard, or even a family who enjoys hunting or has experience with working breeds. Harlan is:  Up to date on all vaccinations  Neutered  Paperwork in hand  House-trained and eager to please  Best suited for someone experienced with strong, active dogs While Harlan is deeply affectionate and eager for companionship, he’s not the best fit for homes without secure fencing or those with limited mobility. His enthusiasm for tracking means he can be a strong puller on walks—even with training tools—and needs someone who can manage his strength and give him the stimulation he craves. We love Harlan dearly, but due to serious health challenges in our family and the lack of a secure yard, we know we’re no longer the right home for him. Our greatest hope is to find someone who sees his potential and can give him the life he deserves: safe, stimulating, and full of love.  If you have room in your home—and heart—for a smart, loving hound ready for his next adventure, please reach out. We’re happy to share more about his personality and history. Helping Harlan find his forever home would mean the world to us.  If you are interested in adopting, pleas fill out a 'Dog Adoption Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 9, 2026, 11:30 am

Story
Meet BAM! Bam is now 2 years, 2 months old and 62 lbs. He was abandoned in McKenzie, TN at a rental property. HOW HORRID! He had much higher energy back in Feb 2023. But with an AMAZING, dedicated foster Mom...Bam has established a regular exercise routine and he has nicely smoothed out his energy now. Bam's 'thing' is his georgeous blue eyes. They look like jewels glistening at ya! I did the breed app check. And if shows mostly American Fox Hound with mix of Louisianna Catahoula Leopard. I'm going with it as his breed has had us puzzled. Bam is great with all the dogs in his foster home...of both genders, all ages, and various breeds. He is good on leash, rides well, crates & house trained.
