She can be shy with new people and new situations but she warms up quickly and once you are bonded, she’ll rarely leave your side. Libra is a smart girl who is doing well with her potty-training, and her obedience and manners training. Though she will need somebody to continue to work with her as a lot of this is new. Her two favorite things are toys and getting as close to her person as possible. She would be a perfect fit for an active person or family who have the patience and love to give to her. https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptionsApril 25, 2024, 10:14 pm

Story
This delightful little girl is looking to find that forever family she has always dreamed of. Dixie came to the shelter as an owner surrender because she was barking too much. From what we have seen at the shelter if her needs are not being met or she is scared of something she will just let you know. She is your typical little girl hound, she doesn't stop moving but she loves to play with other dogs. She has a very sweet playstyle and will do well in a home with a male companion that is playful, and willing to show her the ropes of what real life is like.Dixie is a little shy when she meets new people but give her about 10-15 minutes and she will be your best friend in no time. Her small size makes her a great dog for that family that is looking for a medium size dog. She is only about 32lbs. From what we can gather she is about 9 months old and has already found her way through 4 homes. Let's make this Dixie's last stop where she can find a forever home that is going to be committed to this little girl for her life. She already walks great on a leash. She likes to play a little fetch, but is also happy just running around sniffing like hounds do. We don't know what she is going to be like with cats, but if she is true to her breed she will more than likely want to chase. This little girl isn't going to be a couch potato, she is going to need daily exercise both mentally and physically. If you are interested in meeting Dixie we ask that you please email adoption@columbiahumane.org in order to obtain an adoption application. Once you have an application on file we will then schedule a time for you to come and meet her. Please note that Dixie is not going to be a good dog for an apartment. Her adoption fee is $250.00 this will include her being current on all her vaccinations, being treated for fleas, treated for worms, microchipped and spayed. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgApril 26, 2024, 8:34 am

Story
Hi all, I'm Franky! I'm still getting used to having a name, since not long ago I was only seen as a number. I lived my whole life being used for toxicity tests and living without the comfort of a warm bed. Luckily BFP came, and now I'm part of the Freedom Fields family! Due to my past, I am shy and still nervous around people. I am looking for a family that is kind and patient with me as I learn to trust and how to be a dog. I'd also prefer to have a friend in my home that can help teach me. I can't wait to experience my new life with my forever family! If you are interested in adopting me , please fill out an adoption application at https://bfp.org/rescue/ and email us with questions: adopt@bfp.org. Location: SAN ANTONIO, TX

Story
It wasn’t the plan but it's absolute perfection that Abbie rhymes with happy. This girl is still on the young side, not quiet a puppy, far from being and adult but she sure knows a thing or two. Her current specialty is knowing how to perfectly sit at your feet, make you smile and then fill you up with love. Her happy-go-lucky way is so contagious! With rescue we are often left guessing a dogs age and breed, and that is true with Abbie. We believe she is about 8 months old and is some sort of hound/bully mix. She currently weighs 50lbs and still has some growing to do so you can expect her to grow into a medium/large dog. Every ounce of her is ready for the good life, one with you at the end of her leash, going on hikes, greeting all the people with her. happy face and then heading home for an all our love and cuddle session. Before you fall in love, she does want you to know, her love of stuffies/plushies is real and will be coming with her into adulthood. As long as you are supportive and encouraging of this, she will be the best girl and when you are not available for snuggles she will simply snuggle a love until you are free. We would love to see Abbie in a home with a yard given her youthful energy and love of play. She gets along well with other dogs and absolutely gravitates to the playful ones but truthfully, her love tank could easily be filled by the love of her people. She is a social girl so when you have parties, be ready for all your guests to be enamored with Abbie as she works the room and looks adoringly at each of them. If you have a cat, Abbie promises to be respectful and take it slow. When she met our house cat Tom she was respectfully fearful of him and when she did work up the courage, she retreated quickly when he gave her a swat. We feel confident that she could live harmoniously with a feline friend. Abbie is young and will need continued work on her leash skills and crate training but her attentiveness and desire to please will make training and obedience a breeze. Consistency, a handful of treats and your adoring praise will have this girl ready for anything. Adopt Abbie and get started on those party tricks and making all the best memories together! Please email : Kristin@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Follow our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $62 surcharge for transport. Story
Video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/TAmDTkRtmHI Bentley is a stunning hound pup about 7 months old. He found himself on death row due to space limitations at small rural shelter so we got him out. He is great with other dogs and doesn't bother cats. He has a deep bark like a typical hound and is active and happy like a typical hound. He has big paws so he might be mixed with something like great pyrenees. He's a big goofball who will bring lots of entertainment and joy to your life. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. We have frequent transports to the locations below. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on the next transport until a new home is found. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue/reviews Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Seattle/Tacoma) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Illinois (Vandalia) - Indiana (Spiceland) - Ohio (Columbus) - Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, dewormed, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 2, lepto vaccine x 2, heartworm tested (negative), on monthly heartworm prevention, on monthly flea and tick prevention. Story
Howdy! My name is Ella, (at left) sister to fellow hound dog Mae (at right) from E Texas! I am a wonderful Treeing Walker Coonhound/Australian cattle dog blend. Texans threw my entire litter out to fend for ourselves and a kind lady trapped all 12 of us...she is a hero! Mae and I hitched a ride on a big yellow school bus they tell us is full of saved dogs who people in the PNW want to adopt! I'm mighty happy to hear my forever family is out there somewhere! I'm around 8 months old, 44 lbs, love other dogs and kids who aren't too young and crazy. Apply for me at streetsavvydogrescue.org Adoption Application
