Story
Frida and Grey joined IEBR back in June when they were six months old. Both girls have spina bifida and are fully incontinent, but they have come so far in their healing! Their severe diaper rash and urine burns have healed, and they've each put on at least 10-12lbs. They are old pros at their cleaning/hygiene routines and LOVE bath time! Grey was scheduled to have bilateral knee surgery last week, but the procedure was postponed at the last minute. The vet didn't have the right size of metal plate for her legs, so she's rescheduled for the week before Christmas. Please send her healing thoughts as she faces a long recovery! Frida has some medical mysteries that we hope to solve so she can safely be spayed and have her cherry eye fixed. In the meantime she is a happy girl who knows how to make herself comfortable...she just climbs all over her foster mom and dad until she finds the perfect perch! Both dogs are not ready for adoption yet since they still have medical issues we need to address. They are also not a bonded pair. Frida has a black dot on her head and Grey has tan eyebrows. Story
Hi, my name is Thor. I am 4 years old (soon to be 5). My foster family thinks I am the best! I love being with all people, and I love kids! My favorite thing to do is be lazy. During the day, I rotate sleeping between three different napping spots as my foster mom works. Laying upside down is my favorite position. Most of the time, when the doorbell rings, I ignore it and continue with my nap. I like to go on walks on my terms…I can be a bit stubborn. Once I get going, I enjoy walking around the block, but that’s my limit. Car rides are another thing I love to do. My foster mom takes me with her whenever she can. My human foster sister gets annoyed because I am in the front seat when we pick her up from school, and she doesn’t think that is fair. LOL. I am pretty lazy; however, I get a burst of energy once (maybe twice) a day when I am extra goofy. Sometimes, during these bursts of energy, I bark at nothing or chew on things I’m not supposed to, like the remote, my foster mom’s phone, pens, etc. I LOVE squeaky toys. My human foster siblings like to run around while squeaking a toy and let me chase them. It’s a lot of fun! They think it’s really funny when I jump high and get it from them. I also like it when they play on the floor with me. Don’t be taken off guard if I pounce on you when we are playing, I think it’s fun. I didn’t have stairs at my previous family's house, so I wasn’t quite sure how to use them at first. I am now a pro and don’t mind them at all; even the long flight down to the basement. My foster family loves to watch me go down them because apparently it is so funny and cute since I have to bounce due to my short legs. I like to chase little basketballs when I’m down there. I am primarily potty trained. I know that I need to go outside to go, but because I need to go pretty frequently, if my foster humans get sidetracked, sometimes I go in the house or in my kennel because I can’t hold it any longer. I don’t mind the kennel if someone is in the room with me, like at night; however, I don’t like it when they are not near or are gone so I will bark. A couple of other things that aren’t my favorite are bathes and the vacuum. I have a cat foster brother that I don’t mind at all. Most of the time I ignore him. Occassionally, I think it is fun to chase him, but I wouldn’t hurt him. Because I am a good listener, if someone tells me to stop, I will. My previous family said that I am good with other dogs. My foster family thinks that I will be fine with dogs because I am not phased by them on our walks or by the neighbor's dog at the fence. Before they say for sure, they want to see how I do with a few of their dog friends. I get told all the time that I am handsome and have a great personality! And that someday there is going to be a family that is so lucky to love me as their own! I get neutered December 8th and once I'm healed from surgery I will be ready for adoption. If you do, please fill out an application to adopt. Thor's adoption fee is: $850.00 Visit us on Facebook: Visit us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/IllinoisEnglishBulldogRescue

Story
Hi there! My name is Dozer and I am 7 years old and a big boy at 75lbs. I am a very affectionate dog and I love hugs, children, and every person that I meet. I get along well with my 2 foster siblings, bunnies, and chickens. Although I get along well with other animals, I don’t care to play with other dogs and would much rather hang out with humans. When postal workers or delivery drivers come to the porch, I bark to let my foster parents know that they have a delivery. I love curling up on the couch and on the laps of humans. My foster parents say that sometimes, I don’t realize how big I am when I curl up on their laps but that does not stop my foster parents from letting me curl up on their laps because I am a very good boy. I do not like lightning and thunder and may pace or try to be next to humans in order to feel better. I do not mind regular rain showers and will sleep through them just fine. I do not like my kennel and will try to get out of it but I do very well in a room with a door shut or a pet gate in the doorway. Normally, I lay on the couch with my 2 foster siblings and have free reign of the house when my foster parents are not home because I am a very good boy. I love the outdoors, walks, car rides, and helping my foster parents around the house with their chores. When I got to my foster home, I had a lot of bald spots and some dry skin. Now, I only have a few bald spots that my foster mom calls “alopecia” but my foster mom tells me that it is just a cosmetic issue and not a health issue. Everyone who has met me just loves me and my foster parents tell me that whoever adopts me will be so lucky. If you are interested in Dozer, please visit our website: www.ilenglishbulldogrescue.org, and read through our adoption criteria to see if you meet our requirements. If you do, please fill out an application to adopt. Dozer's adoption fee is: $350.00 Visit us on Facebook: Visit us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/IllinoisEnglishBulldogRescue
