Meet Peaches, a 5-year-old French Bulldog who weighs 27 pounds and is equal parts playful sidekick and professional snuggler. This sweet girl has a happy, confident personality and hasn’t met a person she didn’t immediately adore. With one adorable floppy ear and a constant desire to be near her people, Peaches has a way of bringing smiles wherever she goes. Peaches is housetrained and does great in her crate, where she settles in easily and sleeps quietly through the night. She’s a wonderful mix of playful and mellow. She enjoys running around the yard, playing with toys, and wrestling with her dog friends, but she’s just as happy relaxing on the floor with a bone or curling up in someone’s lap. She also enjoys car rides, walks nicely on a leash, and already knows how to sit. Peaches gets along beautifully with just about everyone. She’s been great with dogs, cats, and children. She’s confident, friendly, and adaptable, making her an easy companion in many different types of homes. Peaches does have a wobbly gait, likely related to Intervertebral Disc Disease, but she is not in any pain and it doesn’t slow her down one bit. If you’re looking for a happy, fun-loving sidekick, Jack Jack might be your perfect match! He’s a friendly, outgoing pup who loves being part of the action—whether that means chasing a frisbee, going for a walk, or squeezing into your lap for some quality cuddle time. He's an 8-year-old Boston Terrier who weighs 26.2 pounds. Jack Jack has been diagnosed with lumbosacral disease and may also have Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), which can affect the spine. Because of this, he has some ataxia, meaning his gait can be a bit wobbly at times. The good news is that he is comfortable and not currently in pain, and he gets around just fine in his day-to-day life.   Jack Jack is mostly house-trained, though a belly band can help when he’s roaming the house. He tolerates his crate just fine, but his true preference is snuggling up in bed with his humans at night. This playful guy enjoys toys, a good game of fetch or frisbee, and romping around with his canine pals. He does well with other dogs and has been great with children, including his foster’s youngest human sibling who is 8. Cats, however, are not his thing, so he’ll need a cat-free home. While a fenced yard isn’t required, it would definitely be a dream for him to have a safe place where he can zoom around and burn off some of that happy energy. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Records are sent via email. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities!
