Story
Tiger is a lovable two-year-old Boston Terrier Mix who weighs a whopping 13.3 pounds. This little guy has a big heart, boundless energy, and an even bigger desire to play! He’s making great progress with house-training (a belly band has been helpful) and does wonderfully in his crate. He’s good with other dogs and would likely thrive with a canine companion around his size. Tiger’s favorite hobby is chasing things — and we mean everything! From the vacuum to a leaf blowing across the sidewalk, if it moves, he’s on it. He doesn’t typically try to eat what he grabs, but he sometimes picks up rocks on walks, so his future family will need to stay attentive. Tiger is still learning his manners. He’s working on leash skills and can zig-zag and pull, although his small size makes it manageable. He also takes his time finding the perfect potty spot and may need his paws wiped after walks. With consistency and patience, he’s made excellent progress and has stopped marking indoors. Although Tiger is friendly and excitable, he can be fearful of new things. Stairs, unfamiliar environments, and changes can make him nervous at first. He responds beautifully to positive reinforcement with treats, toys, and praise. He’s a sensitive boy who wants to do well. While he may enjoy children, a calmer home would likely suit Tiger best. Lots of young or high-energy children could overwhelm him. After Tiger's had his playtime and exercise (which he absolutely needs!), he's all about the cuddles. He loves to curl up and relax with his people. He’ll thrive with an owner committed to continued training, daily exercise, and making sure he has plenty of appropriate toys to burn off that terrier energy — otherwise, he may find his own “projects” to chew on! It's easy to fall in love with Tiger. His joyful spirit, affectionate nature, and playful personality make him an incredibly special companion just waiting for his forever home. His minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
