I'm 13lbs, and I am looking for my forever home. Adoption Donation: $550 All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are recommended. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. This compact cutie loves going for walks, and she *really* loves a good back scratch, if she finds just the right spot, she’ll happily drop down and give herself a full back rub routine. She knows how to sit, will get down when asked, and if you’re lucky, she’ll offer her signature high-five when she’s in the mood! Ophelia likes to make new friends slowly and on her own timeline, but once she feels comfortable, she warms up beautifully. Because she prefers a calmer environment, she would do best in a home with adults or older children who can respect her pace. She can zip around the house like a little bunny when she’s excited, it’s impossible not to smile watching her happy hops. She is housebroken, crate-trained, an excellent listener, and wonderfully well-mannered. So, there i was, minding my own business when SUDDENLY.... I was saved :) Now, ok, that is kind of the "cliff notes" version of my week ;) So, lets just say.... I was sick and scared and my owner reached out to the rescue to help me get to feel better, and I AM!! You see, I had a very infected uterus, if you ask the rescue people they will show you how bad it was ;( My owner was so scared that I would die, so he asked the rescue peeps (who LOVE frenchies, btw) and THAT is how i ended up here!! I am a sweet and cuddly girl, if you like VELCrO I am a cuter version of VELCRO that you have ever seen! I am about 4 yrs old, svelte and cute and loving my puppy free life! I am great with other dogs, all people and my foster mom is fostering a kitten too- I am pretty focused on the kitty so we think no kitties or prey animals for me! Story

Betty Lavender is a petite force of a Frenchie with enough personality to make up for her mobility disadvantages. Betty loves her person and is a dedicated cuddler, but she is also very playful and energetic. She’s an absolute foodie with a very advanced palate, and an accomplished co-pilot. Betty is looking for someone to see past her disabilities to the amazing dog beneath the diapers and stylish suspenders. Betty came to us after she was dumped by her previous owners after a pregnancy caused a disc to bulge in her spine, resulting in partial paralysis. She doesn’t have full control over her bladder (her happy tinkles get the better of her more now), so she wears a diaper to be courteous indoors. She partially drags her hind end, but it doesn’t slow her down one bit. She is capable of running at shockingly high speeds, doing cute little leaps over the threshold, and activating her impressive core strength to get her legs fully beneath her to stand at times (mostly when motivated by food.) — From a medical perspective, she’s been cleared by a vet and we are looking into getting her a specially fitted wheelchair to help her outdoor mobility level up even further, but even without the aid of her wheelchair, she is a very mobile and active little girl - she does does things in a different way. Betty can also be a little bit of a guard-dog at heart, and she’s very protective of her home and her people. An adopter experienced with resource-guarding behaviors in dogs would be ideal for this little motorized cannonball. She has lived very successfully with other dogs, and enjoys playing, but as she does have a protective, alpha-type personality, she will do best with male dogs, or females that are submissive and non-threatening. Betty Lavender does well with free-roam living and isn’t known to get into things she’s not supposed to. She will settle in a crate or a playpen, but she will make sure you are well aware of her displeasure by singing you a 20ish minute concert titled “How Dare You”.
