Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi.  My name is Ronnie.  I am a laid back and sweet male Frenchie, really the most perfect gentleman if I do say so myself! I really love my people and want to be near them all the time - some would say I am a Velcro dog, but I would say that I am 25 pounds of love! I love to follow them everywhere - if the resident dogs get too close to my people, I push my way in – but not in a mean way.  After all I am a French gentleman.  I can sometimes get protective of the people I choose and guard them to keep them for myself.  A child free home would be best for me as that commotion gives me a bit of anxiety as I try too hard to control them.  I'd do best in a home as an only pup and have my forever person all to myself, so I do not need to have another dog living with me as long as my people are home quite a bit of the time. If you do have other pups, they'd be best if submissive because I am an alpha guy in the pecking order.  I have learned how to nap on dog beds and have been caught snuggling in together with the other pups! I love treats and have learned how much fun toys are. I walk great on a leash so I don’t need a fence in my forever home. I don't like that crate thing all that much and voice my discontent. Because of that, shared walls are not ideal because apparently neighbors don't appreciate things like that.  The humans here leave me out while they are gone and I just rest until they return.  I really do prefer to sleep on the sofa or find a warm spot in the sun.  My ideal home would be one where the humans are home during the day.  You see, I've been bounced around a lot in my life and what I really need is consistency and someone to not give up on me. The first few days/weeks when change happens, it makes me nervous that you are going to leave me forever and I show some separation anxiety. But, once we get that schedule down and you tell me you're my pack leader, then I will start to trust that you will never leave me. I'm a very loyal guy who sadly has not a lot of consistency in my life outside my foster home.  So, if you worked from home and were a bit of a home body, or could take me with you to work or on adventures, that would be just perfect! I am potty trained and know what "outside" means so that helps me know what is expected.  I also know "sit" and am working on "stay" - so I'm a smart guy! I also don’t mind car rides and would love to go to work with you if given the chance. I love to snuggle and sleep with foster mom at night.  Foster mom says I am a goofy boy who is still learning how to be a dog.  All I need is a loving forever home to help me become the best dog I can be. *Bulldogs are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise.  Because these dogs are new into our rescue, health issues in the future may arise that we are not aware of.  Some of these issues are allergies, eye issues, yeast infections, interdigital cysts, slipped disks in their back, breathing problems, among a host of others that can occur at any time or when seasons change. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure the breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average bulldog owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs.  In addition to normal pre adoption surgeries, Tyler also had surgery on his nares and soft palate to improve the quality of his breathing. This is reflected within his adoption fee. Bulldogs are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for bulldogs usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Bulldog Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the bulldog. Our goal is place bulldogs in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the bulldog, we will not approve your application.  Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Please fur-give me for being so forward, but all I want in this lifetime is to love and be loved, but, isn’t that what anybody wants? It’s just that, I don’t want to waste any time finding my forever home, that’s why I generally wear my heart on my sleeve and show love to every human I meet hoping they will be my new forever best friend! Hey, I’m Cayman, I’m your typical French Bulldog so if you know anything about frenchies, then you’ll understand that I am a cuddly, happy boy that also loves to take naps. I may only be twenty eight pounds but when I get those energy outbursts, I could do zoomies from one end of the yard to the other and back again! However, I generally tend to take a nice long snooze after running around like a mad man.  If you want to give me a treat for being such a good boy, I love those Greenies that my foster mom gives me. As far as toys, I’m still figuring those out, until then, Nylabones are a great way to get my chewing needs met. Though I haven’t walked on a leash much, I did pretty great in a harness going to my recent vet visit, so maybe a fenced yard would give me the freedom to run. After experiencing life with a yard, it’s hard to picture not having one in my future. I’m not picky when it comes to family though. I could go home with a first time dog owner, or be an additional member of a big family. While I get along with other dogs, like the other frenchies and English Bulldog in my current living situation, I don't necessarily need a companion in my new home. I haven't met kids or cats yet, but we can meet and I bet I'd be happy with them! I tend to stay pretty quiet, but don’t mistake that for me being shy or timid, I’m just polite. I do well in a crate for a period of time, but if I see you coming, I’ll make some noise and want to get out. A schedule would be great for potty training, as I’m still working on a regular routine, maybe it could be something we learn together. If you work from home, I’ll probably want to sit on your lap, and if you don’t, I hope it would be okay if you let me cozy up and watch TV with you at night. No matter where I end up, attention and love is all I require to be content. *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Given my name, you’d think I was a baller.  But I’m not.  I’m more a lover of people.  MY people. I love my people so much that being away from them makes my heart pound and my voice-box activates.  Some people call it separation anxiety but I call it pure love.  I'd prefer that my humans work from home, or be home often because of that. I adore being cuddled and will lean into it.  It doesn’t matter if that’s back/butt scratches or face smushes. I’m alllllllll for it! I love my humans, in case I haven’t said that yet.  So much that I don’t need another dog in my forever home but I do well with my current roomie is about my size.  We play, wrestle and talk shop.  Sometimes we meet at the watering hole.  But I have to make that chat-time quick because I need to get back to my people.  I worry they can’t function without me so when they get up to go to the bathroom or walk away from where I am, I’m staring at the exit or hot on their tails (well, if they had tails).  I mean why would they need to leave me behind?  I do well outside the home and when we went on a road trip to another home for the holidays.  I also was friendly with two cats, I met, and all the tiny kid humans I've met thus far - I'm just a friendly guy who loves everyone! When I first came to Underdog, I was regurgitating a lot. I got my breathing surgeries on my nares and soft palate and that really helped me. Post surgery, I was still regurgitating so it was another trip to the vet for me. What has really helped this is eating a raw, or homeade diet, and eating in an upright position, in addition to some antacid meds. Thankfully Underdog has a Bailey Chair and I eat in that. It makes me stand upright when I eat (and best when I also drink water) and I stay in my nice chair for a few minutes after eating to let food get down my esophagus and digest.  My regurgitation has been much, much better using this technique (which suspects that I have a form of megaesophagus), so my forever home should be prepared to feed me in similar ways.  I happily eat this way, and honestly, it's no big deal! I don’t need a fenced yard because I’m doing better and better every day using a leash.  I get in a groove sometimes and end up going pretty far! Sometimes cars will scare me a little when we’re walking but not always.  When I get in a mood, I like to play with my crinkly toys and chew on bones.  And don’t tell but I like to sit on top of the sofa cushions.  teehee I know you’re wondering but I’m not 100% potty trained but that doesn’t stop me from trying my best.  I do really good if I’m kept on a good schedule.  And that darn kennel is not my friend.  So I bark – well sometimes it’s whiney howl.  So no shared walls I guess.  But overall, I’m just a super sweet dude who can be yours if “the app is right!”  haha *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. To speed up the adoption process, please complete our Pre-Adoption Application.Roscoe - 22 lbs- 1.5 yrs old  PLEASE READ ALL BEFORE APPLYING: Roscoe can not go to a home with young children. He does bite. He does not like chaos (kids running/yelling/wrestling). He does not like getting meds, nails clipped, or being brushed.  He gaurds his crate, food bowl, water bowl, people, and toys from dogs (most likely kids also). Has not gaurded things from the adults in his foster home. However he has bitten the adults in the foster home. Anything that he does not like- he will bite over.  He is about as cute as they come. He has been completely fine with the cats in foster. He is also fine in a crate, is not a huge barker, and alerts us when he needs to go outside.  He however is a really bossy boy once he is comfortable. He needs firm rules and boundries from his owner that is not scared of him.  He is fine with most dogs when there are not food/people/toys/etc invovled. He is bossy with dogs just like people. He will need to go to a local adopter that is willing to use our trainers to assist with his transistion. I am neutered, vaccinated, health checked, dewormed, and micro-chipped. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!       Meet Scout! This adorable one-year-old Frenchie is on the lookout for his forever family! Despite being born with spina bifida, Scout doesn't let it slow him down. While he may need to wear a diaper and suspenders due to lack of control over his urine and bowls, his ability to stand up makes diapering a breeze. He is able to express his bladder and bowel himself and does not require and assistance in that realm - just changing his diaper. Frankly, not having to go outside in bad weather is a plus, and there is nothing to pickup in your backyard! Because of this, Scout cannot go 8+ hours a day without diaper changes, so he does require someone who works from home, or can stop home to help change his diapers to avoid infection and chaffing. Scout is full of personality, with plenty of opinions to share. He's a playful pup who never seems to tire out, often leaving his friends wondering how he keeps up the energy. When playtime winds down, Scout isn't one to rest for long; he'll grab a toy and entertain himself by tossing it around with gusto. Scout is eager to find a loving home where he can continue spreading joy and laughter with his playful antics. Due to his energetic ways, not all dogs appreciate his play He has doggie friends, who enjoy playing like him, but it is not preferred by all. Scout can't wait to start a basic obedience class with you to keep learning and to make up for lost socialization when he was a younger pup. Scout has not met any kids, but is ok with dog-savvy cats.  He is crate and leash trained, so does not require a fenced in yard.  Scout is looking for a special home, but we know it is out there Scout is an incredibly sweet boy who loves life and not all he needs is YOU…a patient, unconditionally loving fur-ever family that will NEVER give up on him. Sure, he may be a bit higher maintenance than others, but his heart is enormous and it’s overflowing with love that he wants to share with an amazing family. If you will welcome him into your world, he promises you that not only will he show off his excited bouncy dance, but he will make you the center of his universe!!  Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure the breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average bulldog owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up.
