Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Meet Elphaba (aka Ellie), a quite queen looking for her happily ever after!  If you're dreaming of a peaceful, loving companion with soulful eyes and a heart full of gratitude, meet Ellie, a charming little French Bulldog who proves age is just a number. At around 9 years old and a compact 20 lbs, Ellie is the perfect lap-sized lady ready to spend her golden years wrapped in love, sunshine, and cozy naps. Ellie recently made a big move from Texas to Minnesota, and while she's still adjusting to her new surroundings, she’s already blossoming into a loyal and affectionate sweetheart. She’s quiet as a mouse, crate trained, and fully potty trained on leash—with just a bit of gentle encouragement now and then. She walks beautifully on a leash (though sometimes her excitement gets the better of her tiny legs!) and is a dream in the car. Though she doesn’t seek out other dogs, she’s happy to say a polite hello and gets along well with her foster’s cat. She’s got no interest in toys after the first squeak but give her a sunny spot, a warm lap, or a good petting session, and her heart is yours forever. Plus, she has an adorable little hop when she’s happy—yes, it’s as cute as it sounds. Ellie would thrive in a calm home where she can be the center of attention or share space with respectful pets. She’s perfect for apartment living, doesn’t bark, and won’t chew your shoes—but she will clean up your crumbs.   If you're looking for a loyal, low maintenance snuggle buddy with the spirit of a princess and the manners of a saint, Ellie is your girl!  come meet her and you'll fall in love the moment she looks up at you with those big, beautiful eyes.   Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  Bulldogs are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise.  Because these dogs are new into our rescue, health issues in the future may arise that we are not aware of.  Some of these issues are allergies, eye issues, yeast infections, interdigital cysts, slipped disks in their back, breathing problems, among a host of others that can occur at any time or when seasons change. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure the breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average bulldog owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs.   Bulldogs are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for bulldogs usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Bulldog Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the bulldog. Our goal is place bulldogs in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the bulldog, we will not approve your application.   * **Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Opal is both beautiful and sweet, but we have learned that the best home for her would be with a single woman with no other pets. Opal loves her human completely and she simply doesn’t want to share. She is extremely possessive. Not to the point where she bites but she growls and barks a lot and that does not make for a peaceful home life for anyone. Opal is fun and playful and affectionate with her person. She loves to go for walks and rides in the car and she’s good with other dogs as long as her person doesn’t want to love on them. Then she growls them away. Opal is spayed, UTD required vaccines and his heartworm negative. She is house trained, but might have an accident or two until she settles in. We just have to find that “right“ home for this precious girl. She would truly be someone’s very best friend. If you would like to be the center of this girls world, please contact OMLC 7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com. If you are emailing from a Gmail or yahoo account, please use the Gmail address. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Meet Gaston!  This handsome man is just over two years old and shy of 30 pounds!  He is a little shy at first, but he is blossoming more and more each day.  He is showing himself to be the friendly, happy guy we know he is!  He really takes cues and learns from other dogs, so having another pup in the home is best for Mr Gaston to reach his full potential.  He watches the other dogs with things like toys and bones and with their continued guidance, those will be his favorite in no time.   Gaston has learned how to do stairs - thanks to the guidance of his fur siblings.  He is quiet in his kennel but has peed in it a few times when the humans were away.  He has gotten on a good schedule and his accidents are fewer and fewer  - also, thanks in part to his neuter!  He is still a bit unsure about being picked up and has not yet learned the joy of treats yet.  Once he figures out how tasty those are, and the trusting hands that give them, he will be a happy guy!  He loves to run in the fenced in backyard and due to his shier nature, a fenced in backyard would be ideal for Gaston.  Leash walking is in the very beginning stages, but with a confident dog, he'd likely master it in no time.  A home with older, respectful kids would be ideal for Gaston as loud noises are still a bit scary.  He has not yet met cats, but would likely do just fine with feline friends.   We see Gaston's future full of love and cuddles, he's just waiting for the perfect home to help him reach his full potential! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  I am going to be practicing my downward dogs at the Doggy Yoga event on Saturday, May 10th from 9:45 -11:00 am at the Shakopee Community Center, 1255 Fuller St. S, Shakopee, MN 55379. Meet me at 9:45 am. Register for and participate in the yoga class from 10:00-10:45. I will help you to do the downward dog correctly. Hang out with me until 11:00 am. For more information on the yoga event, contact Shakopee Community Center at 952-233-9500. This is a paid yoga event. Registration information is also available online at https://secure.rec1.com/MN/shakopee-mn/catalog - Shakopee Parks and Recreation under Fitness Specialty Classes. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs.   Hey there, I’m Bo! I might be a senior French Bulldog (wise, not old, thank you very much), but don’t let my age fool you—I’ve still got plenty of pep in my step and a whole lot of love to give. I clock in at around 26 pounds of compact charm and bulldog swagger, and I’m absolutely living my best life. I’m a confident, outgoing guy who knows what I like: squeaky toys, car rides, and being wherever you are. Seriously, I’m a world-class companion—loyal, calm, and always ready to hang out. I’ve even gone shopping at TJ Maxx, and yes, I looked fantastic doing it. I’m also crate trained, potty trained (outside only, thank you), and I sleep through the night like a champ. I’m quiet in my crate when you’re gone and will be thrilled to see you when you’re back—no drama, just tail wags. I walk nicely on a leash, I come when called, and I’ve got great house manners. I know how to “sit,” I take direction well, and I’m the kind of guy who just fits right into your routine. I’m not the kind of pup who needs constant supervision—I just need a cozy home, a squeaky toy or two to hoard (yep, I’m that guy), and a person to call my own. I’m not wild about sharing toys with other dogs, so I’d be happiest as your one and only furry roommate. Kids and cats? I haven’t been tested yet, but I’m always willing to keep an open mind. If you're looking for a happy-go-lucky best friend who’s low-maintenance but full of personality, I’m your Bo. Let’s hop in the car, grab a snack, and enjoy the good life together! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Introducing Mimosa!  &#239&#187&#191Mimosa could not be a more wonderful little companion.  She is a beautiful little 20 lb French Bulldog who loves to cuddle and to play.  She adores other dogs her size and is fabulous with children.  She likes to play and chase kitties a little too much to be in a home with a cat, though she is never aggressive.  Her chase is all about the fun – at least from her perspective!   Her favorite things include stuffed animals, tennis balls, and a soccer ball that she herds happily around the yard.  Mimosa loves to go for walks.   Her leash training is absolute perfection as she bounces enthusiastically along by your side. Because of this she should not need a fenced yard, but of course would love one.   Potty training and crate training are both a work in progress.  Going to a new environment, it is highly recommended that Mimosa be kept on a schedule to help her be successful in learning to go potty outside.  Mimosa does best with someone who works from home and can learn/tell her potty cues.  Without this, she will potty in the house, which she knows she shouldn't do, and clean that up (by eating it).  If left in her kennel for long work days, she will poo in there (and also clean it up).  She then got herself into a loop of having troubles.  At her foster home, where she has someone home during the day, she is back to her normal potty schedule and is doing amazing!  She is eating Nature's Logic Sardine which she digests well and should be kept on from a diet perspective.  She is also taking a few gut health supplements that have also proven successful.  She would love a sibling but does not necessarily require one if her family is home with her most of the time.   Mimosa does have grade 4 luxating patellas, although they dont show nor slow her down at all! She is not a candidate for surgery, at this time, but her forever home should know this may be a need in the future.  This sweet little playful and adorable cuddle bug is excited to meet her forever family! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Story
Location: Round Lake, MN Professor has so much love to give. He is still getting used to being loved on but once you start giving him pets/ scratches he just melts! Loves to sit outside next to his human! He is learning to explore the outside world! He is learning how to go potty outside and does well once he finds the right spot. He does pretty well in his crate but does need some guidance with potty training. He loves chew toys! He does have sensitive skin and is currently being treated for skin allergies! He's really good at taking his pills (We have been using pill pockets)! A sensitive skin/ tummy food would be best for this good boy! He is curious around cats but does not bully them! He enjoys walks and will stay right next to his humans feet! He loves being active but also loves taking naps on a fluffy dog bed (He does snore lol)!! He does well with other dogs! I think slowly introducing his new fur siblings would be best for this old soul! We have been keeping him in his crate at night! --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
