Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, my name is Cornelia. I am a very affectionate and smart young adult female French Bulldog/Beagle mix who loves to follow my family everywhere and be as close to them as I can. Since I’d rather spend time with my people, toys have yet to pique my interest, but I enjoy going on leashed walks, exploring my surroundings, watching the squirrels, and I really loves me some treats! In fact, I’m very food motivated and get so excited when I know treats are involved that I start jumping for joy! My family is trying to help me learn that remaining calm while awaiting treats is not only good etiquette but quite frankly, more lady-like. All I have to say about that is…I will try! Hee, hee!! I have not met any cats, but I love to play with other dogs. I don’t have a lot of experience with kids, but I have been good with the few I’ve met thus far. I do not like being left alone and will bark if I am, so hopefully my family will be home with me most of the time .  I am still working on potty training and I’m pretty vocal when first put in that cave you humans call a “kennel/crate”, but I do know what “sit” means. A forever home without shared walls would be ideal - bark bark! I am a super sweet girl with a friendly disposition who is simply looking for my fur-ever home with a patient, unconditionally loving family that will NEVER give up on me! If you’ll be my new family, I promise to love you with every ounce of my being, and we will have the most amazing life together. Love Cornelia *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.   Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in th eir forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a    particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.     ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Story
Hi my name is Izzy and I'm your quintessential sassy French Bulldog. My foster mom says I'm almost perfect. Almost?!? I don't know what she's talking about but I'll let you be the judge with my Pro/Con list below.ProsI'm GREAT with people! I love them all - big, small, short, tall. I'll follow my people everywhere like a velcro dog I'm hilarious; I will make you laugh with my goofiness every dayI'm house trained. I'm also pad trained if it's raining or I'm being stubborn.I'm really good about staying in the yard (except when I'm in a place I don't know then I need a harness and leash for sure because I get a little scared).I'm spayed, microchipped, and fully vetted! I'm ready to go!!ConsI'm TERRIBLE with other animals - I will terrorize your other dogs/cats because I want to be the center of attention. Don't get me wrong I can go out in public and be a perfect lady around people and other dogs but when I'm on my home turf I need to be your one and only!Like a typical French Bulldog (not that I'm typical) I have some skin irritations and allergies. Foster mom's been working with the vet to get me on some medicine and that's been working great. So I need someone that can afford monthly medicine for me. But I'm worth it!Disclaimer: I am located in Texas. I can be transported once adopted. Transport fee is $250.*Disclaimer: This pet is located in Texas. Once adoption is finalized the pet will be transported to the adopters location for an additional fee (currently $230-$250).* The adoption fee helps to cover some of the cost of vetting the animal prior to adoption (spay/neuter, microchipping, and up to date vaccinations). Please fill out an adoption application to be considered for adoption. https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=ch2817&method=online_form_html&formid=41

Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, my name is Gracie. I am a stunning young adult female Frenchie with a spunky, sassy, playful, and extremely curious personality! Not only do I enjoy going on short, leashed walks, but I love gnawing on Benebones, eating flowers, and chewing on pretty much anything I can get in my mouth! Hee, hee!! Honestly, when it comes to my chewing, one must think “toddler” …that’s right, I like to get into everything and put whatever I find into my mouth! Hee, hee!! For this reason, although I’m good with older kids, younger ones are probably not a good fit for me because I may accidentally mistake a hand for a bone, and I bite pretty hard! LOL foster mom is happy though because I do choose dog bones and my things 99% of the time! I have not met any cats, but I am good with other dogs and would love to have a doggie playmate in my new home. I am a smart girl who does well with the leash & crate, but I admit I can be a bit vocal in the crate. I am still working on potty training but I’m confident that with a consistent schedule I will master it in no time. I am eager to learn new things and would love an obedience class to help teach me not to jump. I would also like to mention that I have tiny ear canal openings, have had previous ear damage, and I’m food sensitive, so I will need ongoing ear & allergy care that will require high quality food and may require lifelong daily medication.  I am currently on Apoquel that costs about $100 a month to keep me itch free.  I am a bit more high maintenance in terms of keeping my allergies at bay, but I make up for it in love. I am truly a precious girl who is simply looking for a patient, unconditionally loving, Frenchie savvy fur-ever family who will NEVER give up on me! Please be my new family…I promise I’m worth it and I will love you bigger than life!! Love, Gracie *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure the breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average bulldog owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs.  In addition to normal pre adoption surgeries, Alesandra also had surgery on her nares and soft palate to improve the quality of her breathing. This is reflected within her adoption fee. Bulldogs are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for bulldogs usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Bulldog Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the bulldog. Our goal is place bulldogs in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the bulldog, we will not approve your application.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hi! I’m Alesandra and I am looking for a very special family of my own! I am a sweet and snuggly girl who would love to be around her family all day! I have my designated couch spots but if you head to the other room, I will likely want to join and check out what you are up to! I am not huge on toys or bones but if you have some of my favorite dog treats, I will happily take some! As a French bulldog, I do require some additional care to make sure my skin and fur are as healthy as possible. Cleaning my face wrinkles and fur help me stay comfortable, so regular spa days are great for me! When I went in for surgery, the vets heard a grad 3 heart murmur. They took some pictures of my heart and sent them off to the U of M for their thoughts and they cleared me for surgery. I did well for those, but my future home should be aware of this as it may be something we need to watch as I get older.  The U of M recommended an echocardiogram in 6-9 months to see if anything has progressed, but my zest for life has not slowed one bit with this! My heart is full of love and life! I love being around my family and I do very well with kids of all ages, as long I have time to warm up first. I am a little shy, so patience and a lot of love is very important for me. If there are some sudden loud noises or a lot of commotion, I can get startled and a little scared. I do go for walks on leash and am a lady while we are walking. The more walks I go on, the more confidence I will gain! I absolutely love dogs of all sizes so having a furry companion could help me build confidence! It is not required that I have a fur sibling as long as my family is home frequently. My foster family has been working on my crate training, but I can get a little stressed when left alone. As I learn I am safe, and with some training, I can become a confident lady at home! My ideal family would understand the care needs I have as a Frenchie and are willing to work through my medical issues as well. I would love a family that has another dog or are home more frequently so I can be with them as much as possible. Patience, love, some treats, and couch snuggles daily would be my favorite! I cannot wait to meet the perfect furever family for me!  *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Holy cow!  My life is brand new and I LOVE it!  Now my last mission to accomplish is to find my furever home, and let me tell you … I’m quite the catch! While I am an amazing and good boy, I haven’t grasped what the traditional toys are for yet, as I’m having too much fun making  my own along the way.  For example, I like to play hockey with my water dish.  Pretty clever, right?!  In the past few weeks, I'm gaining interest on those squeaky things, so we can keep having fun while I learn! I’m a social guy who loves people, dogs and new things – I’m not really bothered by much. I’ll follow you around the house, just in case you need a super hero. I enjoy going for walks (where of course, I meet new people and pets) and heck, I’ll even spy on the neighbor through the fence.  You know, maybe they want to come see me and pet me – hee hee!  I enjoy the outdoors – sitting in the sun, walking (I might need better skills here but let’s GO!) and supervising the block.  Foster mom told someone: “He’s the perfect example of typical male Frenchie personality – sweet and loving but curious with a dash of sassafras!”  I’m not sure I agree with that assessment.  All I was doing was telling her to “hurry up” with my dinner.  I’m really close with my potty training – so keep me on a good schedule and I know I will be a success! I can use a leash for potty so no need for a fence in my forever home.  And if you promise to be home most of the time, I can be an only dog. I do admit that I will bark during the day when I’m in a kennel by myself – not if you put me with another dog though. I’m just too social to be solo. I will bark if I am separated from my people in that kennel thing, but foster mom now puts me in a gated off area in the kitchen and that solved that! I like to be out an about, what can I say!? I keep it clean in there, so foster mom says this is a good compromise for us both! I sleep by myself in the kennel all night near my person just to throw a twist in my patterns.  Here’s a summation from my foster: “Bolt is just a super dog.  Calm, confident and just wants to be with his person.  I can’t say enough good things about him.  He’s been an easy and lovable addition to the household.  Even my 9-year old female Frenchie likes him and she’s tough to please!” All I need now is a furever family of my very own! I can’t wait to meet you! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.
