Personality & TemperamentNola is the definition of a velcro dog. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who wants to be by your side every moment of the day, she’s your girl. Whether you're relaxing on the couch, moving from room to room, or working from home you can count on Nola to be right there with you, offering quiet affection and companionship. She does not do well with other animals and prefers to be the one and only pet in the home. She can also be overwhelmed by small children, so an adult-only household (or older teens) is best. Nola loves her people deeply and doesn’t like to share attention. She wants her special person all to herself. Ideal HomeNola will thrive in a calm, stable home where she can enjoy a predictable routine and quality time with her person. She is kennel trained. Quirks & CharmNola comes with some adorable quirks that will make you laugh on a daily basis: She has a radical belief that all water must be consumed the moment it appears. Small bowls of water are recommended. No large bodies of water should be in her reach.  Water sports are not recommended—playing with sprinklers or kiddie pools is not suitable for Nola. She will enthusiastically chase a water hose like it’s her sworn enemy. These little traits only add to her charm and personality. Medical & CareNola has a mild incontinence issue and will need to wear diapers or have access to puppy pads. She has adapted well to this routine and doesn’t let it slow her down. Her adopter should be prepared to support her with patience, understanding, and consistency. She will go potty outside as well but cannot hold her bladder due to overbreeding. Story
Nova is a 35lb adult (5yr-ish) French bulldog mix. She is incredibly sweet and affectionate and would love to find a forever home. She is still working on her housetraining (great with #1, still working on #2). She walks perfectly on a leash and adores snuggles and couch naps. She loves to show her excitement by wagging her whole body! She came into the rescue with a number of health issues - like most Frenchies - and needs an adopter who understands the financial committments of owning this wonderful, but expensive breed. She had a corneal ulcer (being treated with eye medication), a UTI (treated), unaltered (we fixed her), and with heartworms (she's on the slow kill treatment). Despite all of that, her spirit is amazing - full of love and happiness!! Nova is located in Houston TX and will only be transported upon completed adoption. Her adoption fee is $400. Inquiries will not be responded to unless a completed application has been sent. You can fill out an application at www.recycleddogsrescue.org. You must fill out all of the blanks in the application - put "n/a" if one question is not applicable to you.
