Story
Odie Roger is a 4-year-old French & English bulldog mix who weighs about 48lb.  He’s wonderful with other dogs of all sizes and ages. He does not do well with cats. He is definitely a busy boy. Will require an active, interactive, balanced home. Would absolutely recommend another playful, active dog in the home.. He's crate trained, housebroken. Adores toys and can get a little competitive (playing with other dogs). He knows basic commands and follows them well. He thrives under structure and stability—those are the keys to keeping him balanced and confident.  He has been doing well in new environments, though he is still uncomfortable with new people who approach him directly. Odie is a vocal “flight, not fight” type of guy—he prefers to retreat and talk about it rather than escalate. Odie has been living with his trainer and her family, including kids,  and he is  thriving, but he needs to move on to a quiet home where his foster parent or adopter  can provide the structure and love he needs. He deserves a committed person or family who can continue his progress and help him truly blossom. Odie is currenly in Cochran, GA, near Warner Robins at a training facility. Interested? Contact the coordinator suzycobb@gmail.com. Foster-to-adopt situation is available. Adoption fee is $370.Includes microchip registration. ##2517689##

Story
Meet Sam – Adventure Seeker Extraordinaire! 🐾 Sam is an energetic, fun-loving boy who is always ready for his next adventure. He loves people and enjoys being part of the action, whether that's heading out for a long walk, exploring new places, or simply spending time with his favorite humans. This handsome guy has plenty of energy to burn and would thrive with an active family. Sam loves long walks and outdoor activities, although he can be a strong puller on leash. The good news? He's smart, eager to learn, and should do well with consistent training and guidance. Sam has a confident, dog-dominant personality. He absolutely adores puppies, but his interactions with other adult dogs can be hit or miss, so any canine introductions should be handled carefully and thoughtfully. Like many young, energetic dogs, Sam can be a little mouthy when he's excited. He doesn't mean any harm—it's simply part of how he plays and interacts. He can also be a bit of a "bull in a china shop," often charging into life at full speed without realizing his own strength and enthusiasm. One thing to know about Sam—he's quite the athlete! He can easily clear a 5-foot fence and has a talent for finding opportunities to explore beyond the yard, so he will need a secure environment and close supervision when outside. Because of his energy level, mouthy play style, and tendency to barrel through life with enthusiasm, Sam would likely do best in a home without small children or adults who may be unsteady on their feet. After he's had a chance to burn off some energy, Sam's softer side shines through. He loves belly rubs, snuggles, and relaxing with his people once he's finally worn himself out. If you're looking for an active, loyal companion with a big personality, a sense of adventure, and lots of love to give, Sam may be your perfect match! ❤️🐾

Story
PIERRE: PART FRENCH GENTLEMAN, PART HUMPMEISTER, ALL FRENCHIE. Knoxville, TN Apply to adopt or foster at RecycledBestFriends.org Pierre is 3 years old and has clearly had a rough start before finding his way to rescue. This handsome cream-colored French Bulldog, with just a touch of gold mixed in, was found abandoned, unaltered, unchipped, and carrying the scars of what appears to have been an untreated dog attack. Despite all of that? Pierre remains sweet, curious, and ready to figure out what this whole being loved thing is about. At 24 pounds, Pierre recently had a big week. He was neutered and also underwent nare surgery to help him breathe more comfortably. The improvement in his breathing has already been noticeable, and were excited to see how much better he feels as he continues to recover. Now for the elephant in the room... Pierres foster nickname is Humpmeister. We strongly suspect he may have been used as a stud dog before ending up homeless. He absolutely loves other dogs, but his enthusiasm can currently be a bit... overwhelming. He spent a day in a foster home with seven dogs and generally did well, but some of the more reserved dogs found his social skills lacking. A few confident canine corrections helped, but Pierre is still learning that not every dog wants to be his girlfriend. The good news? Neutering helps, but hormones dont disappear overnight. It can take up to two months for testosterone levels to drop and for behaviors driven by those hormones to settle. What we know: Sweet and affectionate Loves being involved in whatever youre doing Inquisitive and entertaining Generally okay with other dogs, though supervision and management are important right now Cats unknown Young children unknown, but we think older children would likely be a better fit Recovering nicely from surgery Pierre is also a very typical Frenchie. And if youve never owned a Frenchie, thats worth discussing. Our director shares her home with a rescue French Bulldog and will tell you these dogs are hilarious, lovable, stubborn, expensive, sensitive, and often medically complicated little creatures. They snore. They fart. They can overheat. They can require specialized veterinary care. They are absolutely wonderfulbut they are not the right fit for every home. Pierre would thrive with someone familiar with brachycephalic breeds or willing to learn what makes these little clowns tick. Hes survived neglect. Hes survived being abandoned. Hes survived whatever happened to leave those old scars behind. Now Pierre just needs someone willing to help him learn that the rest of his life can be the best of his life. Foster or adopter needed.

Story
Captain Blue Eye, affectionately known as Capo, is a purebred Boston terrier male with one blue eye. He weighs 29 lb. and is 7 years old. He is a sweet boy and loves people He was first rescued from a shelter with his breeding partner by some nice people who have a Boston male. Captain ignored the resident Boston except  to steal his toys:) The female of the pair picked fights with him and he defended himself, but he did not start it.  Capo is presently in foster care and we would love for him to have a home of his own.  Perhaps one or two other dogs would be fine, but Capo would need some alone time to decompress before introducing him slowly to his doggy housemates.  Capo does like to run when it is cool (6:30 am and just before dark) he has issues breathing in the heat. He loves to play and he gets along with the two male dogs in the foster home that are about his size and they are submissive. He does not get along with small dogs. He loves a kiddy pool with water and he loves a water hose and sprinkler.  Captain is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines and is on heartworm prevention. He did have heartworm disease when he first came to us, but has been treated and is now heartworm negative. He has seen a cardiologist and has no heart damage from the infection. He is house-trained, but marks, so he has to wear a belly band while inside.  Captain Blue Eye is presently in Milledgeville, GA. For questions, call his foster mom, Dana, at 478-232-2882. His adoption fee is $450 which includes microchip registration.. ##2536700##

Story
Hello, my name is Barbie Anne, or as my foster mom affectionately calls me, Barbie Girl. My favorite thing in the world is belly rubs. I’ll happily lie there for hours if you give me a good belly rub. My foster brother, Rudy, is my best friend. He’s my size, and we’re inseparable. However, my other fur siblings are much larger than me. My foster dad calls me “baby girl,” and that makes my heart swell with joy. I’m protective of my territory and my foster family. I may bark and growl, but don’t let that fool you; I’m a gentle soul. I require slow introductions to people, as I have a lot of energy and love to run and play. My mom gives me medication to help manage my anxiety, and I’m doing very well on it. However, I would do better in a home with fewer people coming and going. I get very nervous and react by barking, urinating, and growling. It takes me a minute to warm up to humans. My life took a sudden turn when my owner passed away, and they didn’t find us for a few days. We were then placed in the Memphis Animal Shelter, where we stayed for two weeks before being rescued by a rescue organization. When I get overstimulated, I need to be in my crate in a quiet, dark room. I’m a fluffy toy destroyer, so I love chewing on my super chewer toys.  Please give me a place to call my forever home.  Biography BiographyName: Barbie AnneAge: 2 1/2 years oldWeight: 22Spayed / Neuterd: yesMicrochipped: yesVaccine up to date: yesOn Heartworm prevention: yesOn flea and tick prevention: yesHouse trained: I do have little accidents. Crate trained: yes, however I like to pee when I’m excited. She dislikes chaos and people approaching her fast. Toys: she loves toys of all sorts. She is a stuffy destroyer. Other animals: does ok with dogs her same size. She is standoffish with big dogs. People / kids: scared of new people. You have to approach her slowly. Car rides: loves to ride in the car. Separation: does well in a crate.
