Story
Always the bridesmaid...Sweet Woodson can't catch a break and, somehow, he keeps on being passed over.Even though he is THAT FRENCHIE, who everyone is shouting at us for... Here's what his foster mama has to say about him: He is the bravest, friendliest, smartest, sweetest guy on the planet. You would never know what he is dealing with or what he has been through. He is a curious little fireball with a true heart of gold, to match his now beautiful and golden fawn coat. He loves all creatures, human and otherwise. He learned the dog door within the first 48 hours, and hasn't had an accident in the house since. We've maybe never had a more perfect pup! AND, he's still a frenchie so:Although SUPER cute and so yummy & silly, most of our dogs have come from yucky backyard greeders and so, will 100% need to have owners committed to their unique long-term care, health, and wellbeing. Here are just a couple of things that we need to ensure every French Bulldog adopter understands and is comfortable with. All Frenchies MUST HAVE A FULL-SERVICE vet and at MINIMUM an ANNUAL vet appointment. Big-box store vets or mobile/discount shot services are just not going to cut it. Here's the BIG ONE: thanks to their breeding, ALL Frenchie parents have to be ready to manage and IMMEDIATELY treat an episode of IVDD: IVDD 411 All Frenchie parents must be willing to make the time for daily maintenance and grooming: our Frenchies love their spa time and need (at minimum) all of those folds and crevices cleaned that make them so dang cute. It's a sign of your commitment and care. Bulldog adopters have to be willing to administer eye drops; all those folds make for grumpy eyelids. Last but not least, all lucky bulldog parents should expect to manage the ongoing cost of all the goodies associated with loving a bulldog: including but not limited to: high-quality food, eye drops, medicated shampoo, monthly heartworm prevention, fun toys, vet care, and endless scritches and cuddles (This last one is free) PHEW - that's a list, but these guys are so worth it. Your commitment will be rewarded with the love and joy these Frenchies bring into your life. Once you go Bulldog, there's no going back to 'regular' dogs! Lovely boi is heartworm-positive, so he must stay close to our vets for his treatment.Don't worry; heartworm infection is way LESS scary than it sounds, and our team will provide all guidance for his care. SAVED, and saved, and saved AGAIN If you've not been keeping up, check out Miss Lucy's story hereand here. We'll wait... There's the moment that dogs come into rescue, when they are literally saved from certain death (so dramatic, but true).THEN, there are the unfolding moment (s) when, thanks to the love and care of amazing fosters, a dog starts to understand they are saved and can begin to become themselves. So, our little Lucy is a THAT girl. She FINALLY knows that she is saved and is now a dog, a 180 from the girl we thought she was.YES, she had a rocky start AND, now, she is a confident, fun, whack-a-do lil' frenchie girl ready for her best life!Listen, Lucy will always have some noisy bulldog breathing (and should have a bulldog-savvy family). She will truly never, ever be a go-everywhere, brewery-and-chill girl. And she IS, still, much more of an a/c-and-spa-treatment vibe kinda girl. BUT, within her safe, happy home, we know that Lucy NEEDS at least one more friendly, playful, lovely dog to call her own (she would not say no to TWO sweet doggos who LOVE friends) and she is ready for fun She is sweet, sassy, and easy, and we are so, so grateful to have saved her Lucy is ready for HER home for the holidays, apply NOW     To see more of our dogs, please go to https://austinbulldogrescue.com to see who is available and to learn how to get involved with ABR.

Story
JuneBug was adopted in May 2025 at about 1 year old. She and her litter were originally found and DNA tested by the shelter; we were told she is Frenchie Australian Shepard Mix. June is sweet as pie, super high energy but does well indoors and outdoors. She is house trained and crate trained, but prefers to be outside. June was adopted when I worked primarily from home and had a partner at home to help when I had to commute, now its just me and the dogs so she ends up spending a lot of time alone outside or stuck inside her kennel for hours when I commute to Austin. Her older dog brother cannot keep up with her energy and will lash out so for JuneBug safety I hope to find her a new home. She loves everyone including kids, chickens and other dogs but I have never had her around cats so not sure. She is always ready to go and does great in the car.
