Good with dogs,
Story
Lovely, gentle Spruce has just landed and is ready to fill some lucky home with all the holiday cheer But first, a public service announcement So, you want to adopt an ADORABULL Frenchie (see what we did there ) French Bulldogs are not low-maintenance dogs They require patience with training, and daily mental and physical engagement, especially when theyre young. They are playful, opinionated, and full of energy, not couch ornaments.Frenchies thrive in homes that understand the breed and are ready for the commitment.Additionally, although SUPER cute and so yummy & silly, most of our dogs have come from yucky backyard greeders and so, will 100% need to have owners committed to their unique long-term care, health, and wellbeing. Here are just a couple of things that we need to ensure every French Bulldog adopter understands and is comfortable with. All Frenchies MUST HAVE A FULL-SERVICE vet and at MINIMUM an ANNUAL vet appointment. Big-box store vets or mobile/discount shot services are just not going to cut it. Here's the BIG ONE: thanks to their breeding, ALL Frenchie parents have to be ready to manage and IMMEDIATELY treat an episode of IVDD:IVDD 411 All Frenchie parents must be willing to make the time for daily maintenance and grooming: our Frenchies love their spa time and need (at minimum) all of those folds and crevices cleaned that make them so dang cute. It's a sign of your commitment and care. Bulldog adopters have to be willing to administer eye drops; all those folds make for grumpy eyelids. Last but not least, all lucky bulldog parents should expect to manage the ongoing cost of all the goodies associated with loving a bulldog: including but not limited to: high-quality food, eye drops, medicated shampoo, monthly heartworm prevention, fun toys, vet care, and endless scritches and cuddles (This last one is free) PHEW - that's a list, but these guys are so worth it. Your commitment will be rewarded with the love and joy these Frenchies bring into your life. Once you go Bulldog, there's no going back to 'regular' dogs If you're IN, please read on about this gorgeous pup! Spruce is just such a NICE guy.Honestly, he's THAT dog that just seems like he's always been there. He's tooth-achingly sweet, and look at the earnest little face. It's like he's staring into your soul and REALLY wants to know how you're doing. And, no matter the answer, he is there for it. Apply now to avoid missing out on this gift for Christmas Lovely Boi is heartworm-positive, so he must stay close to our vets for his treatment.Don't worry; heartworm infection is way LESS scary than it sounds, and our team will provide all guidance for his care. We should maybe have called this little girl Mariah (yes, of the single-name fame).Because:1 This girl is a D-I-V-A2 This DIVA has PIPES Seriously, Minette can hit the notes, and she will TELL YOU if you are not pampering her properly, or giving her what she wants fast enough, and do NOT ask her how she feels about going to the vet...She has THE BEST Frenchie singing voice (IYKYK) Minette WAS someone's dog.She lived in a home with a family, presumably for the majority of her life. But, when her 'family' decided that she was no longer convenient, they threw her out like so much trash. They literally locked her in a cage and left her beside a dumpster. Really, who's the trash in that situation..? Minette is everything that we love about a senior dog.Settled, sweet, potty trained, and all couch potato just waiting to welcome you home. We're still getting to know this little girl's preferences, but we do know that she would LOVE to have her very own home for the holidays.Minette is taking names NOW! Story
SAVED, and saved, and saved AGAIN If you've not been keeping up, check out Miss Lucy's story hereand here. We'll wait... There's the moment that dogs come into rescue, when they are literally saved from certain death (so dramatic, but true). THEN, there are the unfolding moment (s) when, thanks to the love and care of amazing fosters, a dog starts to understand they are saved and can begin to become themselves. So, our little Lucy is a THAT girl. She FINALLY knows that she is saved and is now a dog, a 180 from the girl we thought she was.YES, she had a rocky start AND, now, she is a confident, fun, whack-a-do lil' frenchie girl ready for her best life! Listen, Lucy will always have some noisy bulldog breathing (and should have a bulldog-savvy family). She will truly never, ever be a go-everywhere, brewery-and-chill girl. And she IS, still, much more of an a/c-and-spa-treatment vibe kinda girl. BUT, within her safe, happy home, we know that Lucy NEEDS at least one more friendly, playful, lovely dog to call her own (she would not say no to TWO sweet doggos who LOVE friends) and she is ready for fun She is sweet, sassy, and easy, and we are so, so grateful to have saved her Lucy is ready for HER home for the holidays, apply NOW     To see more of our dogs, please go to https://austinbulldogrescue.com to see who is available and to learn how to get involved with ABR.

Story
We took in Hina from a friend of ours back in September, 2026. She made 8 months on January 12th, 2026. Unfortunately we had to make a few life decisions recently and will be away from home for extended periods of time and we won’t be able to provide a home for her. We want to find her a loving home before that. Hina is a sweetheart and loving little pupster who wants to be apart of everything happening around the house. Snuggles are a requirement of hers. No issues with her being aggressive, but she does get very excited around dogs and people and thinks everyone wants to play. Have not had her professionally trained but she gets a lot of the basics and is a quick learner. House trained, but not 100% perfect, has an accident once in a while. She really has been a wonderful addition to our family and an excellent foot warmer. We would like to find her a family who will love her as much as she will love you. Please feel free to ask any questions I can answer!

Story
Sweet Amber is another Spindletop survivor from last summer's raid and seizure. They killed her friend Stella who was also boarded there. Amber is a special soul. She is a loving and wonderful companion. She is funny and squatty with her red satin-teen collar and will lay around all day if you let her. She loves watching tv with you and just being with humans. Amber is super trained, does down, leave it, off and walks wonderfully on lead. She is as charming and quirky as they come and a truly special dog. Amber, like all of the Animals First and Reunion Rescue dogs, is crate and house-trained, raw fed and homeopathically treated. We have a wonderful foster to adopt program and lifetime guarantee for all our dogs. Please contact doggirl1@earthlink.net to arrange a meet and greet with Amber at the Reunion Rescue No-Kill Refuge.   Visit Amber on Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/pages/Help-Amber-and-Stella-abused-in-Houston/137819022958959?fref=tsMay 22, 2024, 5:48 am
