PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. To see more pictures of this dog, please visit our Facebook page and look under “photos” and then “albums”. 4-year-old male Manchester Terrier, about 20 pounds. Prince lives up to his name. He really is a little Prince. He loves to play, take walks, run in the yard, sleep under the covers, and snuggle. Prince truly is a lap dog. He is a very good boy and loves being told so. When you tell him he is a “good boy,” he gets super excited. He is a great listener and takes commands very well. He is exceptionally smart and capable of learning most anything. Currently, he knows come, sit, and laydown. We have been working on “place,” but are not quite there yet. He also knows how to use a doggy door. He is very food motivated, which has been great for training. He also gets lots of compliments on walks for just how pretty he is. He is a handsome boy. Prince is one of those dogs that is energetic but also knows how to relax. A bed is his third favorite place to be, just behind laying outside on the grass in the sunshine or sitting on your lap. Prince would do best in a house with adults only, a yard to play in and walks, daily to a few days a week. Prince is a bit of an escape artist. He will need a home with a securely fenced yard. We are talking 5-6 foot fence with no escape routes, including gaps near the ground or any thing he can use as a boost. He is very savvy and curious about the world outside of your home, which is also why he loves walks. While he does not bark a lot, he does if he sees a neighbor, especially one with a dog, and delivery folks, so shared walls may not be ideal if you live in a busy area. He is great with other dogs. We have 5 others with him now of varying sizes, ages, and attitudes, and he does well with them all. He is very respectful of other dogs’ boundaries and needs. But he would also be a great only dog. He loves to be the center of attention. He has been in rescue ever since he was given up as a puppy, which means he is still learning how to socialize best with humans. This is really only an issue with brand new people and strangers. He will need to be slowly and carefully introduced to new people at first. He is very protective of you and your home. Once he gets to know you, however, you become his favorite person in the world. Prince wants nothing more than to please those he loves. Prince really is a super sweet, loving boy that with a little more training and patience will be the perfect companion. Story
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. 3.5-year-old female Manchester Terrier/Min Pin mix, about 16 pounds. "La La Lasagna Pasta Face", as her foster calls her, is a sweet and loyal girl. She loves to cuddle and follow you around the house. She is timid with new people but warms up quickly. She does fine with other dogs that ignore her and she tends to stick to herself in the yard. But she is very protective of HER person and doesn't want other dogs nearby. So being an only dog in the house will suit her just fine. Or you can train her to share! She can scale a 4-foot fence, but not to run away, just to find another way into the house when HER human is inside. She will go out to do her business and want to come right back in to snuggle or play. She has some energy and would love to go for a walk. It is likely that a cat might get chased and she really needs to be in an adult only home. To request an adoption application, email smidgetrescue@hotmail.com Adoption contract and fee applies.
