A bit about Obi- Likes meeting new people- Okay with children- he is selective about his dog friends, may be best as the only dog in the house- Not good with cats.Obi is a loyal, affectionate companion who loves being close to his people. He thrives on togetherness, enjoys learning new things, and is more than happy to follow you from room to room. He's also an A+ snuggler-his favorite moments are spent curled up under a shady tree while you read, watch the clouds, or enjoy a cozy nap together.Obi does like to use his voice and will bark (loudly!) when he hears or sees something interesting. Because of this, he hasn't been successful in homes where he shares a wall with neighbors. He knows some basic commands and is eager to please, though he is strong and sometimes uses his size to get his way. He's currently a bit on the plump side, so a healthy diet and some extra activity will do him well. With his strength, smarts, loyalty, and snuggly personality, Obi will make a wonderful partner for an active person or family who also appreciates slow, lazy afternoons together. Please fill out our pre-adoption questionnaire (linked below) if you would like to know more about Obihttps://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: Black Weight: 55.6 Age: 5yrs 0mths 1wks

Meet Fifi! 🖤🤍 This gorgeous 5-year-old shepherd–husky mix (70 lb of fluff and opinions) is ready to find her perfect match! Fifi is a loyal, low-energy companion who mostly wants to be near her humans — ideally supervising you from the couch while giving you her signature side-eye of approval. 👀💕 Fifi is kennel and house-trained, loves her stuffies, and will proudly collect any dirty socks left within reach. She'll even treat you to a celebratory zoomie lap after every successful potty break — it's her thing, and she's very dedicated about it. 🏃‍♀️💨 While Fifi may be able to befriend other dogs with slow, gentle socialization, she's looking for a home without kids or cats. She can be cautious and reactive on walks, so she does best with a calm, confident handler (and a halti, after she gets used to it) to help her feel secure. Her heart, though? Pure gold. A soft girl who loves peanut butter, apples, and cozying up with her people, Fifi is searching for someone patient and understanding — someone who sees the magic in a quirky, loyal companion. If you're ready for a snuggly sidekick with a goofy streak, Fifi would love to meet you. 💛🐶

Story
Meet Maverick 🐾 If you're looking for a handsome, loyal, fun-loving pal look no further! Meet Mav, Mavy or (when you really want his attention) Maverick! The goofiest, smartest boy around! This tall, dark and handsome boy enjoys long walks on the beach, rolling in grass, cuddles, puzzle games, eating wood chips, naps and above all, fetch! He is the kinda guy that is keen to run around with you one minute and rot on the couch the next - truly a best of both worlds kind of dog. At one and a half, Mav has a lot of puppy silliness in him, but with the listening skills and stoicism of an adult. This studious boy can do it all trick wise and is always keen to learn more, in fact he thrives on it! Maverick is crate trained, but has also done great when left out alone (during the day and night). He loves a car ride, with his giant tongue (great for sneaky kisses) and head out the window. He is great with people but shows his best self when introduced calmly. He lets you know when he needs to go out but also thrives on a good routine of outside time. He walks best on a halty and will do anything for a treat, but don't worry! He also knows boundaries when it comes to food and doesn't resource guard. Because of his lack of early socialization, Maverick can get a little reactive on leash when he sees other dogs. But here's the truth: he's been working hard on this, and with consistency and a confident person to guide him, he continues to improve. When it comes to doggy friends, Maverick does best with proper introductions, and once he has them, he can absolutely enjoy the right canine buddy by his side. This is skill he needs to work on but he's showing great progress! Maverick's best home would be one without cats. While we haven't allowed him the chance to chase, his instincts suggest that temptation may be there. His ideal day? A nice big morning walk, followed by breakfast and some snuggles. A couple mid day pee breaks if you're home (he's okay until you get home if not) and some more play time and pets. If you're feeling fancy, a swim is always his idea of a good time. Then an evening of supper and another walk, of course ending with some good snoozes on the couch. A true diva 💅🏼 Mavy loves being brushed, facials (aka face gentle face pets) and getting his nails done (clipped) - gotta keep up appearances. He's truly the best boy, and is looking for a forever home that has the time and patience to give cuddles, let him sniff walk and roll in some nice, lush grass. Maverick is the complete package and is beloved by all those that meet him. Apply today to see for yourself 🌞

Story
Meet Minnow, a 6 year old, 55 pound German Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her sweet personality. 😍 This beauty is equal parts cuddly companion and quirky entertainer and she's ready to charm her way into a forever home. Minnow is wonderfully smart, affectionate and eager to please - especially when treats are involved. 😁 She enjoys her walks (with a little excited pep at first) but settles beautifully and listens well when you have a tasty reward in hand. 😋 She's fully potty trained, hasn't needed a crate in ages and is a great housemate who loves lounging around and relaxing by your side. She's not a chewer, though she will volunteer as your personal countertop inspector if snacks are left out. 🙃 Minnow is good with older children and adores being doted on with belly rubs, scratches and snuggles. When it comes to other dogs, she prefers to keep her circle small....she can be reactive around medium to large dogs, but once she knows a dog well, she's quite indifferent. She can be protective of her food so a bit of continued guidance around mealtimes will help her feel comfortable and confident. Minnow has a high prey drive so she would not be suitable for a home with cats. Her special quirks make her truly unforgettable: she loves stretching out in the grass like a sunbathing pancake, has an adorable "singing voice" she proudly shares when an ambulance goes by and can impressively balance along raised platforms like a four-legged acrobat. Minnow also loves treats (even veggies) and makes a cheerful, ever-hopeful sous-chef in the kitchen. ☺️ Minnow would thrive in a home where she can be your loyal walking buddy, couch companion and kitchen helper. With her big personality, soft heart and endless charm, Minnow is ready to bring joy, laughter and lots of love to a family who will treasure her!
