Get ready for the Summer Storm!Known as Stormy for short, this fluffy bundle of lovely is looking for a calm, kind, and caring household to live out the rest of her years in style. She's had a stressful lil life so far but that doesn't stop her from dishing out the cutest little kisses known to man, and to dog!She would do best in a home with chill dogs to help her learn how to relax, as this gal seems to suffer from some anxiety! But with positive reinforcement she'll have the confidence of her ancestors back in no time!Summer Storm truly is a storm of sunshine and rainbows, with her happy face and sweet cuddles, and she could melt any ice cream cone with her warm heart. Her big fluffy coat will require lots of quality time spent sitting outside with a brush in one hand and some treats in the other, like a doggy picnic full of fur! Her big brain will also require daily stimulation! Weather it's a frozen kong, a treat ball, a nice walk, or something to chew on while she soaks in the sunshine.Looking for your own ray of sunshine that never dims? Come meet Summer Storm today, or apply online if you're already stuck in the storm!!https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-east-kootenay/ Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: Black Weight: 34.5 Age: 6yrs 8mths 0wks

Story
Meet Sigi! She is a sweet 1 1/2 year old German Shepherd. Sigi was surrendered along with her cute litter of 10 week old puppies. Now that she is done nursing and her puppies have left, she's excited to meet her forever family and settle into the life of a family pet and companion!Sigi is a beautiful girl who's well mannered. She is very smart and knows basic commands like sit, stay and shake a paw. She is the perfect dog for adventures outside and walks in the park or cuddles on the couch. She will be a loyal friend, who is quick to learn new tricks and eager to please.Sigi is dog selective and, while she can make friends with some dogs, she does not get along with dogs who are assertive or play roughly. If you're looking or a dog to go to the dog park with, she's probably not the one for you! She is not suitable for a home with young children as she can be overstimulated by lots of loud noises and activity and becomes quite jumpy and mouthy. PLEASE NOTE: This dog is located on the Sunshine Coast and travel via BC Ferries is required to adopt. Appointments are preferred to adopt one of our animals. Please speak with shelter staff prior to visiting our branch. Please follow these steps if interested in adoption!1. View the animal's profile at adopt.spca.bc.ca 2. Submit an application https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-sunshine-coast/ 3. If it's a match, staff will contact you to set up an appointment for a meet & greet. 4. Live happily fur-ever after!*Side note: the more you add to your application (the last question) about you and what you are looking for in a canine companion, the better we can match animals with adopters! Story
Hi everyone, I am cool Kobe and here's some information about me: Breed: German ShepardAge: 3 (Turns 4 in August)Gender: maleWeight: 100 lbsHeight: approximately 3 ft paw to shoulder I am moderately energetic and athletic and have no health concerns. Sometimes I can get quite excited and occasionally I'll tug on the leash, but what can I say? I just love walks so much! My favourite place in the whole world is the woods, exploring all the interesting smells and sounds of the various local hiking trails. Summertime is the best and I love to sunbathe and lounge around the rivers. I really am an outdoorsy kind of guy, just waiting for the next adventure! When I can't go out, I enjoy playing with my chew toys and balls. I am always keen to receive some pets and I get along with humans and kids alike. When I was younger, I was however bullied by some larger dogs, which makes me cautious of big dogs, but I am ok with smaller dogs. In terms of house training, I have learnt how to knock on the door, to request being let out, how polite! In a sad turn of events,  my owner recently passed away from cancer, so I am looking for a new home and family. Will you be my best hiking buddy? Energy level: Medium to highI get along withDogs: Yes for small ones, cautious about larger dogsCats: UnknownKids: Yes Fears: I am cautious around larger dogs but I am receiving training on that. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Training: currently in training program through Arfarfbarkbark.Leash skills: In progress. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home. I can hold over night or when you are out. Health notes: I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.   ##2035244##
