Meet Susie - A Sweet Soul Ready for a Fresh StartSusie hasn't had the easiest journey. Her life so far has been marked by change and uncertainty, without the consistency and security every dog deserves. But despite it all, she's never lost her gentle spirit and loving heart. This beautiful girl is eager to please and absolutely adores being around people. Whether it's snuggling on the couch, following you from room to room, or simply sitting nearby, Susie is happiest when she's with her humans. She craves connection and thrives on attention-she just wants to love and be loved in return. Susie also really loves going for rides in the car, and loves going for hikes. She would be thrilled to have an active owner who can take her on adventures. Susie does have some allergies, so she's on a strict hypoallergenic diet to help keep her healthy and comfortable. With the right food and care, she feels her best and is able to enjoy life to the fullest. What Susie needs now is a calm, stable home with a patient and consistent owner who can show her what it means to feel truly safe and cherished. With kindness, routine, and a little time, she's sure to blossom into the loyal and loving companion she was always meant to be.If you're someone who believes in second chances and has the heart to help a deserving dog heal and thrive, Susie might just be your perfect match. If you think Susie Q could be your perfect match, please submit a pre-adoption questionnaire here: https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 35.5 Age: 3yrs 10mths 0wks

Story
Meet Nicholas: Nicholas and his siblings were abandoned at just a few days old and have since spent a great deal of time in a loving foster home. His foster said that "Nicholas will steal your heart (and your socks!)". He is the perfect blend of energetic adventurer and sweet cuddle bug. Whether he's chasing his favorite squeaky toy or curling up at your feet after a long play session, he just wants to be where the people are.Nicholas has shown some food resource guarding, specifically around his food bowl. While in our Centre, we have made good progress reducing this behaviour through consistent, positive training; however, it is important that an adopter is willing and able to continue this work at home, as the behaviour could return or worsen without reinforcement. This is especially important since Nicholas is expected to grow into a large dog, making unmanaged resource guarding more concerning. In the Centre, we address this by calmly interacting with his food during meals: adding high‑value treats to his bowl, briefly removing the bowl and replacing it with something better, or taking the bowl to add a treat before returning it. This is repeated several times per meal to help Nicholas learn that people near his food is a positive thing. The BC SPCA recommends working with an AnimalKind trainer if additional training support after adoption is desired.Due to his size and energy level, an active home without young children would set Nicholas up best for success. If you think Nicholas would be a good fit for your home, please come and meet him!Walk-ins are prioritized. We are open to walk in's Tuesday - Saturday 12 pm -4 pm (except for Stat Holidays). In order to prepare for your visit, you can submit a Pre-Adoption Questionnaire as well at;https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Black Weight: 12.78 Age: 0yrs 3mths 1wks

Story
Meet Fifi! 🖤🤍 Some dogs take a little longer to find their forever, not because they're any less amazing, but because they're waiting for the right person. That's our girl Fifi. And she is so very deserving of a home. Fifi is a stunning 5-year-old shepherd–husky mix (about 70 lbs of fluff, personality, and loyalty) who thrives in a calm, structured environment. She's low-energy, deeply devoted to her people, and happiest simply being near you, supervising from the couch with her signature side-eye, of course. 👀💕 She's fully house and kennel trained, loves her toys (especially stuffies and rope toys), and has a goofy streak that shines through once she's comfortable. She's the kind of dog who will proudly celebrate a potty break with a zoomie lap and quietly steal a sock if you leave it unattended. 🏃‍♀️💨 Fifi does best with routine and consistent handling, and she's been working hard on her leash skills. She can be leash reactive, so she'll need a confident, patient adopter who is committed to continuing her training and helping her feel safe on walks. She does well with other dogs with proper introductions and may even love having a calm canine companion in her next home. She's looking for a cat-free home though. Fifi's heart is pure gold, a soft, loyal companion who loves cozy moments, peanut butter, and being part of someone's world. If you're ready for a meaningful bond with a truly special girl, Fifi is ready for you. 💛🐾

🌸 Meet Your Perfect Little Shadow Pup 🌸 This calm, loving little girl is the definition of a heart-stealer. She adores being close to her people and happily follows her humans from room to room — the ultimate shadow pup. She loves her daily sniff-ari's, chasing balls, playing with her toys, and then curling up for cozy snuggles once playtime is done. She has a wonderful balance of playful energy and calm companionship. She's fantastic with her fur foster brothers — plays sweetly, respects boundaries, and fits right in with canine friends. 🚗 Car Ride Champion! She travels beautifully in the car and almost instantly settles in for a snooze as soon as the wheels start turning. 🌙 Nighttime Pro She sleeps soundly in her crate overnight, typically waking only once for a quick potty break before heading right back to sleep. Daytime crating is a work in progress, and she's learning more each day. 🚪 Potty Training Progress Potty training is coming along nicely! She will go to the door to let you know she needs to go out — you just have to be quick 😉 If you're looking for a gentle, affectionate companion who will happily be by your side through every part of the day, this sweet girl might just be your perfect match. 💗
