Story
We got our lovely dog from a breeder when he was one year old and he is currently three years old. Unfortunately, we can’t take care of him due to my severe allergies. Because of his past, he gets very weary around strangers and will bark at them. But after spending time with him, he is the most affectionate dog you will ever see! What I am looking for is a home that understand that because of his past, his behavior is like this, and finds the patience, love, and training to help him socialize more with people and other dogs. He will be the type of that is super protective of the family. He needs someone who actually will wants him now matter. He is the type of dog to be only sweet to the family, he only needs a chance. It would mean the world to him and my family if we could find a new home for him! But to have him you actually want to have him since he is not easy with strangers until he get's used to them.

Story
Hi- I found this guy about a month ago and have been nursing him back to health. He was dragging a heavy chain, and a belt used as a collar that was on very tightly. He was underweight by about 25 lbs per my vet. He now has a proper collar and harness and is doing well. He loves to run and play ball. He is learning to walk on a leash. He seems to have all the traditional German Sheperd traits, very smart and alert. He is under 2 years old, not chipped, not yet neutered. He loves personal attention. I have a reactive dog, so I need to find this guy a loving home.

Story
I'm looking to rehome my 2 year old female, German Shepherd Mastiff mix. She's had some training and most of her shots. She is due for her updated shots. Dior is very friendly and loving, good with small dogs and children. I need a loving home and someone who can spend time with her, because she loves attention and very energetic. It truly breaks my heart to give her up, but I can't care for her any longer due to severe back issues.

Story
We bought Doc from a breeder in McDonough, Ga in 2018. He is 5 1/2 years old, his birthday is June 15th, 2018. Doc has been through a few training courses and knows several basic commands: sit, stay, come, etc. He is also house trained. Doc was also fixed when he was a year old. Doc is a very energetic dog that needs lots of exercise. He is very curious and loves to follow you around the house. Doc enjoys squeaky toys and chewing them up but is very good about not chewing anything else. He does bark at people and loud noises. Doc is also known to have anxiety and some behavioral issues with strangers and our young son. He would not do well in a house with young children. Ideally Doc would be best suited for someone who can give him a lot of exercise and attention. He will always be right by your side if you let him!

Story
Sadie is German Shepherd. We acquired her after my mother-in-law couldn't keep up with the her anymore due to age. Sadie is 10 years old and has black and tan hair. Future new owners should be pet free (at least through observations with her and our other dog) as she is skittish and anxious around certain people/animals. Once she becomes accustomed to you (usually females because she stayed near my wife most times) she will tend to become less anxious. Sadie has had medical issues with her bladder. Recently she has been urinating/defacating inside the house frequently, even at random times of the day/night.

Star is a beautiful Shepherd mix, and our staff says she's a great dog! She's housetrained and good with people, including children. She's also good with other dogs here at the shelter, so bring yours over for a meet-and-greet! Cats aren't her thing, so she needs a home without them. She's about 6 years old and loves to play tug-of-war. She's already spayed, microchipped and up to date on her shots -- ready and eager to be your best friend forever. Please come on over and meet our shining Star!

Story
Handsome Koa is a German Shepherd mix who has made substantial progress toward overcoming earlier trauma in his life, and needs a patient owner who can help him feel safe and loved. He came to us in a mass rescue of German Shepherd dogs from a Georgia cruelty/hoarding case. Terrified when he arrived, he benefited greatly from a foster family who helped him fight his fears. Our staff describes his personality now as shy and reserved, and we think he'd do better in a quiet home environment away from the unavoidable stress of a shelter. They say he's "super-housetrained" and does well on his walks; if you have a dog, please bring them over for a meet-and-greet. He's about 7 years old, with a cream-colored coat. He's also neutered, microchipped and up to date on his shots. If you're an understanding "dog person" with the time and love to help Koa become the best dog he can be, please come meet him and let our staff tell you all about him, or call us at 904-321-1647 for more information. Koa will love you for it.

Story
Luca is a beautiful Shepsky (dad german shepard, mom husky) that we have had since he was a puppy. Luca is about 5 1/2 now and weighs around 80 lbs. He is very friendly and energetic. He has grown up with another dog about his size and a cat. He loves to chase the cat but backs down instantly. We love him to death but have a little one now and are planning for another. Luca believes he is a puppy still and wants all the attention that we are unable to give him anymore. He is "compatible" with the doggy daycares that we have brought him to. He is house trained and will sleep in a crate. Do not be intimidated by his piercing blue eyes, Luca has never hurt anyone or any animal. We hope to find him a new family to love and provide him with the environment he requires.
