Story
Bella is approximately 3 years old and is a German Shepherd mix. She is: - Spayed - Up to date on vaccinations - House trained using a dog door - Crate trained as a puppy - Raised in a home with children and good with kids - Good with other dogs - Extremely intelligent, affectionate and food motivated - Trained in sit, stay, sit pretty, shake, high five, lay down and leave it Bella is incredibly smart, loving and loyal. She is naturally alert and will bark when she notices something unfamiliar outside or feels something deserves attention. She can also become excited and jump when initially meeting someone, so continuing to reinforce good greeting manners would be beneficial. She has a huge personality and loves affection—and especially giving kisses.

Story
Hi my name is Jinx! I am almost 7 months old. I was rescued off the street at 3 weeks old. I am a German shepherd and husky mix. I am looking for a home that will be able to take me on many adventures! I am very loyal and happy and love to go on walks and chew on sticks! I get along well with other dogs! I would love to join a new pack! Jinx is the sweetest! We saved her for a chance at life but our situation has changed and we are unable to care for her. I hope someone can give this baby the amazing life she deserves!

Story
Meet Your New Best Friend 🐾💙 This sweet boy has been an absolute joy in his foster home! He’s affectionate, playful, gentle, and happiest when he gets to be part of whatever his people are doing. His favorite things include belly rubs, snuggling, ear scratches, squeaky toys, tug ropes, and bedtime walks. ❤️ He’s also incredibly trusting when it comes to handling and grooming. His foster family can touch his paws, check his teeth and ears, and groom him without any fuss. He’s learning crate training like a champ, sleeps in his crate at night, rides nicely in the car, and walks beautifully on leash. 🐶 Other dogs? He plays well with his canine foster siblings! 🐱 Cats? He’s definitely curious about them, but so far he hasn’t shown any aggression toward them. 👨‍👩‍👧 People? This guy knows no strangers when it comes to adults and does wonderfully with older kids. Younger children make him a little nervous, but with slow, thoughtful introductions, he’s learning that they’re okay too. This handsome one-eyed guy can be a little anxious and really prefers having his people nearby. He’s very observant and likes to keep tabs on everything happening around him. Because he only has one eye, he can also be startled if someone approaches unexpectedly from his blind side. A little warning that you’re coming is all he needs! Training with him is all about praise, affection, and encouragement. Treats can be hit-or-miss, but tell him he’s a good boy and give him some pets and he’s happy! And there is one food that definitely has his vote: peanut butter. 🥜😂 More than anything, he’s a loving boy who wants companionship, reassurance, and a family to call his own. Give him some patience, make room beside you for a professional snuggler, and keep the belly rubs coming—you’ll have one very happy pup. 💙🐾

Story
Dixie Mill is a shy, calm girl who takes a little time to feel comfortable, but once she does, her sweet side shines through. Dixie Mill enjoys playing fetch with staff and visitors and quietly appreciates gentle attention. She is human oriented and is a great walker. Her ideal home would be a quiet, patient environment where she can settle in at her own pace and build trust on her terms. She would do best with someone who wants a dog that can just chill next to them and go for walks. She is not good with cats and is selective about her dog friends. She would do great in a home with no other animals. With understanding and love, Dixie Mill will make a wonderful, loyal companion.Dixie Mill is about 7 years old and weighs 67 pounds.Part of Dixie Mill's adoption fee has been paid for so her adoption fee is $150. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting a dog, please stop by the shelter during open hours. Dogs may be in a foster home, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended. If you have an existing dog at home, we recommend bringing it along to meet your possible new family member.helpingstrays.org
