**A VERY GENEROUS DONOR IS SPONSORING $175 OF SHELBY'S ADOPTION FEE, ALONG WITH THE FEES OF HER LITTERMATES, TO REDUCE THEIR ADOPTION FEES TO $300 IN HOPES THEY'LL FIND THEIR FOREVER FAMILIES SOON!** Are you ready to add some fun and excitement to your life? Say hello to Shelby, an energetic pup filled with curiosity, enthusiasm, and love. This playful girl is a bundle of joy, always eager for adventure and ready to explore. Shelby is a friendly girl who loves making friends with every human and dog she meets! Her cheerful, upbeat, charismatic personality brightens any space she enters, and she will be the sunshine and love of your home. Shelby was rescued from an overwhelmed animal control facility in rural Kentucky, along with her six littermates, when they were just eight weeks old. Shelters and rescues across the US are facing a crisis, as adoption rates have slowed significantly over the past 18 months, while surrenders and intake numbers have been rising. In previous years, puppies in shelters and rescues were usually adopted quickly, often as soon as they became available. Unfortunately, in the past year, it has become more common for friendly, adoptable dogs, including puppies, to remain in shelters or foster homes for several months before finding a family. As victims of this current shelter and rescue crisis, Shelby and two of her remaining littermates have grown up in foster care while waiting for their forever homes. These sweet pups are more than ready and eager to find the loving, permanent families they deserve. Shelby will turn 1 in mid-March and weighs just over 50 pounds. She will grow into a larger dog (60-70 pounds) when fully mature. A DNA test on two littermates shows their breed mix as 35% Bluetick Coonhound, 27% German Shepherd, 23% Husky, and 15% Staffordshire Terrier. She's making good progress with crate training and housebreaking, but is still a pup learning the ropes. Potential adopters should expect to continue her training and provide the guidance and structure all young dogs need to develop into the best canine citizens they can be as adults. She's smart as a whip and eager to please, making training sessions with Shelby enjoyable. Shelby is a dog with heart and spirit, curious about the world and always ready for new adventures. She will make a wonderful and loyal companion for an active family! Shelby is fostered in Chicago, and meet-and-greets are by appointment only after an adoption application has been received and approved. For more information or to apply, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit our website at palsplacerescue.org. Correspondence from the rescue may end up in spam or junk folders. Please check these folders regularly if waiting for a response. Shelby's adoption fee is $300 (reduced from $475 thanks to a generous sponsorship). This fee helps cover her medical expenses while in our care. She is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, and on monthly flea and heartworm preventatives. • All of our dogs reside in foster homes, and meetings are arranged by appointment only after our adoption application has been completed and approved. For more information or to apply, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit our website at palsplacerescue.org. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for more than three days after an application has been received and approved for a meeting. Please do not apply to adopt unless you are ready to welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying. ADOPTION APPLICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE FROM THE RESCUE MAY END UP IN YOUR SPAM OR JUNK FOLDER. If you are waiting for our reply, please check those folders regularly. • Shelby's adoption fee is $300. This fee helps cover any medical care needed to prepare her for adoption. Pal's Place relies solely on adoption fees and donations to care for the animals in our rescue. Your donation helps save other dogs like her from euthanasia. • Please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com for an adoption application and include the dog's name in the subject line. Remember to check your spam or junk folder, as applications sometimes end up there. We are a volunteer-run organization, and we aim to respond to all inquiries within 24-48 hours. Please be patient, as it may take longer to get a reply. • All of our dogs are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment only after an approved application is received. ** A VERY GENEROUS DONOR IS SPONSORING $175 OF STANLEY'S ADOPTION FEE, ALONG WITH THE FEES OF HIS LITTERMATES, TO REDUCE THEIR ADOPTION FEES TO $300 IN HOPES THEY'LL FIND THEIR FOREVER FAMILIES SOON!** Sweet, social, and steadfast are just a few words to describe Stanley, a wonderful pup searching for his forever family. His delightful, gentle demeanor wins over all who meet him, and he'll be a phenomenal companion for almost any home. Stanley is playful, curious, and engaging, but is also more mellow and observant than some of his littermates. He'll make an ideal pup for a household looking for a fun-loving dog who is always up for a long walk or game of fetch, but also one who knows how to settle down and doesn't need constant entertainment. His mild-mannered, easy-going, and loving personality will fill one lucky home with limitless companionship and joy. Stanley was initially rescued from an overwhelmed animal control facility in rural Kentucky, along with his six littermates, when they were just eight weeks old. Shelters and rescues across the US are in crisis, adoptions have slowed considerably over the past 18 months, and surrenders and intakes are way up. In previous years, puppies in shelters and rescues were generally adopted quickly, often as soon as they became available. Unfortunately, over the past year, it has become more common for very friendly, adoptable dogs, including puppies, to remain in shelters or foster care for many months before adoption. Casualties of this current shelter and rescue crisis, Stanley and two of his remaining littermates have grown up in foster care while awaiting adoption. These sweet pups are more than ready and anxious to find the loving, forever families they so deserve. Stanley turns a year old in mid-March and is currently weighing in at 50 pounds. Stan will be a larger dog (60+ pounds) when fully mature. A DNA test performed on two littermates identifies their breed mix as 35% Bluetick Coonhound, 27%. German Shepherd, 23% Husky, 15% Staffordshire Terrier. Stanley loves a good run around the yard and game of fetch, but also loves lounging around and sunbathing on the deck. He's not a hyper or overly active dog; he's more mellow than many pups his age. Still, he is a puppy, and potential adopters expect to continue his training and provide the guidance, structure, patience, and love that all puppies and adolescent dogs need to develop into exceptional canine citizens as adults. Stanley is crate-trained and making good progress with his housebreaking when kept on a regular schedule. If Stanley sounds like the pup you've been searching for, please reach out today! He's anxious and eager to meet you. Stanley is fostered in Chicago, and meetings are arranged by appointment only after an adoption application has been received and approved. For more information or to apply, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit our website at palsplacerescue.org. Stanley's adoption fee is $300 (Reduced from $475 thanks to a generous sponsorship). This fee helps to cover his medical expenses while in our care. He is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date with age-appropriate vaccines, and is taking monthly flea/heartworm preventatives. **PLEASE NOTE** initial correspondence from our rescue may end up in your junk or spam folder. Please check regularly if you are awaiting a response from us. • All of our dogs reside in foster homes, and meetings are arranged by appointment only after our adoption application has been completed and approved for adoption. This tender-hearted and loyal girl will be your best friend and steadfast companion for life, and she's eager to meet you! Sable adores people and other dogs, and is a friendly face to every human and canine she meets. Story
Meet Cody – the joyful, tail-wagging adventure buddy you've been waiting for! This super happy and playful 6-month-old pup (that's our best estimate) was rescued from a truck stop just before Christmas by a kind friend, and he's been stealing hearts ever since. We've tried for months to find him his forever home, but with my two cats and another dog in the mix, I sadly can't keep him—even though I'd love to. Cody is microchipped, up to date on all his shots, crate-trained like a pro, and fully understands that potty time happens outside. He's bursting with energy, loves playtime, and has the most amazing, loyal personality that makes every day brighter. He deserves an active, loving person (or family) who will match his enthusiasm for adventures, cuddles, and endless fun. If you're ready for a devoted companion who will shower you with puppy kisses and joy, Cody could be the perfect addition to your life. Serious inquiries only—let's give this sweet boy the forever home.
