He’s a smart, loyal boy who forms strong bonds with his people and enjoys walks, outdoor adventures, and simply being by your side. Tez is looking for an adult-only home where he can be the only pet. While he can be social and playful with other dogs in outdoor or neutral environments, he prefers not to share his home or personal items. Tez has shown resource-guarding behaviors, meaning he may become protective over things like food. With clear boundaries, consistency, and an experienced adopter who can read dog body language, he manages well and continues to make progress. In the right environment, Tez is an incredibly devoted companion who will reward his person with loyalty, affection, and a lifelong friendship. Tez is an All-Star dog! His adoption comes with some extra benefits at time of adoption. Their adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and they will go home with their very own no-pull-harness and a few enrichment goodies to help get them off to a good start! Adoption Donation: $500 All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are recommended. Ernie is a 10-month-old Shepard / Husky mix. He is up to date with all vaccinations and has been neutered and has a microchip. He is smart and loves walks, Ernie is one of the gentlest dogs taking treats that I have ever known. Ernie has attended doggie daycare for socialization, but he can also be a handful. He is crate trained and sleeps at night in a crate. Ernie has way more energy than I have and needs someone with time to devote to him. Ernie loves the outside and to run. Ernie deserves an owner who can give him what he deserves and with my schedule that’s not always an option.

If yes, Pal's Place would love to introduce Sable, an incredibly affectionate and social gal with more love to give than you can imagine. This tender-hearted and loyal girl will be your best friend and steadfast companion for life, and she's eager to meet you! Sable adores people and other dogs, and is a friendly face to every human and canine she meets. She was rescued from an overwhelmed animal control facility in rural Kentucky, along with her six littermates, when they were just eight weeks old. Shelters and rescues across the US are facing a crisis: adoption rates have slowed considerably over the past 18 months, while surrenders and intake numbers have risen. In previous years, puppies in shelters and rescues were usually adopted quickly, often as soon as they became available. Unfortunately, in the past year, it has become more common than not for friendly, adoptable dogs, including puppies, to stay in shelters or foster homes for many months before finding a family. As victims of this current shelter and rescue crisis, Sable and four of her littermates, now approaching 10 months old, have grown up in foster care, waiting for their forever homes. These sweet pups are more than ready and eager to find the loving, forever families they deserve. Sable is close to 60 pounds now and still growing. We expect she'll weigh between 75 and 90 pounds when fully grown. A DNA test on two littermates reveals their breed mix as 35% Bluetick Coonhound, 27% German Shepherd, 23% Husky, and 15% Staffordshire Terrier. She's doing well with housebreaking and is crate trained, but she’s still a pup learning the ropes. Potential adopters should be prepared to continue her basic training and obedience. She's smart as a whip and eager to please, making training sessions fun and enjoyable. Sable is a dog with heart and spirit, curious about the world, and always ready for new adventures. She will make a wonderful and loyal companion for an active family! Sable is fostered in Chicago, and meet-and-greets are by appointment only after an adoption application has been received and approved.
