Story
Meet Maximo! Maximo, or Max/Maxi as we call him here, is a German Shepherd who is a good boy but needs a Shepherd savvy person in his life to help him be the best dog he can be. He is very sweet and when he loves you he LOVES you. He does have some fence/barrier reactivity which is common with Shepherds with people they don't know. He gets along with most dogs, but not all. He has lived with cats and small dogs and reportedly did fine and was surrendered due to a new baby coming into the home (we are told he doesn't love small children, but has lived with all older children without problems). He is housetrained and keeps his kennel clean here. He is a big boy and normally is around 80 lbs. His adoption fee is $120 and includes his neuter, microchip, vaccinations and negative heartworm test. Please call 630-553-9256 or email animalcontrol@Kendallcountyil.gov if you are interested in adopting.

Story
This beautiful 3-legged girl is Regina (Gina or GiGi for short) and she is a shepherd mix. Her mom is a shepherd mix, and we have no details on dad. She will likely be 50-60 lbs. when fully grown. Gina just celebrated her 1st birthday in March and is still awaiting her perfect forever family.  She is the sweetest, loveable, playful girl who loves chew bones and toys. She also enjoys running and playing with the other dogs in her foster home, and cuddle with her humans. Gina does most everything the 4-legged dogs do, but she does tire out a little quicker. She would do better with a few shorter walks rather than 1 long walk. Gina is doing very well with sit, down, stay and no commands. Gina is housetrained, however, she is used to consistent potty breaks. She is also kennel trained and keeps her kennel clean. She sleeps on a dog bed in her foster parents’ bedroom, and she doesn't make a peep. Gina can be a little reserved with strangers and new things but is doing better every day with regular outings for socialization. Gina is an absolute sweetheart and loves praise, rubs, and treats. Gina’s adoption fee is $300 and helps cover her amputation, spay, vaccines, microchip registration and heartworm and flea preventatives to date.
