Story
Boon is 10 months old and roughly 80 pounds. He is great with kids from baby’s to big kids. However he is not very fond of cats and he can give a rabbit a run for his money. He is house trained and crate trained. Unfortunately he has not spent much time on a leash so he will need some training. He is good with common commands (sit, leave it, down, come) but is young and can get distracted. Unfortunately at this time we are struggling to provide the care and attention he deserves due to unforeseen circumstances.

Story
At just four months old, this Mastiff/Shepherd mix has already come such a long way. Jimbo arrived to us as a very scared stray, pressing himself to the back of his kennel and unsure of the world around him. Everyday things we take for granted — leashes, gentle pets, toys, even slick floors — were completely new and overwhelming. He would often scoot under a desk to feel safe if someone approached him. But Jimbo has been bravely working on his confidence, and it has been incredible to watch him blossom. With patience and reassurance, he’s learning that hands bring kindness, leashes mean adventures, and people can be pretty wonderful. He now seeks out attention and absolutely loves soaking up gentle pets and praise. His soft eyes and growing tail wags tell the story of a puppy who is discovering that the world isn’t so scary after all. Jimbo does great with other dogs and gains confidence from his canine friends. He’s curious about cats but respectful of their space. As a Mastiff/Shepherd mix, he is going to be a big boy and will need room to stretch those long legs and continue growing into the gentle giant we know he’ll be. A home with space to roam and a family committed to continuing his confidence-building journey will help him thrive. Jimbo may have started out unsure, but he’s proving every day that with love and patience, he shines. If you’re ready to help a sensitive soul grow into his best self, Jimbo is waiting for you. His adoption fee is $200, which includes his vaccines, fecal exam, deworming, current flea prevention, registered microchip, and neuter. He is already fixed!   Rex is a stunning 2.5-year-old German Shepherd with a loyal heart and an eager spirit. At 78 lbs, he’s the perfect size for adventure—and snuggles! This handsome boy is looking for a loving, active home where he can be part of the family and enjoy plenty of time with his people. Rex is great with kids and other dogs, and while we’re not sure how he is with cats just yet, his easy going temperament suggests he could adjust well with the right introduction. He thrives on connection and would do best in a home where he’s not left alone for long stretches—he truly wants to be your companion in life’s everyday moments. Whether it's going for walks, playing in the yard, or just relaxing nearby, Rex is happiest when he’s part of the action. Story
Meet Barrett, a handsome 5-year-old German Shepherd weighing in at 82 lbs. This loyal boy is fully housebroken and ready to find his forever family. Barrett is the perfect mix of energetic and affectionate—he loves going for walks and spending time outdoors, especially in a securely fenced yard where he can explore and play to his heart’s content. He gets along well with cats and has done fine with other dogs. Because he can sometimes be a little mouthy when excited, Barrett would do best in a home without small children. He’ll thrive with an experienced owner who enjoys staying active and can provide structure, companionship, and lots of love. If you’re looking for a loyal adventure buddy who will also be your best friend, Barrett is your guy! The adoption fee of $350 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. Story
Luffy is a 31lbs, 1 year old, neutered, German Shepherd mix. Luffy was in a kennel all day and night long. He quickly found his feet and learned to walk up and down stairs and was overjoyed when he discovered what toys are. He did excellent in the bath and enjoyed a good teeth brush. He likes giving kisses and following you around with a toy wherever you go. He is house trained but much prefers you to be outside with him. I am sure he is nervous that we will leave him as he is not used to his new life of freedom. He does like to eat hangers when we are not at home. We bought some hard bones and that cured him of his hanger obsession. He is still learning that his foster family is not going anywhere at night and he does cry for a bit when in his crate. It doesn’t last long and he quietly sleeps through the night. When he hears us coming down the stairs, we can hear that tail going crazy in anticipation of seeing my five-year old. He is also so gentle and sweet with her. When a friend brought her dog over, Luffy was in heaven to have a friend his size to play with. He is full of energy and would do well with an active family with kids (age 8+).   If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  .
