Story
Meet Zeke! Zeke is a sweet, 3-year-old, 65lb cuddle bug who truly believes he’s a lap dog. He loves nothing more than snuggling with his people or going for a good run. He’s playful but past the puppy stage - the perfect balance of fun and calm. Zeke has lived with other dogs, a cat, and a young child. He’s a gentle, patient boy who has been wonderful with his toddler sibling and respectful of the cats space. He enjoys playtime, yard zoomies, and the occasional squirrel chase, but is also happy to relax at home with his family. His ideal home would have a fenced yard and could include other dogs. He does pull on leash at times, but walks well with a prong or training collar. Zeke is not overly food motivated and maintains a healthy weight even with free feeding. Zeke is a loving, loyal family dog looking for his new forever home. If you’re hoping for a snuggly companion who will adore you endlessly - Zeke is your guy. 💛

Story
She is just stunning! VooDoo is a 6-year-old shepherd mix*. She is a smart cookie and loves to learn new things. She is great on a leash and would make a great running or walking partner. VooDoo is friendly and loves everyone she meets. She is dog friendly. If you have one in your home, we require a meet and greet to be sure the fit is right. We think she would want to chase a cat so we recommend a home without felines. VooDoo is an energetic girl and we want her to have a fully fenced yard to run nd play in safely. We are just getting to know this beautiful girl so we will add information as we learn more. You can meet VooDoo on Saturdays from 10-2 at Dogs Forever, 809 Rockford Rd SW in Cedar Rapids IA. Please fill out an application using the link provided below prior to your visit so we can learn more about you and your home. https://dogsforever.org/adopting-from-dogs-forever/adoption-foster-form/ *BREED DISCLOSURE: The breed indicated is an educated guess and is not guaranteed.

Story
Meet Togo! *fostered in Cedar Rapids* Togo came to us from Wichita Animal Shelter as a stray and was sadly placed on the euthanasia list a few years ago. We were able to pull him to safety, and he was adopted by a family who invested time and training into him. Unfortunately the family had to return him due to a move so he is back with us. Togo is a German Shepherd/Husky mix, possibly with a bit of Malamute. From the Shepherd side, he gets his loyalty and intelligence. The Husky in him brings the personality — a little dramatic and very expressive. His Malamute traits show in his calm, sometimes aloof, and strong-willed nature. Togo already knows sit and down and has been working hard on polite leash walking and keeping all four paws on the ground instead of jumping. He is also potty trained and kennel trained, giving him a great foundation for an easy transition into his forever home. Togo is a big boy who doesn’t always realize his size, so he could accidentally knock someone over. Because of this, a home without small children would be best. He is extremely friendly and thrives around other dogs. Togo currently lives at a doggy daycare/boarding facility and absolutely loves to play, making him a great candidate for a home with other canine companions. He would love to continue going to doggie daycare to help burn off energy and keep him busy. While he can clear a 6-foot fence, he hasn’t attempted to at daycare. In his forever home, he will need supervision outside, and having another dog friend could help keep him happy and engaged in the yard. Things to know about Togo: • He can jump — and clear a 6-foot fence — if left unattended • He does best with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation • He wants to be part of a family and included in daily life (and yes, spoiled a little!) Togo is full of life, love, and personality. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun, devoted companion and are ready to keep up with this smart, active boy, Togo might just be your perfect match.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Tony, a smart and loyal 3 year old German Shepherd Husky mix! This handsome guy has the perfect mix of energy and heart, not to mention good looks, too!  He is dog and people friendly, always eager to make new friends he has done particularly well at doggie daycare even! Tony is still learning that not everyone on a walk needs a personal greeting, however with continued leash training, he will be a pro walking partner in no time!  At home, Tony is loyal and well-mannered. He is house trained and knows his basic commands like sit, stay, down, and focus. He is not one for cuddling on the couch or sleeping in bed, he seems to prefer a snooze on the floor nearby. He would love a home with a 6 foot tall fenced in yard where he can run and play safely. This young boy has energy to spare and would thrive with an active family or with continued doggie daycare even. Tony has never shown aggression and tends to be more submissive with other dogs, he has not been introduced to cats or young children. Tony's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, and current vaccinations and preventatives. Tony is seeking an indoor only home and Last Hope requires that all adopters have a history of having kept their pets altered and kept current on annual vaccinations/ monthly preventatives. If you would like to meet Tony, please submit an adoption application on our website, Adopthope.org.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 17, 2025, 4:52 pm

Story
Meet Noel 🐾 Age: 1–2 years Weight: 60 lbs Sex: Female *Located in Ankeny, IA* Noel is a smart, energetic young girl who loves to play, learn, and be part of the action. She’s crate trained, potty trained, and knows a great set of basic commands, making her a wonderful candidate for a forever home. Personality & Energy Noel has a medium energy level and absolutely loves running in the yard and playing ball. She enjoys dog puzzles and training sessions, and she settles well in calm households. When things are busy with lots of people, she may pace a bit before relaxing. Her favorite thing in the world? Big Jolly balls! She’ll sprint across the yard to pounce on them with both front feet—even though they’re too big for her mouth, she happily chomps away and kicks them free when they get stuck. Training & Manners Noel knows: Kennel, come, potty, sit, down, wait, quiet, and shake. She’s working on clicker conditioning, though she’s still a little unsure about the noise and quick hand movements with treats. On leash, she’s learning better manners and can pull at times. Based on her early behavior and a few neck scars, her foster suspects she may have been tethered in the past. Crate & Potty Training Noel does great in her kennel and goes in on command. She sleeps in her crate at night in a 48” Petmate Ultra Vari Kennel with a Primo Pad and blankets—no issues at all. She is fully potty trained. With Other Pets & Kids Noel is good with kids and absolutely adores her foster family’s child, remaining gentle and respectful. She’s currently working on building confidence around the other dog in her foster home and is making progress as she learns to trust. Out & About Noel is curious about new things and generally handles outings well. She only reacts to strange men, whether they are leashed or not. Otherwise, she hasn’t shown negative reactions to new environments or situations. Car Rides & Grooming She rides crated in the car perfectly and cooperates easily for bathing, blow drying, brushing, and grooming. She takes treats and toys gently. She is great with a nail grinder! The Cute Stuff 💕 Noel’s love for oversized Jolly balls is legendary. Watching her launch herself at one with both front paws, chomping away despite the size, is pure entertainment. She’s playful, affectionate, and eager to please—an absolute joy to have around.
