Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Louie is a young German Shepherd mix male, around 3 years old.  He bonds quickly to people, and is a very smart dog so will respond well to an experienced dog owner who can provide him structure and positive guidance!  Louie knows lots of basic commands, he is neutered, housetrained and kennel trained. He does require a home with no children as he does have work to do on resource guarding behaviors.  He is friendly and playful with other dogs; but will resource guard without warning so may be best suited as an only dog in his forever home.  Ultimately, the best fit for Louie will be someone willing to devote time and patience to him, and they will be rewarded with the love and loyalty of an amazing pup! No apartments or multi-family home settings for Louie please, and preferably a person within 50 miles of Cedar Rapids, IA so as to continue to work with Cedar Run Pet Boarding & Daycare for training help as needed.  Louie's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations and preventatives plus the assistance of Cedar Run for basic obedience training classes and resources.  Last Hope does require that all animals be kept as indoor pets only, be altered and current on vaccinations and preventatives. This includes animals already owned by potential adopters. Our adoption process includes multiple opportunities for meet and greets, a vet history check and home visit as well as background and reference checks.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 3, 2024, 5:21 pm

Story
Say hello to Shotzy, the Midwest’s champion fetch player and all-around good girl! Shotzy is a 10-year-old, 81 pound German Shepherd. If you can throw it, Shotzy will fetch and return it, unless she’s feeling sassy and it becomes a game of keep-away. Shotzy LOVES people and wants to be by your side whatever you’re doing: working in the yard, taking a nap or concentrating at your computer. Bonus points if it includes a car ride. Shotzy knows basic commands and is eager to learn new ones. She is well-behaved and smart as a whip. Shotzy is left free to roam in her home when her foster mom is gone. Shotzy’s social skills are doubly amazing given that she spent the majority of her life chained to a tree in small-town Missouri. She does well with other dogs her size. Her standard healthcare had been neglected so she came to us with issues from head to tail. Over the last year under Fur Fun care, all her troubles have been addressed and she is now a beautiful example of her breed. She is house-trained, spayed, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. She takes a 16mg Apoquel tablet daily for allergies. Though she loves people, she is not a fan of cats. Shotzy requires a physically fenced yard to run and play safely. If you would like to meet Shotzy, please complete the adoption application on our website: www.furfunrescue.org. If you have questions about Shotzy, you can contact rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. Adopters must be within a two-hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA. Indoor homes only. Adoption fee is $250.

Story
Rio has been at his foster home for 14 months. He will be 3 in July and weighs 75 pounds. Rio has seen a lot of other dogs come and go and just wants to find a home of his own. We know he is having a hard time finding a home because he wants to be the only dog. Rio isn’t vicious and doesn’t want to harm another dog. He just wants all the attention and gets jealous. Rio adores people and has a lot of love to give. He just needs someone to believe in him like we do. Rio needs a physically fenced yard to run and play. Rio is starting to lose hope. We are trying to give him some emotional support and encouragement every day. We tell him he is a beautiful boy. We tell him he is loveable and cuddly. We tell him he deserves a home. We tell him someone will love him as much as we do. We tell him he is the best boy. We tell him he will get a home this year. Please consider Rio. He has so much to offer. Rio has good house manners, is housetrained, neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested, and microchipped. If you would like to meet Rio, please complete the adoption application on our website: www.furfunrescue.org. If you have questions about Rio, you can contact rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. Adopters must be within a two-hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA. Indoor homes only. Adoption fee is $250.

Morticia is such a sweet, amazing girl that just wants to be with the people she loves. She does have separation anxiety so doesn’t not do well alone so will need someone who is home more then not or will need a heavy duty kennel that she cannot break out of. This girl will cuddle and lay next to you all day, she wants to be wherever you are. She is mostly potty trained as long as she goes out often. She is leash trained. Loves other dogs, cats, and kids! If you have the patience to work through this girls separation anxiety then you will not regret making her part of your family.

Story
Klaus was born 12/25/22. Most recent vet visit 4/9/24. His ears haven’t stood up because of genetic line. Can neuter. He is listed to be rehomed unfortunately because he and his brother have whats known as litter aggression. I wish I didnt have to rehome him however I have a young child and cannot risk an accident. Klaus is good with other dogs (excluding his brother), has been socialized (consistent walks downtown on weekends meeting other dogs and people), house trained, and listens to commands very well. His training is actually better than the brother pup however my child has a closer connection to the other pup. He is great with babies up to adults and has spent his entire life being exposed to people and different situations. I never intended to have 2 dogs from the same litter for this reason and Im very sad to have to rehome him. I just want to find him a good loving home, so I will solely decide where to rehome him based on the family and wont charge a fee.

Story
Mister Oriole, the friend of EVERYONE. He is the goofiest shepherd, and always has us laughing. From his goofy facial expressions, to him throwing a paw at you when you giggle at him, to his dobby-like ears, NOTHING could be more lovable! Especially with how cuddly he is! He gets along GREAT with kids, cats, dogs, you name it! He approaches life with such well-natured, genuine sweetness that is hard to look past. He's as darling as docile shepherds come, very excited to show you all the tricks he knows for even the essence of a treat, some lovin's, or 'good boy.' Oriole has got his basics down, to the T! Making him the PERFECT pooch to integrate into just about any home! My adoption fee is only $210! This fee covers all of my vaccines, microchip, nex/heartguard, heartworm test, AND my spay/neuter! Think I might be the right fit for your home? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi there! My name is Tiger and I am almost three years old. I get along with other dogs and I am pretty well housebroken. I am good when left alone, but prefer to be near my person as much as possible. I will play with some squeaky toys, but I prefer attention and cuddling, one could call me a lap dog. Don't get me wrong though, for, as much as I love to cuddle I still do have a lot of energy that I need to get out of me so I have higher than average exercise needs ! I do enjoy being outside and do pretty well on leash though I am not a big fan of encountering strangers. I have been on some car rides and enjoy them. I might be excited at first, but if you ask me to stay in the backseat I will. Overall I would be a good addition to the right person or family, but I do need someone that can work with me on basic manners (I jump up when I get excited) and continue learning good behaviors so an experienced dog owner who is very familiar with my breed   is a must. I am not a fit with  children or cats. I will also definitely need a 6 foot fence as I am a bit of an escape artist! Tigers adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations and preventatives PLUS a free obedience course at Cedar Run in Hiawatha.  Last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor pets only, be current on preventatives and vaccinations and be altered.  Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet check and a home visit.  Please submit an adoption application for consideration at www.adopthope.org.
