Spade is a handsome 5-year-old German Shepherd with a striking lineage (black-and-tan GSD mom and a white GSD dad). Through no fault of his own, Spade is looking for a new forever home because his owner is being deployed overseas — a tough goodbye for everyone involved 💔. Spade is a total lovebug once he feels comfortable. He lives for snuggles, belly rubs, and a good game of fetch. His favorite things include squeaky Kong toys, chew bones, and quality time with his people. He can be a little anxious at first and may need some extra patience, but once he warms up, you’ll have a loyal, cuddly shadow by your side. He does well with other dogs when introduced slowly. He hasn’t had experience with young children or cats yet, so a home without them (or with older, dog-savvy kids) may be best. When the zoomies hit, Spade loves to run, so a fenced yard would be his dream setup. Spade is neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on all vaccinations — ready to start his next chapter with you. Meet Zeus! Located in the Des Moines Area **GSDRI is not involved with this dog at all, other than a courtesy listing. Please contact Lori** We are needing to rehome our male GSD. He is almost 4 yrs old; I rescued him from a farmer wanting him as an indoor dog only. He is obedience trained by the best, Holly Leas, All Breed Dog Obedience Training-Neal D Leas in Des Moines Iowa. He understands German and English commands. He has become a bit mouthy around children under 10, so I would recommend a home with older children. He has not been around cats, but he does have a high prey drive so I would not recommend him around cats or smaller pets. He loves the outdoors, snow and water, and most definitely walks. He sleeps in his kennel, although it is not locked, he still prefers it. He is a Velcro dog, and needs an alpha owner, as Zeus tries to be the alpha. Zeus is up to date on vaccinations, and he has been neutered I believe he would do good with another dog; he currently lives with a female dog. He has been around other dogs and kenneled with both male and female dogs. Please reach out if you would like to meet Zeus.
