Story
Meet Yona, your new playful companion! Yona is a 2-year-old (b. July 2022) German Shepherd and Blue Heeler mix who's ready to bring joy and energy into your life! This sweet girl is bursting with love and seeks lots of affection from her future family. She's a social butterfly, adores cuddles, and is great with children of all ages. Yona is already crate trained and knows some commands. Yona loves to play and run around, making her the perfect companion for active families.  She loves to be the center of attention and would do best as the only pet in the household. Yona enjoys spending time outdoors and would benefit from having a fenced yard and access to a doggy door for her bathroom breaks. It's possible she might try to explore on her own, so keep an eye on the front door when letting visitors in!   If you're looking for a playful and affectionate furry friend to join your family, Yona is the one for you! Are you ready to welcome Yona into your life? Reach out today to meet this wonderful pup and see if she's the perfect match for your family! The suggested adoption donation for Yona is $400 Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2021 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $307,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.  Thank you in advance for your compliance. ##2124637##

Story
Zoe is a rescue dog from Detroit. Zoe and I relocated back to Iowa 3 months ago. Unfortunately, due to me relocating back to Michigan I am unable to keep Zoe. Zoe is a sweetheart, and absolutely loves cuddles. She is well mannered around other dogs/cats, gets along well with children, and is trained on basic commands. Zoe does NOT like being kenneled, and is left out when not home.

Story
Meet Miss Olive! This sweet girl is a little doll! She can't get enough lovins, kisses, or playtime! She's also a fool for some good old fashioned belly rubs! At about 6 months old, she weighs in at around 25 pounds! We reckon she will hit that perfect in-between size where she can accompany you anywhere, everywhere, or nowhere and she will be happy! It goes without saying JUST how adorable this sweet girl is, and how photogenic! This girl loves her bones, and her toys; they keep her nice and settled in her crate! She's as sweet as they come, and quite the little love bug that will make a perfect addition to just about any home! ALL she really is looking for is a lap to cuddle in, and hugs to get, quite honestly. I don't think there's many laid-back puppies around like her! Olive's most ideal day would include hours of cuddles, then maybe a walk or some playtime, eating peanut butter out of a kong, and then taking a long nights sleep. She is literally the perfect puppy! I can be adopted with a spay/neuter agreement! The refundable fee of $100 is INCLUDED in my $410 adoption fee! This fee covers my spay/neuter surgery (at the Monticello Vet Clinic), my vaccines: Bordetella, DA2PP, Rabies! & my heartworm test + preventatives! The $100 deposit is returned once proof of sterilization is furnished! Think I might be the perfect fit for your home? You can apply for me here https://animalwelfarefriends.org/adopt/application/ OR you can apply in person when you come visit me any day during business hours! You can even adopt me that same day once approved!! Please Note: All adoptions are on a first-come first served basis with approved adoption applicants. We do not hold animals unless the adoption is out-of-state, and fees apply. The animal's welfare is our first and only priority, in doing so, they are moved from the shelter into their respective homes as quickly, & humanely as possible to remove the risk of undergoing extreme stress, compromising the immune system, & behavioral concerns. DISCLAIMER: Genetic Breed accuracy is NOT guaranteed; we assess by the following: Interview with or paperwork from with the previous owner Intake evaluation observations (behavior, physical appearance, and energy level) Source documents from which to analyze characteristics Consultation with other staff
