Story
This is Chester, 3-year old purebred German Shepherd male. He is neutered and up to date with all shots. Highly trainable with zero health related issues; his hips were x-rayed at a very young age and showed no sign of dysplasia. Chester is quirky and weird. He is often sensitive and shy but has no problems being out in public/social settings with a handler that he trusts and respects. He does not like everyone and he often feels triggered around new people and new settings. On the other side of his introvert character is an intelligent, athletic, and resolutely persistent dog. He enjoys just about everything from playing fetch to exploring hiking trails with the people he loves. Chester needs an experienced handler and/or handlers who can provide upward of 3 hours everyday to care for him and stimulate him mentally/physically. This is a dog for someone who is capable of providing and enforcing rules, routines, and structure consistently on a daily basis.

Story
If you’re looking for a companion Pearl is your girl! Pearl is a sweetheart. She’s smart, caring, and a beautiful dog with a social personality- She’s quick to become your little shadow.  At 2 years old, Pearl is very adaptable, eager to learn and please. She is an extremely affectionate girl who loves giving kisses and hugs. Pearl enjoys going on long walks and playing fetch so she will need to be housed in an active home, preferably with a yard, as one of her other favorite things is laying in the sun with her ball. When you’re ready to relax she is apt to cuddle up with you and will sleep for hours on end. Pearl perfectly house trained and will clearly let you know when it’s time.  Pearl does require a one dog home. If you are viewing this pet's profile on Petfinder or Adopt-a-Pet,.please use the application link at the bottom of the profile to apply. Clicking the "Ask About" button does not submit an application. It only submits a question which will delay an application submission.    All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative (age 7 months and older) and microchipped. We do not ship or transport. A dog's adoption donation is $200. There is a $5 fee for credit/debit cards. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please fill out an online application here: www.heartlandsmallanimalrescue.org/canine-application.html ##1768335##

Story
Chelsea is a little ball of energy. She is about 4 to 5 years old. She was my dad‘s best friend, but he recently passed away and where I am moving to. I unfortunately will not be able to take her. she’s used to a fenced in yard but if you don’t have one, that’s fine she’s also used to having a doggie door that she can go in and out of whenever throughout the day but if you don’t have that that’s fine she loves going on walk she’s very good on a leash. she does get distracted by smells so you might have to stop and smell the roses with her

SNAP of Michigan is a 501c3 that is completely volunteer based. There is no income for what is done. Grants, donations, and community support is how we are able to do what we do. Prior to finalizing any adoption,  Dogs are fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm tested. Cats are fixed, vaccinated, and Fiv/Felv tested. Dogs who are awaiting vet appointments can be fostered until the adoption can be finalized. This can be seen as a longer trial period in the home to make sure it would be an amazing fit! In our comic, Athena was a secret agent dog, using her intelligence and bravery to protect her city from mischief. One day, a villain unleashed a horde of robotic squirrels, triggering Athena's prey drive. With her quick thinking, she lured them into a fenced yard, saving the city but getting herself locked in. Athena's adventure doesn't end there. She's now ready to bring her playful energy, loyalty, and humor to a loving home with a secure yard and no small pets. Adopt Athena, and let the next chapter of her superhero life begin. Athena is Spayed, Up to Date on Vaccinations, Microchipped, and Heartworm Negative.
