Story
Nikita is a 6-year-old German shepherd with food allergies. She is currently on a prescription diet. She is very driven and active. Nikita would do best in a home without cats and a very active human. She loves to always pack around a toy in her mouth and will chase her tail for days. Nikita's Wishlist consists of Purina HA Salmon, Fortiflora Calm, Kong dog toys, and an orthopedic dog bed. Meet Nikita! Her favorite thing to do is chase her tail, but she is not as into cat friends. She needs more exercise than a bodybuilder. The most important thing to know about Nikita is that she must always carry something in her mouth.

Story
Meet Sasha! 🌟 At just 3 years old, Sasha has already overcome so much. She was picked up by Franklin County in April after being hit by a car on I-670, suffering pelvic and hip fractures. But this brave girl didn’t let that stop her! 💪🐾 She’s fully healed and runs, plays, and enjoys life to the fullest. Sasha’s a spayed German Shepherd with a big heart and a big personality. She’s smart, protective, sometimes silly — and absolutely devoted once she bonds with you. She loves a good game of tug, chasing Jolly balls, and keeping watch over her yard like a true Shepherd queen. 👑 Her foster mom says Sasha has come a long way with patience, structure, and training. She’s working with trainer and learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. She needs someone experienced who understands the strong, loyal spirit of a GSD. ✅ Crate trained ✅ Great in the yard with a secure fence ✅ Sweet, affectionate, and hilarious once she trusts you 🚫 Best in a home without small kids or small animals Sasha’s perfect match? Someone who loves the Shepherd energy — confident, consistent, and committed to her continued growth. 🐕‍🦺💛 Trainer Brian has even offered to help with her transition and continued training for her adopter! If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a loyal companion who’ll give you her all, Sasha is waiting. 🏡💖

Story
Meet Mars! Mars was surrendered to us by his owner. Unfortunately it seems like Mars has had a difficult time finding his furever family, but we are hopeful that Mars' furever family will find him next! He is a very happy, outgoing boy who has never met a stranger. He is sure to shower you in kisses within seconds of meeting you! Mars is still a young puppy, and is a very large boy, so he is looking for a family that can tolerate his puppy shenanigans while helping him learn better manners. Mars does well with other dogs. He does well with older children, but because of his size and excitable nature he may knock younger children over. While it is not a requirement for adoption, Mars' ideal home would have a secure 6ft fence. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in to do a meet and greet before taking Mars home. If you are interested in meeting Mars, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Story
Meet Costata! This adorable little lady is ready to find her fresh start with a furever family. Costata is spunky, playful, and simply adorable! She appears to be potty trained and knows some basic skills including "sit", "shake", and "drop it". She is very food motivated, and will do anything for a tennis ball! Costata is still a little nervous with strangers, especially men, so she is looking for a family that will give her time to warm up. She would do best in a home without men, but this is not a requirement. Once she is comfortable with you Costata is simply perfect, and will follow you everywhere! She has done well with other dogs and cats. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in to do a meet and greet before taking Costata home. Story
Meet Cod! Cod was surrendered by his owner because he was chasing cats in the home. He is a sweet, shy boy who would benefit from positive reinforcement based training to build his confidence. Cod previously lived with children and loves people, he is a cuddle-bug and loves to be with his humans. He is potty trained and knows some other basic skills like "sit" and "shake". He is nervous with new dogs, so he would do best with a respectful companion that will give him time to open up at home. He will chase cats, so he would do best in a home without them or will need some training and guidance on respecting cats in the home. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in to do a meet and greet before taking Cod home. Story
Meet Sunny! Poor Sunny has had quite the traumatic life so far. He came to us as an extremely emaciated stray, weighing a measly 14lbs. After finding himself in the middle of a court case for months, Sunny has grown up in the shelter instead of in a loving home. Thankfully puppies are pretty resilient, and Sunny is ready to put his past behind him. He is a happy, outgoing guy who has bounced back entirely and looks better than ever. Sunny is a typical Shepherd; he is energetic, bouncy, and always ready for an adventure! He loves to play with other dogs, though he can play rough and would appreciate doggy friends that will tolerate his wrestlemania lifestyle. After growing up in the shelter Sunny is going to need to learn things like potty training and household manners, but he is a very driven boy and we expect him to learn quickly. Sunny has never met a stranger and adores everyone, he is ready to be your new best friend! If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in to do a meet and greet before taking Sunny home. If you are interested in meeting Sunny, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit.
