I’m Whiskey and I’m 1! I’m a total suck once you get to know me. At first I’m a bit standoffish and shy, but that’s just fear. I had a rough first few months until someone came along and took me from the man that kept hurting and scaring me.  I am such a good boy! I am super smart and curious and learn things quickly.  I love my crate, sleep all night in it, and I love love my kong. I carry it around like a soother. I can  sit and lay down, I’m working on learning to stay but it’s just so hard!  Unfortunately, my owner’s older dog does NOT like having an annoying puppy with lots of energy around. He picks on me and now I’m scared of him. I don’t think I like big dogs. Little ones might be ok but I’m not very good with social cues.  I am in home with 4 cats so they’re ok. Sometimes I try to get them to play, but can quickly be redirected. I would do best in a home with a yard to run and burn off my energy. Because I am so fearful, I should probably not be in a home with children under 12.   https://www.animalert.ca/apply/dog-adoption   A re-homing fee of $150 will be paid to Animalert at the time of adoption.  If you think you will be able to give Whiskey the perfect home, please complete our online adoption application.   If you wish to learn more about Animalert, please visit our website at    https://www.animalert.ca/ Due to the volume of emails, phone calls and messages Animalert receives, it is not always possible to respond to every application. Story
Tilly / Female / 4 month / Northern Mix Breed / Dogs: Yes / Cats: Yes / Kids: Yes Meet Tilly, Cali and Freya’s sister. Tilly is a playful and lovable 10 week old Northern mix breed puppy from our rescue partners at Northern Reach Network. Tilly loves everything in life, especially her toys, food, and people. Her favorite toys include her teddy bear and balls, and she enjoys eating from interactive puzzle toys like Snuffle Mats, towels, and Kongs. Tilly adores her doggy foster brother and tries to initiate play constantly, and she's just as affectionate with humans, quickly winning hearts with her friendly and sweet nature! Tilly is a curious and rambunctious puppy who is highly food motivated, making training easy peasy. She's working hard on her crate and house training, doing well in her crate when left alone, and sleeping soundly after a short period of “awoos”. Tilly’s foster family says she has been a joy to foster, and we've loved watching her grow, explore, and gain confidence in herself. Tilly is up to date on age appropriate vaccines. She is currently being fostered in Bowmanville. Apply to Adopt! https://forms.gle/yymbcMtXHvyEvUF76

Story
Hello! My name is Chuck!I`m a sweetheart with long legs! I am pretty friendly but can be a little bit nervous at times - of new things or loud noises. I would love to have a dog buddy in the home to romp around with and go for hikes with. I`m currently in my teenage and chewing stages so I`m looking for a home that has the time and interest in training and has the patience to work with me through this fun stage in puppy life!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Yes, older and mature as I am very large and can be exuberant.OTHER DOGS: Yes, a friendly dog who likes to play.CATS: Yes, with a cat confident with dogs.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: Potentially, if you have large dog experience and a good plan for training.FENCED-IN YARD: Highly recommended given my size and energy.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: Any, with homes with yard preferred.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily, but would be ideal until I’m a bit older.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium-high. HOUSE-TRAINED: Not yet fully, will still require some training. If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the “Adopt Me” button to apply!

Story
Hello, my name is Whiskey!I am a sweet bundle of floof that can`t wait to meet my new family! I am still very little, and overwhelming situations - lots of visitors, boisterous dogs, new environments - can be a bit much for me. I am looking for a family that will take things slow and gradually introduce me, in a positive way, to the big world and show me it`s not so scary after all! I am very excited to move into my new home and keep the ball rolling with socialization. It is important that I join a family that has the time and patience to dedicate to socialization and training, and who can handle my energy and excitement. To become a well-rounded, socialized adult, it`s important I have frequent and positive interactions with new people, children, other dogs, visits to the vet clinic and other unfamiliar environments (like friends` homes and pet stores). It`s also important I continue to get practice with handling and grooming so I continue to be comfortable when I am older and go for vet visits, get nail trims and receive brushing and grooming.***If you apply to adopt me, please have a certified positive-reinforcement trainer in mind to sign up for puppy socialization classes, as this will be required prior to adoption.***If you are interested in adopting me, please click the `Adopt Me` button to complete an application.
