NOTE: To apply to adopt, please visit our website: www.BaytownHumaneSociety.org This absolute Jewel is as sweet as she is beautiful! She had been dumped in a neighborhood bordering a busy highway. The neighbors all posted about her, but no one took her in - for weeks! But, then, a BHS volunteer saw her plight and brought her to safety. What we know about PomPom is that she is a young German Shepherd (Malinois?) mix who had given birth in recent months. No pups were found with her, and we searched the area for days after PomPom was captured. She was very thin and wasn't feeling too good, either. Seemed just sad. 🙁 She has now gained back her weight and her spirit! PomPom is young, weighs approximately 55 pounds, and is happy and energetic. She has been wormed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed! Just needs a good home added to be absolutely PERFECT! PomPom got her name because of the way she waves that pom-pom of a tail she is blessed to have! What's left of the tail bone stops about about 3 inches short of the bushy little pom-pom fluff that you see at the end. PomPom is a natural cheerleader!! She definitely know how to wave that pom-pom!! 🙂 She was very skittish at first, and afraid of the other dogs in the foster home; but, with proper introduction, she decided to become friends with them. PomPom is good with people; but, oddly enough seems to prefer men. She loves the Foster Mom and gives plenty of kisses; but, she REALLY is happy to see the Foster Dad and will lie in his lap for hours! 😊 She is good other dogs; but, will give a squirrel a run for the money! Look at the photo, here, showing a squirrel looking down and giving her a good talkin'-to! She does have a pretty strong prey drive; so, we believe a home without cats will be best. She loves her toys and has not torn up any of them, (maybe thinks they are her babies, now?) nor has she chewed any furniture or shoes! She appears to have been house-trained, already, as she has never had a single 'accident' in the house. PomPom is quiet and accepts whatever situation you put her in without complaint. She does not dig or bark unnecessarily; and she rides beautifully in the car. Takes treats from your hand very gently. She is a very grateful and compliant girl who loves to show and receive affection! She is going to make some lucky family VERY happy for years to come! Apply for her at www.BaytownHumaneSociety.org , if you are interested in making PomPom the newest member of your family!!

Story
Welcome Chonk to CCPAL foster program. He is a German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix is our best guess. He is 3 to 4 years old and weighs about 60lbs. He was found near a home as a stray that is a common dumping ground for dogs. This good Samaritan has asked CCPAL to help find Chonk a forever home. He is good with other dogs and walks well on leash. He is potty trained. He loves to be next to you laying on the couch or floor next to you. He is also a fan of playing in the yard outside. He takes treats like a gentleman and has never shown any food aggression. He has learned sit and shake a pay since we have had him. He doesn’t mind his nails being cut and takes treats like a gentleman. He has never shown any food aggression. He is learning kennel training and has great recall. He is a well-rounded dog and would be great in just about any home. The family could be moderately active to very active and he would be a good fit. He is healthy, vaccinated and will be neutered soon and ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can also work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Welcome Shilo to CCPAL Rescue Foster program. Shilo is a 20-pound German Shepherd/Terrier mixed pup. Shilo was dumped in the country of Texas with her siblings on a good Samaritan dog person. She should be a 50lb dog full grown. She is smart, active and affectionate. She lives with 5 children of varying ages. She lives with 5 cats and 10 other dogs. She is good with all of these. This good Samaritan is working on leash manners and she is already good in a car. We would like someone that has owned a smart breed dog or a GSD before. A GSD will need a job and physical and mental stimulation to be happy. They are naturally good with children so we think Cricket would love another home with children. She would also be great with another companion animal. She is decent on the leash and soft when you pick her up. Puppies will always be better with someone that doesn’t work all day every day. Puppies need time with people and to go places with their human so they become well rounded adult dogs. She is getting her puppy vaccines and will be spayed soon and ready for her forever home. She can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. . Story
Welcome Mal to CCPAL Rescue. He is an 11-month-old German Shepherd dog. Mal is potty trained, good in a car, good with other dogs. He loves children and was really nice and gentle with the child that he made. He is outgoing and social. He doesn’t have too much of a slope on his back legs so less of an issue as he ages with his hips. He is very attentive, very smart and will be a fun boy to train. He is loyal and social with new people. We would love a previous GSD owner for Mal. GSDs need to have mental and physical stimulation to be happy. He would be a great family dog with children as the children become a job for them. He has the typical Shepherd coat and bushy tail. He weight about 48 pounds and is a little thin. His foster will be working on him to give him more food. He was found as a stray and after exhausting all efforts to find his owner, they feel he may have been dumped as a stray. He is healthy, vaccinated and will be neutered soon. He is active and would be best with an active family to join. He would be great in social settings and in a crowd as he is very confident and friendly. He will be fun to train as he is very smart and attentive. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas. We can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get Mal to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. Story
Welcome Ryker to CCPAL Rescue. He is a Husky/Shepherd mix. He weighs about 45 pounds and beautiful blue eyes. He knows sit, shake a paw and is good on a leash. He is smart and loyal companion. His loyalty will make him a little protective of his people. He is a wonderful dog and likes a number of different dogs here at the rescue. He was adopted and returned because he is protective when strangers came around. In our opinion, he is a perfect dog. In the right home, he will be perfect. A man who has had a shepherd would be best. Some person that is stronger and in control so the dog doesn’t have to be would be best. He would be great for a family that the husband travels out of town and he wants to leave a dog that will look after his family while he is away. He can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is great on a leash and will be a great dog for an outdoorsy person wanting a companion to tag along. Ryker has a beautiful bushy coat and would be perfect in the cooler climates in the North. He is vaccinated, neutered, healthy and ready for his forever home. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can also work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Story
Welcome Ruby to CCPAL Rescue Foster Program. Ruby is a 6-month old German Shepherd Dog. We are guessing she will be 60 pounds full grown. She is either a high mix or pure GSD. She was dumped at our Vet Office and our Vet is fostering her and vetting her. She is potty trained and good on a leash. She is crate trained and likes to ride in the car. She is healthy, vaccinated and on the schedule to be spayed. We would love a previous GSD owner. Young GSDs are energetic and will need mental and physical stimulation to be happy. GSD dogs are typically good with children. She has been around one child at the vet office and numerous people. She has done great with all the above. She is timid in new surroundings but the Vet is doing a great job with her. She bonds deeply and really loves her foster dad. She would be great with a young person or family that is active and looking for an active companion. She is good in a crate, good in a car and very smart. She has some slope on her back but not too much with means she will have less trouble with her hips in the future over the more sloped backs. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpal.info/ See her cute video!!
