Story
I rescued Brisket last summer. He is 2-3 years old. He's a pretty good boy, loves long walks and playing. Very social with dogs and people. He's getting better at sitting, and rarely barks. He is housetrained and crate trained, and knows basic commands. Really very gentle and loving. Looking to re-home because of a new job requiring lots of travel and no one else to care for him. Not fair to board him 2-3 weeks a month. Open to covering food costs for 90 days, and will provide crate/bed, toys and treats as well! Additionally 6 months of Flea/tick/HW medication.

Story
Hello, handsome! This big boy came to us as a stray and is approximately 2 years old. He has so much love to give, it’s ridiculous! Why he was abandoned is anyone’s guess, but we’re happy to help him find his forever home. Always ready with a smile (and a body hug if you’re not careful), Starsky is a lover of all humans he meets. He is also wonderful with large breed dogs but has not been tested with small breeds. He is not good with cats and cannot go into a home with indoor or outdoor felines. Given his mixed breed, Starsky both bonds quickly (the Shepherd in him) and is an escape artist (the Husky). Leaving him unattended in a yard is not advisable, as he will get bored and climb or dig his way out of it. This boy wants to be a part of the family, not left alone. With loads of attention and exercise, he won’t get bored. Starsky travels very well in the car - always ready for an adventure! He is good on leash but requires reminders against his tugging tendencies. He loves belly rubs and would be a lap dog if you let him. He is crate trained and is not an incessant barker. If interested in adopting Starsky, please request an application. Filling out an application does not guarantee an adoption but is the first step in the forever home placement. Starsky is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and on regular flea & heartworm prevention. An adoption fee applies to all of our rescues so that we can continue to help others in need.

The adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, microchip, rabies and other core vaccinations. Please complete an adoption application at https://www.asvtexas.org/adoption-application.html. NOTE: $100.00 of Tripp's adoption fee has been sponsored; his adoption fee is now $150.00. Meet Tripp (short for Tripod), a three-legged German Shepherd mix, about 5 years old and 55lbs. Tripp was hit by a car and his best outcome was to have his left front leg amputated. But don’t let his disability or age fool you, Tripp is a puppy at heart! He is silly and playful and runs around the farm helping out with chores. When the work is done you will find Tripp snoozing on the couch. Wherever you are, that’s where he wants to be. He has the cutest squeal when he's excited to see you! Tripp gets along with my young son as well as our two female dogs (with proper introductions). He has not been cat tested but does show some prey drive with my chickens, although he will listen when I tell him no. Tripp is leash-, potty- and crate-trained. He is a very good boy looking for a home to be so spoiled in.  ASVT does not have a facility; all of our adoptable pets live in volunteer foster homes until they are adopted. No one takes a salary so all donations and grants are used for the rescue animals. May 5, 2024, 1:01 pm
