Story
To apply to adopt, please email littlebigdogrescue.25@gmail.com for an Adoption Application. Officially introducing Sylvie for adoption! Sylvie was the mom to our previous “S” litter! She did an amazing job raising her babies and they have all been adopted and are in their perfect forever homes! Now it’s time for this sweet girl to find her perfect forever home she deserves! Sylvie was originally found as a stray while giving birth to her puppies outside, which is no place for her or her newborn babies! Thankfully she was found and taken to a local shelter in TN where she was kept until it was determined her previous owners were not coming for her. That’s when we stepped in! We took her and her 8 babies into one of our amazing foster homes where they were able to receive the love and care they all needed! Sylvie is a ~2 year old German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois/Dutch Shepherd mix. She has a ton of energy and drive and loves to be engaged in doing something 24/7. Her personality resembles most of a Belgian Malinois so PLEASE do your research before inquiring about adoption! We just want the best for her! Sylvie’s ideal home would be a very active home with someone who has experience with working line/high energy dogs. Sylvie is a very sociable girl but does take a few minutes to warm up to new people. Usually after a few treats and a couple of sniffs she’s your best friend! She loves to gently place her front paws on your stomach and give you hugs She also gets along very well with dogs! Although she can be a little much for some dogs so a meet and greet is required if you have a dog! Sylvie would be a fantastic dog sport prospect! Especially fast cat, agility and Scentwork! She loves to play with a flirt pole, play fetch, use her nose, and enjoys chewing on Benebones around the house! She is completely crate-trained, house-trained, and knows some basic commands! She’s a very smart girl! Sylvie is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated (distemper/parvo, bordetella, rabies), heartworm negative, dewormed, and current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Send us a message if you are interested in this sweet girl and please share to help us find her perfect forever home! Adoption fees are $250 unless otherwise stated.  Senior dog adoption fees are $200.  100% of adoption fees are put back into the rescue so that another lonely and neglected dog can be rescued. We are grateful for your interest. Upon approval, the adoption fee is non-refundable. The fee includes the following: de-worming; heartworm, lymes, ehrlichia and anaplasmosis testing; all vaccinations including rabies; flea and tick treatment, microchipping and spay/neuter. Please contact us if you have questions about our adoptable dogs, we would love to talk to you!  April 8, 2025, 6:09 am

Story
To apply to adopt, please email littlebigdogrescue.25@gmail.com for an Adoption Application. Honey is NOT with LBDR.  Please contact her owner directly at 276-237-0911 or 276-231-8455 or email  heyycarly@gmail.com .    Last ditch effort to find Miss Honey a fur-ever home! Miss Honey   is a 5-6 year old belgian malinois/shepherd mix that we found across from the Blue Ridge Country Club (Galax, VA) on 12/12/2024. She was vetted on 12/16 at Mountain View Veterinary in Woodlawn and had been to the vet regularly since then. She is not microchipped or spayed, although the Twin County Humane Society did say that they would assist with getting her spayed. We have tried finding her previous owners with no luck. We have reached out to shelters, humane societies, and multiple rescues to help us find her a home, also with no luck. We just welcomed our first (human) baby to our home at the end of March and it is just not feasible for us to have a third dog right now. She is house trained, crate trained, great with our other animals, and with our baby. She knows how to sit and loves playing fetch. She eats Wholesomes Adult Beef Meal and Rice from Tractor Supply, as she is allergic to oats, soybean, and sorghum. This food is the most affordable food that is free of all of her allergens. Please share our last attempt at finding Miss Honey a home. Please comment or message with any questions you may have! We have spent around $500-$600 on her out of our personal money, plus $400 that we raised for her to get allergy tested. With our new baby, we cannot afford to keep giving her the treatment and care that she needs. She currently is undergoing allergy shots that will last through January and has done much better since we figured out her food allergies and got her on an allergy-friendly food.  Adoption fees are $250 unless otherwise stated.  Senior dog adoption fees are $200.  100% of adoption fees are put back into the rescue so that another lonely and neglected dog can be rescued. Story
From our Kennel Staff: "Dozer is a sweet boy. He's protective of his food, rightfully so given his time spent in a shelter, but if you have him sit while pouring his food he'll politely wag his tail in anticipation. He loves tennis balls and playing fetch. After he eats dinner, he likes to slowly roll over while making eye contact— like he's asking for a tummy rub to complete his meal." Meet Dozer, the German Shepherd mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for belly rubs! This playful, affectionate guy is always ready for some fun, especially if it involves playing catch. Though he has a torn cruciate ligament, Dozer doesn’t let it slow him down—he still darts after the ball with boundless energy and enthusiasm. When it’s time to relax, there’s nothing he loves more than rolling over for a belly rub and soaking up all the attention. His joyful spirit and determination to keep going despite his injury are just a few of the reasons why he’s such a lovable companion. Loyal, playful, and full of heart, Dozer is the perfect friend to share both adventures and cuddle time with.

Story
GC was adopted from a shelter and I am heartbroken to have to let him go due to my asthma. He is so full of love and adoration, is well mannered, the biggest sweetheart. He loves to meet new people and new puppy friends. He loves to play and loves pumpkin treats and his tennis ball. He doesn't know that when you play tug of war he should be pulling, but he loves the game anyways. He is cuddly and almost never barks. He loves chest scratches. He is almost a year old, is about 35 pounds. A new home should be able to give him as much love as he has to give, good play time, and outside time.

Story
Mr Boo is coming up on his three year anniversary in rescue. He is so loving and sweet natured and has grown attached to carrying around a tennis ball in his mouth for comfort. He loves to cuddle with stuffed animals and his kitty cat friend. He's a perfect gentleman. Lap sitting and morning kisses are his favorite things He's not real high energy or needy but he loves playing fetch and going on walks. Very gentle and willing to listen and learn for a fellow that's been in a rescue environment for so long. His curious eyes and mellow vibe is enough to make anyone love him.He got seven furry pals in his foster home for which he gets along great with, he’s a hit with kids and good on a leash.
