Story
Jolene is the biggest cuddle bug you’ll ever meet. We are not able to fill her attention needs in the season of life we’re in so rather than let her starve for the attention I want this sweet girl to find a home with more time and love for her than we do.She’s got all the basic training aside from leash training. She is very eager to please so any additional training should be fairly easy. She seems happy in any environment as long as she’s getting plenty of love and I believe she has potential for a great adventure buddy and/or emotional support dog.One main issue we’ve struggled with is while she loves any attention she prefers adults so anytime she perceives an opening for adults she gets tunnel vision and barrels through what ever is in her way. Because of this I tend to worry about her knocking down little children and elderly. However as long as she’s not locked in on an adult she is actually very gentle with children.Someone please give this gem the love she deserves!

Story
🐾 Purebred German Shepherd Looking for a Loving Home 🐾 Due to my parents moving, we are looking for the perfect home for our beautiful purebred German Shepherd. She is an incredibly loving, loyal girl who absolutely adores people and is wonderful with children. She loves attention and enjoys being part of the family. She gets along well with male dogs but does not do well with female dogs, so she would be happiest as the only female dog in the home. She is house-trained and well-behaved, but she definitely prefers being outdoors. She is currently used to having 40 acres of farmland to run, play, and explore, so a home with plenty of space would be ideal. She is healthy, intelligent, and has the classic German Shepherd personality—protective, loyal, and devoted to her people. We want to find someone who will give her the love, attention, and room to thrive that she deserves. This is a very difficult decision, and we are committed to finding the best possible home for her.

Story
Poor Tucker, his owner ended up in a nursing home, not coming out. Tucker had no where to go so he has ended up in our shelter. He was a pretty sad boy at first, slowly he is warming up to us and ready for a new home. He would do well in a home without small children. He did live with another dog who has already been adopted. Tucker is approx. 60 lbs. He is pretty much housetrained and quiet. Visit him at the Rockbridge Spca or email manager@rockbridgespca.net. heartworm tested: Negative visit our fb page: dogs of rockbridge and rockbridge spca. NOTE: all animals adopted are taken straight to a local veterinarian for spay/neuter. We do adopt out of area providing adopter is will to make more than one trip. There are NO exceptions, and we do not hold animals. All Kittens and puppies must weigh 2 lbs. for surgery and there are a limited number of veterinarians in our area that will do a pediatric spay/neuter. please note the Rockbridge Spca does not have emotional support animals or service animals. we do not adopt to college students, however, they are welcome to volunteer. a fenced area may be required.

Story
Storm was picked up as a stray by animal control and taken to a high kill shelter in SC. He weighed in at only 43 pounds!! Poor thing had been on his own for a while and found himself on "death row". We pulled him from the shelter to save his life. He is with a foster (but they can't keep him much longer) and he is gaining weight and getting healthy! He now weighs over 60 pounds!! That's awesome for him. He has an appointment on the 29th to be neutered and can transport up to you the weekend after that if adopted! Storm deserves a home with a family that will love him. He would do best in a home without young children and hyper dogs as he tends to stress with "chaos". If you can provide a chill atmosphere for our boy please consider adopting him!!

Story
Jasmine and her siblings came from someone with a lot of dogs. They didn't get any socialization as little pups, so they are quite skittish. Jazz is the smallest of the 5. She is in a foster home with 6 other dogs and loves it! She is learning to play with other dogs and to accept love from her foster parents. She has come such a long way already. Her foster family is working to build up her confidence by exposing her to different situations. Jasmine is a sweet, shy girl who is learning to be part of a family.
