Story
At just five years old, this beautiful 54-pound Coonhound mix has already experienced unimaginable cruelty. When she was examined, veterinarians discovered BBs still lodged in her abdomen, heartbreaking evidence that someone had shot this gentle soul. Yet if you met Starfish today, you would never know it. She greets every day with a wagging tail, bright eyes, and pure joy. She races across the yard in happy zoomies, leans in for affection, and loves people with a trust that feels almost miraculous. Somehow, despite everything she has been through, Starfish still believes the world is full of good. When her time at the Maricopa County shelter ran out, Home Fur Good rescued her on her euthanasia deadline day. She finally had a chance to begin writing a new chapter. While at Maricopa County, Starfish spent time in a foster home, where she had an altercation with a small dog. The shelter staff believed there was a rushed introduction in a busy, overstimulating environment. Starfish has met several larger dogs and has been playful, social, and sweet with them. Because of her history, she would do best in a home without small dogs. What Starfish truly deserves is something she's never consistently had: safety, kindness, and a family who will never let her wonder if she's loved. We can't erase her past, but together we can give her the future she's been waiting for. If you're looking for a loyal companion with an incredible capacity to forgive, to love, and to fill your home with happiness, Starfish is waiting to meet you. Starfish's $250 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, microchip, and a complimentary wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. To schedule a meet-and-greet, call Home Fur Good at 602-971-1334. Walk-ins are also welcome Thursday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Story
Sweetie has spent her entire life proving what unconditional love looks like. Adopted as a puppy from Maricopa County, she expected to spend her golden years with the family she knew. Instead, through no fault of her own, this gentle soul found herself looking for a new beginning at ten years old. Thankfully, Sweetie hasn't let life's unexpected changes dim her spirit. This 46-pound, white Pointer mix is every bit as sweet as her name suggests. She still has plenty of pep in her step, loves chasing tennis balls, and happily soaks up every bit of affection she can get. She recently had a dental, so her bright smile now comes with a fresh set of pearly whites to match her sunny personality! Sweetie is in wonderful shape for her age and doesn't act like a typical senior. She would love a family that appreciates the calm confidence of an older dog while still enjoying her playful side. She would do well with gentle children and friendly dogs and is ready to become a cherished member of a loving home. Sweetie's adoption fee of $150 includes her spay, vaccinations, microchip, and a complimentary wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. If you have room in your heart for a loyal companion who deserves a happy new chapter, please call 602-971-1334 to schedule an appointment to meet Sweetie. You can also visit us Thursday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during our walk-in hours. Sweetie is ready to show you that some of life's greatest treasures come with a little gray on their muzzle.

Story
MEET  VON!! Von is a very affectionate and loving boy who thrives on attention and cuddles. He truly lights up when you come home, showing his excitement with joyful energy and tail wags. Von loves being close to his people and will happily curl up next to you for hours of snuggles. He just has a super sweet nature! Von is quite clever and curious, so he needs an owner who understands his playful, occasionally stubborn personality, and a good strong pack leader will be beneficial. He is an impressive jumper, so he will need a home with a taller block wall. He has had good intros/ meeting with other dogs and should do fine with another play buddy, but would also loved to be the only dog where he can get all the love and attention he craves without competition.  He enjoys walks and is a great walking companion. He would be an excellent hiking co-hort!  Given his breed has a strong prey drive, so no cats or small animals, though. Overall, Von is a loving, loyal dog who just needs the right family that can give him structure, attention, and a safe environment to thrive.  Leash trained, Crate trained, Lap pet, Tries to escape, Predatory, Independent/aloof, Affectionate, Gentle, Goofy, Likes Water If you are interested in meeting this dog, please visit our website for our online application www.underdogaz.com   March 8, 2026, 8:45 pm

Story
Willow is a beautiful, energetic German Shorthaired Pointer who thrives when she has plenty of space to run and explore. She is intelligent, confident, and gets along well with male dogs. Because she prefers to be in charge, she does best in a home without female dogs her size or larger.Willow is very loving with people and enjoys attention, structure, and having room to roam. She has spent most of her life outdoors but has also lived inside and can adjust with guidance. She does need secure fencing and enough space to move freely, as she may try to jump a fence if confined to a small area.I would not be rehoming her if my situation allowed me to keep her. She has been a loyal companion, and this is a difficult decision. Willow will thrive with someone familiar with her breed and able to give her the space, activity, and consistency she needs. She has a lot of love to give and will be a devoted partner in the right home.
