Story
Hi, my name is CARSON (aka Charlie) and here is a little info about me: Age: 5 yearsGender: maleWeight: 60lbs / 27kgHeight: 64cm / 25inHighlights: playful with other dogs, cuddly, good with all people, handsome  Based on my breed traits, my gentle nature around humans, and my affectionate behavior, my rescuers believe I may have once been a working dog—possibly used for hunting. I was found wandering the streets with injured legs, likely discarded when I could no longer do the job I was meant for. When an animal lover gave me attention, I didn’t want to let her go and tried to get into her car. When she let me, I was so happy that I put my head on her lap the whole ride home to thank her. I’m a happy, playful boy who loves meeting new people and heading out on adventures. I bond quickly and deeply, and I’m great with humans of all ages—including kids. I get along well with other dogs and love to play, but I like to be the alpha when it comes to food—so I’d prefer not to share my meals with my four-legged pals. And cats? Not really my thing. My ideal home you ask?  I would be happy with an active family who takes me out on lots of adventures, or in a quieter home with children. I am not very fussy!  As long as I have people to give me cuddles, I will be happy! Energy level: moderate I get along with:dogs: yescats: nokids: yes, await video Prey drive: medium. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. Fears: unknown/none observed. Please be patient with me through my transition. Training: Some leash training.  Leash skills still need some work. Generally happily walks alongside human handlers, can become stressed and may refuse to walk when he feels pressure from collar/harness. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: No. Please be prepared to help! Health notes: I have a limp in my right hind leg. My rescuers don’t know what caused it, but according to the vet, there is an old break that healed incorrectly on it's own. No intervention or treatment is necessary or recommended now. I will be able to have a normal life despite my limp. Sometimes I prefer not to use my leg, but when I run and play I do use it. My rescuer can provide X-Rays.I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most problematic behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1482083##

Story
Hi, I’m Lili and I’d love to tell you a bit about myself! I am looking for my forever adopter. Could that perhaps be you? I've been in British Columbia for about 6 months, living close to nature and with a big yard to run around in. I love my humans, playing with other dogs, cuddles, car rides, and I am a great dog around young children. I am still working on some separation anxiety but I'm a smart dog so I'm sure that, with support, I can gain in confidence. Breed: German Shorthaired PointerAge: 2 y/oGender: FemaleWeight: 60lbs / 23kgHeight: (ground to shoulder) TBDCountry of origin: LebanonHighlight(s): Friendly, affectionate, obedient, playful One look into my deep, soulful eyes, and I’ll have you hooked on my love. At a very young age I was abandoned on the streets of Lebanon. Scared and confused, my sharp wits kicked in which saved me from being struck by chaotic traffic and attacks from unfriendly street dogs. As a young pup unprepared for survival as a stray, I needed help, and found it in a compassionate stranger. My rescuer clearly saw that I was struggling, and brought me to safety. What a relief it was to once again feel loved! Alas, my stay with her was short-lived as she had two of her own beloved dogs. She found a foster home for me, and I have been in their care for the past year.  It’s alright here (I’m off the streets!), but my ultimate goal is to settle into a longterm home where I can feel secure with the right humans!  I still have a lot of learning and growing to do-- I want to be challenged and lead an active life!  I have a lot of love to give, so you'll be rewarded too! Temperament: Confident, intelligent, loving Best Home: Active lifestyle, consistent training and stimulation Energy Level: Moderate/High I get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknownKids: yes Fears: some separation anxiety but I am looking forward to overcoming it Training: some.  Please be prepared to train me, I'm an eager learnerLeash skills: Yes, but I can always progress furtherHouse trained: Yes.  New environments may be confusing, please be prepared to assist me in settling in $800 adoption fee plus applicable taxes Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Story
Hello! My name is PERLITA and here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: German Brocco Shorthaired Pointer mix Age: 1 year approx. Gender: Female Weight: 20 lbs (9 kgs)  Current Location: Guadalajara, Mexico RESCUE STORY - I was found roaming the highway of Paracho (a little town in Michoacan, Mexico) where it is very dangerous for a small pup like me to be running so close to so many fast cars. Thankfully, I was rescued and taken to a safer place to be cared for while I wait to be brought to my new forever home! You can see a video of me here when I was rescued, I was so happy someone was showing us love and attention! TEMPERAMENT - I am said to be very sweet! I love to cuddle a lot, especially hugs and I tend to fall asleep if I'm cuddled and pet, just like a baby! Since I am still a puppy, I love to play and I can get a little ahead of myself with other dogs and be rough but I am still growing and learning! I am very playful but sometimes I prefer to stay inside and even play on my own. Sometimes if I don't know a dog I will bark until I get to know them better and once I do, I am very friendly! I love toys and I especially love stuffed animals. ENERGY LEVEL - Moderate - I am a playful, young puppy who needs a good amount of physical and mental stimulation in the day and once I get enough, I am ready to sleep and cuddle lots! GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown (No video footage provided, but can be requested!) Dogs –  Yup! I get along well with the other dogs at the shelter and love to play! Here is a video of me playing wiith some friends. Cats – Unknown PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. I do tend to bark when other dogs steal my toys but barking is said to be low. TRAINING: Leash skills – Work in progress. I'm looking for an adopter who will show me the ropes and teach me how to be a superstar on leash. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help me be successful! Here are some videos of me doing well on leash! House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :) Car rides – My rescuer says I am calm and curious but I have tried to jump out the window before! I may need some additional training and patience. You can see a short clip of me here in the car! Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I am spayed and vaccinated. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD (including 5% GST & 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and its adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.  ##2354987##
