Story
I took this dog in for a friend who removed her from a situation where she lived outside with 20 other dogs. I got her in july of 2025. She has shown some unpredictable behavior with my son and her time is up with us. She is crate and house trained. She is good with dogs but she likes to play rough and climb all over them. I do not want any money but she should go to an owner experienced with working dog breeds or gsp specifically. She is good with my cat but does like to poke at him. She is a very sweet dog. She was scared of everything and had never been inside or on a leash or anything so she has come a long way, she just needs more work with someone who can handle/work with her and without small children. She is not spayed. She was born 11/2024. She is heartworm negative and on milbeguard prevention now. I just treated her for hookworms with meds from the vet. No microchip. She would come with her leash, collar, harness, muzzle, bowls, and her crate. vaccines up to date

Story
Kris came to FLUFF in early December from the Florida/Georgia line after spending her life as a stray. She and several other dogs were cared for by a kind Good Samaritan who made sure they had food, water, and what shelter he could provide. When he sadly passed away, a group of compassionate people stepped in to ensure these pups were safe and ultimately placed with rescues where they could have a chance at forever homes. Until coming to FLUFF, Kris had likely never been handled, and the comforts of a domesticated life are still new and sometimes scary for her. With time and patience in her foster home, she has begun to blossom. She absolutely adores her furry siblings, has discovered that soft couches and cozy beds are actually pretty wonderful, and is learning that sitting quietly near her humans can be a nice thing, too. Kris is still unsure about leashes and too much petting or affection, and that’s okay—she’s learning at her own pace. She will need a calm, patient home with another confident, friendly dog to help guide her and show her the ropes. Her ideal human understands that trust takes time and is happy to let Kris simply be part of the family from a distance at first, with no pressure or expectations. Kris may never be a fully “typical” dog—and that’s perfectly okay. What she offers is something just as special: a gentle soul who deserves safety, kindness, and the chance to live life on her own terms, surrounded by love. https://www.fluffanimalrescue.org/adoption-application My adoption fee includes my sterilization, microchip and registration, all core vaccines to date, dewormer and 1st month's Flea and Heartworm Preventatives. Story
Hi, my name is Kringle, and I came from a rough start, living outdoors on a property without ever knowing human touch. Everything changed for me in November when I arrived at FLUFF Animal Rescue. I was very scared and unsure, and while I allowed care for my basic needs. With time, patience, and kindness, I’ve started to come out of my shell. I now take treats from people, enjoy having calm, gentle company, and am beginning to accept slow, soft pets from those I trust. I also really enjoy spending time outside and playing. I’m still learning the basics—like leash walking and what it means to just be a dog—but I’m making steady progress. My ideal home is with someone who understands that I’m a work in progress. I’m not a cuddly dog right away, but I have so much potential. I need a patient, committed person who will give me the time, space, and guidance to continue building trust. A home that will support my journey with crate training, leash training, and confidence-building will help me continue to grow. I may take time, but I promise I’m worth it. Every step forward I take is something truly special, and I’m looking for someone who will celebrate those moments with me as I learn what it means to feel safe and loved. https://www.fluffanimalrescue.org/adoption-application My adoption fee includes my sterilization, microchip and registration, all core vaccines to date, dewormer and 1st month's Flea and Heartworm Preventatives. Story
Shadow is a sweet, resilient five year old boy who has endured more than any dog should. He was rescued from the streets of Puerto Rico and brought to Tampa Bay, where he finally experienced the comfort of a loving home. But after a crosscountry move triggered severe anxiety, he was surrendered, leaving his heart broken once again. For a moment, things seemed to turn around. Shadow was adopted by another family and began to settle in. But when his vision started to fade, his family chose not to seek answers and returned him to us. He came back overweight, with swollen ankles, and carrying the weight of yet another loss. We soon learned that Shadow has a thyroid condition. With medication, a healthy diet, and proper care, he is already improving and showing glimpses of the happy, playful pup he truly is. His vision changes may even be connected to this condition, and he is undergoing further evaluation to give him the best chance possible. Through every setback, Shadow has remained the same at his core: a loving, affectionate dog who simply wants to be close to his people. He deserves a calm, patient home where he can continue healing and finally be cherished for the incredible companion he is. Shadow has been let down too many times, but we believe his forever family is out there. Please help us find them. Share his story. Open your heart. This brave boy deserves the soft landing he has always needed.         ##2177020##

Story
Calling all our pointer lovers! How about a pocket pointer?! Our sweet German Shorthaired Pointer momma Hattie found herself at a very rural county shelter where, after nearly two months, she was given a euthanasia deadline. We are so thankful we were told about her, and we jumped at the opportunity to save her life! Hattie is estimated to be between 2-4 years old and was definitely a mother at some point in her life. She is the ultimate pocket pointer - a shorty weighing just under 40lbs. She is underweight and although she has gained some since she’s been with us, she still could use another 5lbs or so. Hattie is house trained and crate trained, but we don’t think she’d ever been on a leash before she joined the FSDA family. Thankfully she’s small, but she definitely needs an adopter willing to work with her on leash manners. She is great with other dogs, but cats and other small animals are a hard no for her. She has a very typical GSP prey drive and loves to hunt the rabbits in her foster family’s backyard, and when she is in hunt mode she has a tendency to turn her ears off. Hattie loves people and is a true Velcro GSP, so any potential adopters need to be prepared to have a shadow everywhere they go. Hattie is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and ready to go home. She is fostered in Charlotte County, Florida and her adoption fee is $400. If you think Hattie is the right Velcro addition to your family, please send us an adoption application at the link below or email us at info@flsportingdogalliance.org for more info! https://www.flsportingdogalliance.org/dog-adoption

Story
I picked Lysander up from the Humane Society of Sarasota in efforts to get a pet/companion for my energetic toddler who LOVES animals and just turned two, but I fear my toddler may be a bit much for him unfortunately. He’s very shy but he’s also just a young pup as well (he’s one and a half) so he may have never lived with children before so I just want to give him a better life than what he’s experiencing now. I can tell he’s uncomfortable because he barely comes out of his crate (only when my toddler isn’t around) and that’s not fair to him, he needs to be as comfortable as possible. I just don’t want to put him or my child in harms way because of the uncomfortable situation.
