Story
There must have been a time when se was loved. You can see it in the way she sits so politely. The way she watches your face for direction. The way she understands "sit" and gentle correction. The way she knows a treat and how to earn it. And the way she adores cuddling! We're pretty sure she didn't end up being abandoned because she wasn't good enough. We wish we knew the story, but all we know is she was homeless and all the searching did not turn up her family! But here's what matters now- she is incredibly smart, she is house trained. She bonds quickly with her people. She has clearly lived in a home before. And she is waiting for that feeling again! If you have room in your home- and your heart- she is ready to give you everything she has! Penny is people focused, has a good energy level that a family offering mental stimulation and fun can easily offer her. Go hiking, go jogging....take her with you camping! She displays super loyal bonding with her person traits. Penny is stunning- athletic and lean. She has a very confident personality and would do best with a dog that is not dominant. We don't know if she's lived with other dogs, but she has successfully been with them where she was initially found. Located in New Jersey- come meet Penny and see if she's the dog for you!!

Story
We adopted Rico when he was 1 year old from a shelter. He came from Tennessee. He is now just about 4 years old and is so full of love! He is a very high energy dog and requires lots of exercise. We have two children (4 years and 1 year), and he is very gentle and loving towards them. However, working full time and raising two kids has made it very difficult to give Rico the love and attention he he deserves. He is an incredibly loyal dog. He will always be by your side and always ready for a walk for a game of fetch. He also is very gentle with our flock of chickens, although he does love to play chase with them. He loves to play with other dogs, especially dog that are high energy like him. He is not the best with cats as his instinct is to chase them. We would love to see Rico join a family who is very active and spends lots of time outdoors with him. He loves to run and play chase, and loves to snuggle and give kisses. He will follow you wherever you go.

Story
We are looking to rehome Remington to an experienced, adult-only home.Remington is a smart, loyal dog who bonds closely with his primary person. He does best in a calm, structured environment with clear boundaries. He has significant behavioral challenges that we have not been able to fully address, including:Reactivity and aggression toward unfamiliar people entering the homeResource guarding and defensive behavior when correctedIncreased reactivity toward women and children in the householdDue to these behaviors, he is not a good fit for a home with children and would do best in a quiet home with an experienced handler who understands behaviorally complex dogs.He has not received professional training due to financial limitations, but we believe he has the potential to improve with consistent, experienced guidance. This has been a difficult decision, but our priority is the safety of our family and finding the right environment where Remington can succeed.

Story
Meet Sunday (ACCT-A-258041), a charming gentleman who is ready to make every day feel like a relaxing weekend! Sunday has been a star pupil since arriving at the shelter, often seen sitting quietly at the front of his kennel with soft, hopeful eyes, waiting for a friend to stop by. Sunday is a big fan of his daily walks and handles the leash well, though his nose occasionally leads the way to the best sniffing spots! He is a polite treat-taker and a social fellow who enjoys gentle handling. If you’re looking for a sweet, treat-loving companion who will appreciate every bit of love and every peanut butter snack you can offer, Sunday is waiting to meet you! 📽️Videos📽️: Playgroup 8/12: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBKAGlc9KOfk Tilly and Sunday meet: https://youtube.com/shorts/I51hozjvjFQ?si=zzAIEI_BfX2hiJmy Misty and Sunday: https://youtu.be/jo-djdMyquc?is=UvduKqmfuUYzoYkv ⭐Behavioral Notes⭐ 08/12/2026 Playgroup Steer Test - Water 4/5, Can 4/5 With fence greeting, he ran up to the fence, hackles raised, high tail, muzzle punched. Jameson then muzzle punched and hard barked as well. High tail when sniffing/greeting. A bit pushy. Fence greeting with Hercules, hackles raised, ears forward, high tail. Moved around in yard with engaging in play. 08/11/2026 Misty and Sunday: Good greetings. Pulls towards other dog when she moved away. Able to disengage. 08/09/2026 per staff: Kennel Presentation: At the front of his kennel, soft eyes, ears back, loose body, mid level loose wags. Took a treat gently through the bars. Leash Skills: Tossed treats to move him back, when he came back to the front was easily leashed and came right out. Walked pulling mildly on leash. Would occasionally pull strongly towards areas to sniff. Sociability: Would not come over when called, came over for treats and took them gently. Allowed all handling with ears to the side, mid to high tail, loose body, slightly open mouth. Would remine next to me for a second after I stopped then moved away to sniff. Play: n/a Dog Interaction: Saw dogs through the fence, sniffed at them with a high tail, ears to the side and moved away. Return to Kennel: Clipped leash on return due to notes of needing two handlers to return on walk sheet. Walked pulling mildly, eyes darting, high tail. Slowed down and started to lower his body as we got closer, picked up the pace into a light jog and he kept moving and hopped right in. Color Level: Blue Recommendations and considerations: If he continues to go into kennel on his own can be leveled down 08/08/2026 per staff: sitting quietly at the front of the kennel, soft eyes, ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. Story
MEET LEO!! Leo is an approximately 4-5 year old male neutered Lab Golden and German Pointer mix. What a stunning combination! Leo is tall, dark and handsome and currently weighs around 75 lbs. Leo is a dapper and simple kind of guy. He has a calm and gentle presence. He is past the younger dog chaos and settling into a nice stride. He waits patiently in the morning to take on life. From leisurely walks through property trails, a soulful display of comfort when petting him, to laying down on his cozy cot. His soul penetrating eye gaze as you rub his under chin that says, “Thank you for letting me be a part of your life.” Leo will sit there stoically as you give him a big hug and it tells you everything you need to know about him. He has been professionally trained to increase his likelihood of being adopted. He appreciates a system of communication as he navigates the world that once misunderstood him. He just needed the right team in his corner. Prior to training he would get over excited around dogs or squirrels for example. Now he is capable of calm leash walking and experiencing the world. He has proven he really is a simple kind of dog that deserves a simple kind of life. Leo is both house and crate trained. Leo does great with female dogs around his size but his prey drive seems to strong for small dogs and cats. Leo is a very intelligent and stunning guy who is looking for his forever family to take him on the adventure of life and be has loyal as he is ❤️❤️❤️ If interested please contract Christine at christine@therescueexpress.org

Story
Marley is the sweetest girl! She is loving, gentle and patient. She is great with our 3 cats, other dog and 5 kids. She wants to be with her humans whenever she possibly can. And also loves her crate. She would do best either being walked or in a home with a higher fence. As she can hop like a bunny! She is not food aggressive as she free feeds with our other pup. Our only reason for looking to rehome her is that we believe she deserves to be in a home where she gets a little more attention. Our 3 year old is disabled and that has left little time for other things. We have had Marley since she was 4 Months old and rescued her. She will be 3 in a couple weeks. The sole reason we are rehoming Marley is due to having a 3 year old disabled daughter who requires all of our attention right now.
