Meet Dolly! Who needs a Squishmallow when you have Dolly? At just 10 weeks old and 22 pounds of pure squishiness, Dolly is already an expert in the art of being adorable. This gorgeous German Shorthaired Pointer mix is going to be a very large girl when she grows up, so her future family should be prepared for plenty of dog hair, slobbery kisses, and a whole lot of lovable dog.Dolly arrived at our shelter through a special partnership with our friends at Geauga Moms and Pups, along with her sister, Honey Bear. These sweet girls were welcomed into our care so they could find the loving families they deserve. Dolly has a beautiful full-white coat covered in black spots, plus an adorable black diamond on her head that makes her extra special. Dolly has already been showing us what a wonderful puppy she can be. She was fostered with four large-breed resident dogs and two cats and did wonderfully with everyone. She slept nicely in her own gated area of the house and was already making great strides with housetraining. Talk about a smart cookie.Dolly can be a little shy when she first meets new people, but once she feels comfortable, her loving personality shines through. We think she would absolutely love having another dog in her forever home. Having a confident canine companion could help Dolly come out of her shell and really blossom into the amazing dog we know she can be.Of course, Dolly is still a puppy, which means she is very much a work in progress! Her forever family will need to be ready to help her learn all those important puppy skills, including basic obedience, leash manners, housetraining, and proper socialization. With patience, consistency, love, and plenty of tasty treats, we know Dolly is going to grow into an incredible companion.Dolly is available through our Foster-to-Adopt Program, which means you can welcome this sweet girl into your home while she completes her veterinary care, vaccines, and microchipping. Dolly was spayed on September 1, 2026. To meet Dolly, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and complete an adoption application online. Dolly’s adoption fee is $200.Please remember that bringing home a puppy is a lifetime commitment. Puppies require time, patience, training, supervision, and plenty of work—but in return, they give you a lifetime of unconditional love, loyalty, laughter, and memories. If you`re ready to put in the time and effort to help Dolly grow into h

Story
Poppy is back with Love-A-Stray due to the owners new work schedule and no extra time for a young active pup! Meet Poppy!! Poppy is 10 months old (DOB 11/2/25), GSP mix. Her mom was a GSP and DNA test came back with 50% GSP, 25% English Springer Spaniel and 23% Siberian Husky! So her dad was a FUN mix! She weighs 42 lbs. Poppy LOVES everyone. There hasn't been a human or a dog she has met that she doesn't like. She is very happy, very loving and SMART! Poppy is crate trained and housebroken. She knows all her commands including "place". She is a great playful Pup!! Typical of her breed mix she will need a fenced in yard, not electric, and an active home that can offer her exercise and stimulation. A dog friend similar in energy level would be great so she could run and play to help get energy expended. The fenced in yard is a requirement for Poppy based on her love for the outdoors and need to RUN! A dog friend would be a HUGE bonus for Poppy, but not a requirement. If you are interested in Poppy, and you have a fenced in yard, please submit an online application, so we can learn a little about you to make sure Poppy would be a good match for you and your family. We do not do out of state adoptions, due to our trial adoption process. Adoption fee/donation is $200.00 If you have specific questions, please email the adoption coordinator at info@loveastraydog.com If you can't foster or adopt, please consider donating to help us with medical expenses and ongoing care. You can mail your donation to: Love-A-Stray, P.O. Box 125, Attn: Poppy, Avon Lake, OH 44012 or visit www.loveastraydog.com for credit card/PayPal information, adoption application, available dogs and upcoming events. Thank you!

Story
Earl has his forever home! Earl is a very handsome 4 yr old GSP weighing 70 lbs. We just got his DNA test back on 8/15/26 and he is 95% German Shorthaird Pointer, 4% American Field Pointer and 1% German Wirehaired Pointer, so he is 100% Pointer LOL! Earl is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows his basic commands. He is very laid back and super loving! Earl was a "Dad" to a litter of GSP puppies, and we took him in to help GSP rescue since it appears he is a mix with some Labrador Retriever (DNA test pending). GSP rescue was overwhelmed with intake, so we were happy to help with this GREAT dog! Earl is good with other dogs and participates in Doggie Day Care at Paws by the Lake. He loves all people and kids he meets. Earl is neutered, vaccinated, HW negative, microchipped, but he did test positive for Lyme Disease from a tick, but was treated at the Avon Lake Animal Clinic. If you are interested in Earl, please submit an online application, so we can learn a little about you to make sure Earl would be a good match for you and your family. We are looking for a fenced in yard for Earl, so he can enjoy the freedom!! We do not do out of state adoptions, due to our trial adoption process. Adoption fee/donation is $300.00. If you have specific questions, please email the adoption coordinator at info@loveastraydog.com If you can't foster or adopt, please consider donating to help us with medical expenses and ongoing care.
