Story
We are looking to rehome Remington to an experienced, adult-only home.Remington is a smart, loyal dog who bonds closely with his primary person. He does best in a calm, structured environment with clear boundaries. He has significant behavioral challenges that we have not been able to fully address, including:Reactivity and aggression toward unfamiliar people entering the homeResource guarding and defensive behavior when correctedIncreased reactivity toward women and children in the householdDue to these behaviors, he is not a good fit for a home with children and would do best in a quiet home with an experienced handler who understands behaviorally complex dogs.He has not received professional training due to financial limitations, but we believe he has the potential to improve with consistent, experienced guidance. This has been a difficult decision, but our priority is the safety of our family and finding the right environment where Remington can succeed.

Story
We adopted Rico when he was 1 year old from a shelter. He came from Tennessee. He is now just about 4 years old and is so full of love! He is a very high energy dog and requires lots of exercise. We have two children (4 years and 1 year), and he is very gentle and loving towards them. However, working full time and raising two kids has made it very difficult to give Rico the love and attention he he deserves. He is an incredibly loyal dog. He will always be by your side and always ready for a walk for a game of fetch. He also is very gentle with our flock of chickens, although he does love to play chase with them. He loves to play with other dogs, especially dog that are high energy like him. He is not the best with cats as his instinct is to chase them. We would love to see Rico join a family who is very active and spends lots of time outdoors with him. He loves to run and play chase, and loves to snuggle and give kisses. He will follow you wherever you go.

Story
Hollow is a 2-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer/Chocolate Lab mix with a heart full of love. She is crate and house trained, affectionate, loyal, and happiest when she’s with her people. Whether she’s following you around the house, lying at your feet while you work, or cuddling on the couch, she simply wants to be part of the family.Hollow has an issue affecting her back legs that becomes noticeable after strenuous activity or overexertion. We have managed her symptoms by limiting high-impact activity, and she does well with normal day-to-day life. As an active family, we’ve come to realize that our lifestyle is no longer the best fit for her needs. We’re looking for a home where she can enjoy a slower pace, receive the attention she deserves, and continue to thrive as someone’s loyal companion.

Story
KENNEL ID #18804Meet Pistol, a Golden Retriever and German Shorthair Pointer mix. He will turn 4 years old on April 9th. Pistol is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. He weighs about 80 pounds and believes he’s a lap dog!  Pistol is housebroken and crate-trained. He gets along well with cats and most other dogs, making him a great companion. As a vigilant watchdog, he has lots of energy and loves to play and run around. His favorite toy is a squeaky chicken, and he enjoys playing fetch. When he’s not active, he loves to relax and receive belly rubs. Although Pistol was raised around children, he has recently become uncomfortable in their presence, and his warning growls can be intimidating for kids. Therefore, his owners are looking for a home without children. Transfer Fee $200Thank you for your interest in rescue. Story
Meet Sunday (ACCT-A-258041), a charming gentleman who is ready to make every day feel like a relaxing weekend! Sunday has been a star pupil since arriving at the shelter, often seen sitting quietly at the front of his kennel with soft, hopeful eyes, waiting for a friend to stop by. Sunday is a big fan of his daily walks and handles the leash well, though his nose occasionally leads the way to the best sniffing spots! He is a polite treat-taker and a social fellow who enjoys gentle handling. If you’re looking for a sweet, treat-loving companion who will appreciate every bit of love and every peanut butter snack you can offer, Sunday is waiting to meet you! 📽️Videos📽️: Sunday knows sit : https://youtube.com/shorts/FJLLf2aNgko?is=86KMzUfRde3BBJaJ Pets for Sunday : https://youtube.com/shorts/XRy7MFgKrTg?is=BLb0m32UkffvrCDb Playgroup 8/12: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBKAGlc9KOfk Tilly and Sunday meet: https://youtube.com/shorts/I51hozjvjFQ?si=zzAIEI_BfX2hiJmy Misty and Sunday: https://youtu.be/jo-djdMyquc?is=UvduKqmfuUYzoYkv ⭐Behavioral Notes⭐ 08/12/2026 Playgroup Steer Test - Water 4/5, Can 4/5 With fence greeting, he ran up to the fence, hackles raised, high tail, muzzle punched. Able to disengage. 08/09/2026 per staff: Kennel Presentation: At the front of his kennel, soft eyes, ears back, loose body, mid level loose wags. Took a treat gently through the bars. Leash Skills: Tossed treats to move him back, when he came back to the front was easily leashed and came right out. Walked pulling mildly on leash. Would occasionally pull strongly towards areas to sniff. Sociability: Would not come over when called, came over for treats and took them gently. Allowed all handling with ears to the side, mid to high tail, loose body, slightly open mouth. Would remine next to me for a second after I stopped then moved away to sniff. Play: n/a Dog Interaction: Saw dogs through the fence, sniffed at them with a high tail, ears to the side and moved away. Return to Kennel: Clipped leash on return due to notes of needing two handlers to return on walk sheet. Walked pulling mildly, eyes darting, high tail. Slowed down and started to lower his body as we got closer, picked up the pace into a light jog and he kept moving and hopped right in. Color Level: Blue Recommendations and considerations: If he continues to go into kennel on his own can be leveled down 08/08/2026 per staff: sitting quietly at the front of the kennel, soft eyes, ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia.
