Story
Meet Suki! This lovely lady is a star in the making, and we’re searching for her Lorelai. Just like her Gilmore Girls namesake, Suki is an absolute perfectionist when it comes to being the ultimate sidekick. She’s not just a dog; she’s that witty, wonderful, totally unique partner you’ve been looking for. Overall, Suki is a total sweetheart with a gentle soul and a unique, lovable spirit. Her favorite thing in the world is being a giant couch potato. Her true passion? Snuggling up on the sofa and enjoying the soothing sights and sounds of the "Dog TV" channel. Suki is a social butterfly! She gets along splendidly with other dogs, whether it’s her current doggy-roommate or her extended family. She does get a little excited on leash when she sees friends, but it’s pure, happy anticipation, never aggressive. Because Suki likely didn't have a "prep school" education in her past life, she’s still learning the fine art of indoor etiquette. In her early days, she was a bit of a "connoisseur" of comforter corners and clothes—basically, if she didn't have a job to do, she’d invent one (usually involving interior design via chewing!). It's a good reminder that she’s a bright girl who needs her mind engaged. Like any good sidekick, she just needs to know the "script." As long as she has plenty of enrichment toys, puzzle feeders, and active engagement, she’ll keep her focus on her toys instead of your fabric.  Suki is a unique artist when it comes to the bathroom arts! While she isn't completely housebroken in the traditional sense, she’s magically perfect with either wee-pads or going outside. She will only go in one of those two places, making her easy to manage. Due to her current schedule, she hasn’t been crate trained, but she’s clearly a quick learner. If you’re looking for a friendly, adaptable companion who will happily share her favorite spot on the couch, Suki is ready to be your Stars Hollow-worthy BFF. Fill out an application today and complete this winning dynamic duo! Vaccinated for Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. Neutered and microchipped. Tested for vector-borne illnesses. Current on flea, tick, and heart worm prevention.  To apply to adopt Suki, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Questions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2659801##

Story
Meet Petra, a super sweet and spunky 4 month old female German Wirehaired Pointer mix puppy! Petra is one of the pups from the Oktoberfest litter, born to mama Gretchen (37 lb German Wirehaired Pointer mix - found as a stray in east TN when she was heavily pregnant) on 10/29/2025. We are unsure what Dad is, but based on the pups' current age and size, we think these scruffy pups will grow to around 40-60 lbs.  From Petra, Freya, and Heidi's current foster:  "These three amazing puppies are the perfect mix of loving cuddle bugs and confident little explorers. They absolutely love cuddling up in your lap for snuggles, but they’re also wonderfully independent and happy to entertain themselves with a ball or a squeaky toy when playtime calls.  They are playful, kind-hearted, and gentle souls who get along amazingly with other dogs, cats, and kids. These beautiful pups are true social butterflies with great manners for their age. Whether it’s playing by themselves or together or settling in for a nap, they adjust beautifully. All three are crate trained and are doing great with potty training. They currently use pee pads indoors, eat wonderfully, and are taken outside right after meals, where they already know how to do their business outdoors, such smart girls! If you’re looking for a puppy who is affectionate, fun, well socialized, and off to a fantastic start with training, these girls will steal your heart in no time. Petra: Confident and playful, Petra loves her toys and has a curious, adventurous spirit that makes every day brighter. Freya: The perfect balance of calm and silly, Freya enjoys independent play and then settling in for the coziest snuggles. Heidi: A total lap lover with a gentle heart, Heidi is happiest when she’s cuddled up close but always ready to join the fun." Petra is medically up to date (age appropriate) and is so excited to embark on her next adventure - finding her furever family! Apply to meet this sweetie today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2594681##
