Story
Aspen is a 2-year-old, 14lb Schnauzer with a soft heart and a gentle spirit. This sweet girl is currently learning how to feel safe and confident in the busy kennel environment, and every day she’s making quiet progress. Aspen absolutely loves other dogs and truly blossoms around them. She takes comfort in canine friends and would do best in a home with another confident, friendly dog who can help show her the ropes and continue building her confidence. When it comes to people, Aspen is still learning that hands can bring kindness and good things. She’s building trust at her own pace and will need a patient, understanding adopter who will let her come around in her own time. Once she feels safe, her gentle and loving nature shines through. Right now, Aspen does not walk on leash and will require a secure, fenced-in yard where she can safely explore and do her business. With consistency and positive reinforcement, she may gain leash skills in the future, but she’ll need time and encouragement. Aspen is looking for a calm, patient home and An adopter committed to helping her continue building confidence If you have a soft spot for shy dogs and believe in the beauty of watching trust grow, Aspen may be your perfect match. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
Jack is an adorable 8-month-old Schnauzer weighing 18 pounds of scruffy sweetness. With his expressive eyes and charming personality, he’s sure to win you over in no time. Jack is still learning how to be a puppy, so he can be a little shy at first. New environments and new faces can make him unsure, but with patience, kindness, and a gentle approach, his true personality begins to shine. Once he feels safe, Jack blossoms into a loving, loyal companion who enjoys being close to his people. Because he’s still building confidence, Jack would do best in a home with another friendly dog to help show him the ropes and continue boosting his confidence. A calm, supportive environment will help him grow into the amazing companion he’s meant to be. To ensure the best possible match, a meet and greet at our shelter is required for all potential adopters. We want to make sure Jack finds the perfect fit — and that your home is the perfect fit for him. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet.
