Story
** If you are interested in adopting Pluto, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Meet Pluto! Pluto is a silly and friendly 10 month old, 35 pound Schnoodle mix. His breed is of course just a guess, as we do not DNA test rescue dogs, but the Houston vets believe him to be a Schnauzer / Poodle mix. (He may very likely just be a Schnauzer instead of a mix, though!) This sweet guy ended up in a scary shelter in Texas after being found as a stray, but now has arrived to Colorado for a fresh start. Pluto is super friendly with both people and other dogs, and he thrives on attention and playtime. From Pluto's foster: * * * * "Pluto is the sweetest, most affectionate guy! He is a big goofball and a big player. We have 2 young, medium sized dogs who Pluto plays very well with and he LOVES TO PLAY. He would do great with another playful, young dog, because he plays hard and a lot! Pluto is a puppy, so needs basic training but he is VERY smart and so easily trainable! We taught him to sit in a literal minute. Pluto has a wonderful personality and loves being close to his people. He is a total cuddle bug and thrives on attention and cuddles us in bed at night. He sleeps in the silliest ways! He gets along great with new people and other dogs, and while he can get a bit excited when first meeting new pups, it’s all friendly excitement. Pluto is playful, active, and full of joy. He loves toys, balls, and playing fetch, and he enjoys running around the backyard just as much as curling up for a snuggle afterward. Pluto would do best with someone active, and with a yard for him to play in. At night, Pluto prefers to cuddle in bed. Pluto is learning to be comfortable in his kennel when we leave the house. He doesn't love being crated, and will bark in the crate at first but eventually settles. I would say he is potty trained, as he has not had any accidents! He can be mouthy when he plays, like the puppy that he is, but he will probably grow out of that. He is a smiler and smiles when he gets excited or when I get home!" * * * * We do not recommend Pluto with kids under 10 years old because of his energy level and size. Since Pluto is so young, he is a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. With positive reinforcement training, he has all the potential in the world to be a loyal, well-mannered adult companion. He’ll thrive with virtual or in-person force-free training classes, which will help strengthen his bond with his humans and build him confidence. Pluto is up to date on his vaccinations and is neutered. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
Meet Thratcher! At just 3 months old and 15 pounds, Thratcher is already winning hearts everywhere he goes! This adorable Schnauzer/German Shepherd mix is the perfect blend of playful, smart, and incredibly social. Thratcher absolutely loves other dogs and would be thrilled to have a canine buddy to romp around with. He’s confident, friendly, and always ready to make a new friend—whether they have two legs or four. People? He adores them. Expect lots of happy tail wags and enthusiastic greetings! As a young puppy, Thratcher is at the perfect age to start learning all the good stuff—basic training, house manners, and fun tricks. With his Shepherd smarts and Schnauzer charm, he’s sure to be a quick learner and a loyal companion. Thratcher is looking for a family ready to guide him through puppyhood with patience, love, and plenty of playtime. In return, he promises endless cuddles, joyful zoomies, and a lifetime of friendship. If you’re ready to add a social butterfly with a big personality (and an even bigger heart) to your life, Thratcher can’t wait to meet you! ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!
