Story
** If you are interested in adopting Pluto, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Meet Pluto! Pluto is a silly and friendly 10 month old, 35 pound Schnoodle mix. His breed is of course just a guess, as we do not DNA test rescue dogs, but the Houston vets believe him to be a Schnauzer / Poodle mix. (He may very likely just be a Schnauzer instead of a mix, though!) This sweet guy ended up in a scary shelter in Texas after being found as a stray, but now has arrived to Colorado for a fresh start. Pluto is super friendly with both people and other dogs, and he thrives on attention and playtime. From Pluto's foster: * * * * "Pluto is the sweetest, most affectionate guy! He is a big goofball and a big player. We have 2 young, medium sized dogs who Pluto plays very well with and he LOVES TO PLAY. He would do great with another playful, young dog, because he plays hard and a lot! Pluto is a puppy, so needs basic training but he is VERY smart and so easily trainable! We taught him to sit in a literal minute. Pluto has a wonderful personality and loves being close to his people. He is a total cuddle bug and thrives on attention and cuddles us in bed at night. He sleeps in the silliest ways! He gets along great with new people and other dogs, and while he can get a bit excited when first meeting new pups, it’s all friendly excitement. Pluto is playful, active, and full of joy. He loves toys, balls, and playing fetch, and he enjoys running around the backyard just as much as curling up for a snuggle afterward. Pluto would do best with someone active, and with a yard for him to play in. At night, Pluto prefers to cuddle in bed. Pluto is learning to be comfortable in his kennel when we leave the house. He doesn't love being crated, and will bark in the crate at first but eventually settles. I would say he is potty trained, as he has not had any accidents! He can be mouthy when he plays, like the puppy that he is, but he will probably grow out of that. He is a smiler and smiles when he gets excited or when I get home!" * * * * We do not recommend Pluto with kids under 10 years old because of his energy level and size. Since Pluto is so young, he is a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. With positive reinforcement training, he has all the potential in the world to be a loyal, well-mannered adult companion. He’ll thrive with virtual or in-person force-free training classes, which will help strengthen his bond with his humans and build him confidence. Pluto is up to date on his vaccinations and is neutered. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
Spot absolutely loves people and enjoys being around his humans as much as possible. He also does wonderfully with other dogs and would really enjoy having a dog friend or two in his new home to play and relax with. He has a calm and easygoing nature but still has a playful side that comes out when he is having fun with his friends.   He walks nicely on leash, seems to be potty trained, and is food motivated which makes him eager to learn and easy to work with. Spot carries himself with a relaxed confidence and a sweet demeanor that makes him a joy to be around.   With his scruffy coat, charming smile, and expressive face, Spot is the kind of dog who will turn heads wherever he goes. He has been looking for love in all the wrong places, but now he is ready to find a cozy and caring home where he can finally settle in for good.   If you are looking for a lovable, gentle companion with a big heart and an even bigger personality, Spot is ready to meet you and become part of your family. Spot was rescued from a shelter in New Mexico. He will be available to meet starting 3/14! Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  ##2677826##
