Story
Princess (A118090) is an 11-year-old husky who weighed over 50 lbs at intake!12/13/25 This sweet older gal is Princess! Despite her age, she remains a curious, playful, and incredibly sweet girl, although she can be a little timid. Princess thrives in a calm, stable environment where she feels safe and loved. She enjoys leisurely walks on a leash and loves car rides, making her a great companion for someone who appreciates gentle outdoor activities and quiet moments together. Princess is a truly special dog who will reward her family with loyalty, affection, and companionship. She is looking for someone who will appreciate her gentle soul and give her the loving retirement she deserves. Princess was said to get along with other dogs and children. Please make sure any and all introductions are done in a slow and controlled manner. Courtesy of the shelter fund, Princess was sent out for a senior workup and dental cleaning! If you are interested in meeting Princess, please give us a call!07/10/19 Princess came to the shelter because her owner could no longer care for her. She is an outside dog and has been trained for mushing; she generally ran as a wheel dog. Princess is extremely shy with strangers and will do best in a home with those that understand they will need to go slow with her. If you have children, please bring them down to meet Princess prior to adoption. Princess will need to be on a leash at all times outside- if she is loose or gets spooked and takes off she will not come to you. While at the shelter Princess got away from a tender in our fenced dog walking yard and we had to bring her sister Blackie in to retrieve her. Princess was kept with her sister Blackie and another dog, but may not do as well with unfamiliar dogs, as she has not been socialized extensively. If you have another dog in the home, she should meet that dog prior to adoption to ensure she can live happily with it. If you have room in your life for a pair, Princess would enjoy being adopted with her sister Blackie- they live and work well together. Blackie may be a confidence booster for her and together they might be great candidates for a child's beginning mushing team.December 29, 2025, 7:13 pm

Story
Mavis (A135771) is an 8-year-old AK Husky who most recently weighed 39.4lbs pounds!12/17/25 Miss Mavis is back at the shelter and looking for her new place to call home! Even though she is reaching her senior years and a tripod, she does not let that slow her down one bit! Mavis is full of spunk and energy! It was previously noted that she would do best in a home without small children or smaller-sized pets (small dogs, cats, or pocket pets). She did live with other dogs of similar size but enjoys her space and â&#194&#128&#194&#156meâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 time. It was noted that Mavis is kennel-trained and housebroken! Mavis would love to find a home that can keep her both mentally and physically stimulated; she may enjoy puzzle toys! If you are interested in meeting Mavis, please let us know! 12/26/24 Mavis is back from her foster and ready to find her forever home! While she was staying with her foster it was noted that Mavis may do best in a home without young children, small dogs, cats or pocket pets. Mavis thoroughly enjoys her own time and would much prefer to keep to herself rather than share with other pets in the foster home. Despite having had her left hind leg amputated, Mavis still has plenty of get-up-and-go! She would love a home where she could stay active and go on many adventures with her family. Mavis kept her kennel very clean while staying with her foster and did not have a problem going outside for potty breaks. The foster also noted that Mavis loves going for car rides and having a comfy place to rest at the end of the day. If you are interested in meeting Mavis, please let us know! 10/02/24 This perfect girl is Miss Mavis! Mavis was surrendered to the shelter because she needed emergent medical attention. She had her left hind leg amputated and has a wound being treated on her right front leg from a bullet wound. Even though she has undergone quite a traumatic ordeal her positive attitude has not waivered! Mavis is always happy to greet everyone she sees and has been quite the patient girl during her treatment. We do not know how she was in her last home behavioral wise but at the shelter she has been a good girl. She appears to be housebroken and will potty outside. Mavis seems playful toward her doggy neighbors but possibly a little too interested in smaller critters. She may do best in a home without cats or pocket pets. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with any and all new potential friends. She is also quite the puller on the leash. Donâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t let her being a tripod fool you, she is ready to go go go! If you are interested in meeting sweet Mavis, please let us know! December 29, 2025, 9:26 pm

Husky Karelian Bear Dog

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Clay (A140074) is a 5-year-old AK Husky x Karelian Bear Dog mix who weighed nearly 55 pounds on intake! 01/12/26 Clay is back at the shelter and looking for his perfect fit. He was a bit more of a handful than his owner was prepared for. Clay was said to be kennel-trained but is not fully housebroken. He is looking for a patient owner who can help him get on a routine and master his potty training. Clay was described as shy but friendly and was stated to do great with children. He has no known history with other animals. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions. He was also stated to have a gentle style of play. We encourage his next owner to bring him to a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to continue working on his manners and to learn a trick or two. He is a smart active breed looking for a home that can keep him stimulated and out of trouble! Clay was also said to ride well in vehicles and would love to go on plenty of adventures. If you are interested in meeting Clay, please let us know! 10/30/25 This sweet excitable boy is Clay! Clay arrived at the shelter as a stray and is now looking for his new place to call home! At the shelter, he has been eager to meet new people and does not seem fussed by his doggy neighbors. As he was a stray, we do not know his experience with children or other animals. Please ensure you are making slow, safe, and controlled introductions with all new potential friends. Huskies are known for having high prey drives so take extra caution with smaller critters. Clay was found running at large and has proven to have plenty of energy to burn. He is looking for a home that can keep him both mentally and physically. He should also be on a leash, secure tie-out, and supervised in a fenced in yard. We have found that he loves the game of keep away (but does so in a playful manner). At the shelter, he has also shown that he does have a chill side and will lie on a blanket and relax as well. He is looking for that perfect balance. If you are interested in meeting Clay, please let us know! January 13, 2026, 8:06 pm
