Story
Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Transferred to Colorado Puppy Rescue from Animal Rescue Friends of Floydada (Texas). Mama (named Brooke at intake) and 7 puppies, 3M 4F. Per partner notes, originated from a large-scale hoarding situation involving numerous Huskies, including multiple pregnant females and young puppies . From the foster: Words can not describe what a gem mama Brooke is. When this girl first came to us she was so scared she wouldn’t walk. I had to carry her outside to go potty. Now she LOVES the outdoors. She spends most of her days lounging in the sun and throwing in some serious zoomies. She is a high energy dog and would love to have another playful dog friend. She really kind of learned the ropes of being a dog from our dog so I think she would continue to thrive with a playful pup friend. She loves hiking, walks around the neighborhood and playing with her pups. She is great with kids but is still learning that when they get wound up playing, it’s not something she needs to protect so she can be a little mouthy but responds really well to corrections. She is learning sit, down, high five and picks new tricks up incredibly fast! She figured out our dog door with ease and lets herself in and out to go potty. We have not had an accident in the house since the first week she came to us. She is very curious about cats and likes to stalk them from time to time but we’ve never seen her be aggressive towards them. She is still very much a puppy herself and will happily chew up your shoes or toys if left out so having appropriate chew toys for her is very helpful. She does not love her crate and could use some crate training, but will stay in it if you need. We have been leaving her out at night and she does just fine with no accidents. And when we leave we leave her out with access to the dog door and she’s been great with that as well. She has been the best mamas to her babies but now she is so ready to be a puppy herself and get all the love! She’s very timid at first meet but don’t let that discourage, she’s still just unsure about this world. But once she trusts you, she is an absolute love and would make the most wonderful addition to any family! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
