Story
We have a healthy, beautiful 1yr old husky/malamute mix who we adopted at 10-wks. We already had two 9-yr-old small dogs and thought that her growing up with them would be fine. We’ve had Kodi for a year now and she is the sweetest, cutest, most loving, and smart dog however her natural prey drive is instinctively too much for our little dogs and cat. So I would say she’s not a good fit for any families with small animals, but great for a family with kids or big dogs. She is a sweet and playful dog, LOVES playtime with my kids, and loves her toys, but she doesn’t get enough exercise due to our work and kid sport schedules. The decision to re-home breaks our hearts, but she is just not a fit for our family right now - it’s unfair to her that we don’t have the time to devote to her due to work and kid sports, and also unfair to our old little dogs. Needs a fam with time to devote and a yard. House trained, kennel trained, vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and about full grown at 50 lb

Story
HOMEOWNERSHIP REQUIRED! Introducing Dire! Dire is a 2 year old husky mix, and he is a 24/7 happy, affectionate, and outgoing kiddo who believes everyone he meets is his new best friend. He does great with dogs of all sizes and cats, and would love a playful dog or dog-savvy cat buddy, though it’s not required if his home provides lots of playtime, attention, and regular dog friends. Dire has the energy of a young pup and is always playing with his toys. He loves fetch and can happily entertain himself with a tennis ball for hours. His new home should be prepared for a dog who thrives on play. A secure, fenced yard is required, as backyard play sessions are key to keeping him happy and comfortable. Dire was born with a condition called Myasthenia Gravis, but he does not require any special treatment, regimen, or medication. Because of this, Dire needs a home with a dog door or one that can provide regular trips outside. He’s learning to signal when he needs to go, but once he does, he needs quick access outside. Dire has been through training and knows the basics, though, like many huskies, he can be a bit of a lovable spaz. He does well on walks but isn’t a candidate for long ones; short walks are best, while yard play suits him perfectly. Despite his energy, he thinks he’s about 20 pounds and loves to cuddle. He’s also making great progress with house manners. He may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but Dire more than makes up for it with his joyful spirit and love of life. Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##2363963##

Story
&#226&#156&#168 Meet Erica — Your Ride-or-Die Adventure Girl! &#226&#156&#168 If you’re looking for a best friend, shadow, and lifelong sidekick, Erica is that girl. Erica is a 10-week-old puppy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She’s loyal, smart, and spunky, the kind of dog who wants to be wherever you are — hiking trails, weekend adventures, or just following you from room to room like your built-in bestie.  Erica in a nutshell: A true ride-or-die companion Smart, eager, and excellent adventure material Great with dogs and people Best with older kids or kids who understand big-dog energy Already crate trained & dog-door trained (yes, already!) Would love a canine buddy to pal around with  Important to know: Erica is not an apartment dog — she’s a bit of a talker when left alone and prefers a home where she has space, stimulation, and ideally another dog for company.January 10, 2026, 11:21 am

Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Pochocco #1 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Pochacco | 7-Month-Old Husky | A Shy Soul with a Playful Husky Heart Pochacco—affectionately known as “Muchacho,” “Chacho” and “Mucho” in his foster home—is a 7-month-old Husky who is still learning that the world can be a safe and happy place. He’s already a big boy and growing into those classic husky traits: playful, curious, occasionally vocal, and full of potential. He’s close to being house trained, though adopters should expect some accidents during the transition to a new environment. He does best when crated at night or when left alone, as he’s firmly in the mischievous puppy phase and enjoys exploring with his mouth. Pochacco is very shy with people and currently fearful of leashes and cars, so walks are still a work in progress. He has shown steady improvement, but passing cars can still startle him and he will try to retreat. When he first arrived, he wouldn’t allow pets at all, but with time, patience, and the influence of the confident dogs in his foster home, he has begun to seek out gentle affection. He seems to warm up to women more quickly than men, though with consistency and kindness he continues building trust with everyone. He is very much a dog’s dog and absolutely thrives around other dogs—playing chase, wrestling, and gaining confidence from their presence. Because of this, Pochacco will need a home with another playful, confident dog to help guide him. He also does well with cats and generally ignores them. As he’s become more comfortable, Pochacco has started showing affection in his own husky way—through excited “love nibbles.” These are not aggressive, but they can be enthusiastic, so he would do best in a home with older children who can understand and help reinforce appropriate boundaries. This sweet boy loves toys, treats, and canine companionship. While he’s still building confidence with cuddles, he enjoys being near his people and observing from a safe distance. Pochacco will do best with a calm, patient adopter who understands huskies (or is eager to learn), has a securely fenced yard, and is committed to ongoing training and confidence-building. With time and understanding, he has all the makings of a loyal, playful, and deeply devoted companion—he just needs the right environment to help him shine.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $425. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
