Story
We have a healthy, beautiful 1yr old husky/malamute mix who we adopted at 10-wks. We already had two 9-yr-old small dogs and thought that her growing up with them would be fine. We’ve had Kodi for a year now and she is the sweetest, cutest, most loving, and smart dog however her natural prey drive is instinctively too much for our little dogs and cat. So I would say she’s not a good fit for any families with small animals, but great for a family with kids or big dogs. She is a sweet and playful dog, LOVES playtime with my kids, and loves her toys, but she doesn’t get enough exercise due to our work and kid sport schedules. The decision to re-home breaks our hearts, but she is just not a fit for our family right now - it’s unfair to her that we don’t have the time to devote to her due to work and kid sports, and also unfair to our old little dogs. Needs a fam with time to devote and a yard. House trained, kennel trained, vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and about full grown at 50 lb

Story
HOMEOWNERSHIP REQUIRED! Introducing Dire! Dire is a 2 year old husky mix, and he is a 24/7 happy, affectionate, and outgoing kiddo who believes everyone he meets is his new best friend. He does great with dogs of all sizes and cats, and would love a playful dog or dog-savvy cat buddy, though it’s not required if his home provides lots of playtime, attention, and regular dog friends. Dire has the energy of a young pup and is always playing with his toys. He loves fetch and can happily entertain himself with a tennis ball for hours. His new home should be prepared for a dog who thrives on play. A secure, fenced yard is required, as backyard play sessions are key to keeping him happy and comfortable. Dire was born with a condition called Myasthenia Gravis, but he does not require any special treatment, regimen, or medication. Because of this, Dire needs a home with a dog door or one that can provide regular trips outside. He’s learning to signal when he needs to go, but once he does, he needs quick access outside. Dire has been through training and knows the basics, though, like many huskies, he can be a bit of a lovable spaz. He does well on walks but isn’t a candidate for long ones; short walks are best, while yard play suits him perfectly. Despite his energy, he thinks he’s about 20 pounds and loves to cuddle. He’s also making great progress with house manners. He may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but Dire more than makes up for it with his joyful spirit and love of life. Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##2363963##

&#226&#156&#168 Meet Erica — Your Ride-or-Die Adventure Girl! &#226&#156&#168 If you’re looking for a best friend, shadow, and lifelong sidekick, Erica is that girl. Erica is a 10-week-old puppy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She’s loyal, smart, and spunky, the kind of dog who wants to be wherever you are — hiking trails, weekend adventures, or just following you from room to room like your built-in bestie.  Erica in a nutshell: A true ride-or-die companion Smart, eager, and excellent adventure material Great with dogs and people Best with older kids or kids who understand big-dog energy Already crate trained & dog-door trained (yes, already!) Would love a canine buddy to pal around with  Important to know: Erica is not an apartment dog — she’s a bit of a talker when left alone and prefers a home where she has space, stimulation, and ideally another dog for company.January 10, 2026, 11:21 am

For more information, please contact Destination Rescue Dogs at info@destinationrescue.org or amber.schroeder@gmail.com or call 602-743-0006   Meet Sasha! Found wandering along railroad tracks with her two puppies, Sasha was heartbreakingly thin and struggling to survive. She protected her little family with everything she had, but when rescued, it was clear she was exhausted and malnourished. Fortunately, her foster mom found her and took amazing care of her!  Sasha is thriving in her foster home and ready to find her forever family! Sasha is the perfect blend of playful energy and loyal companionship. This gorgeous girl is the kind of dog who’ll make every day a little brighter, whether she’s chasing after her favorite ball or curling up at your feet after a long day. Sasha absolutely lives for a good game of fetch, she could play for hours if you let her, always ready with that eager tail wag and happy grin that says, “One more throw, please!” When it’s time to relax, Sasha knows how to settle in. She’s crate trained, completely house trained, and loves nothing more than being near her people snuggled close while you watch your favorite show or unwind for the evening. She walks beautifully on a leash or harness, making her the perfect adventure buddy for anyone who enjoys strolls around the neighborhood or exploring the trails. Sasha would thrive with an active family or someone willing to throw the ball for her every day. She gets along well with other dogs but would be just as happy soaking up all the love as your one and only. In every way, Sasha is ready to be someone’s best friend, playful, loving, loyal, and full of heart. If you’re looking for a dog who will bring laughter, companionship, and endless games of fetch into your life, Sasha is waiting to meet you. Sasha is approximately 3 years old and weighs about 48 lbs. Sasha is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas but is available for transport to many locations across the country. Transport fee is included in her adoption fee.December 25, 2025, 10:44 am

Story
Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Transferred from Humane Society of Pikes Peak at 10 weeks old. Litter of 7 was surrendered by owner, who stated that a stray dog got into his yard and got his dog pregnant. Six of the puppies were mostly healthy, though underweight, and Spot was is poor condition with potential ruptured globes and eyelids barely open, extremely underweight. Shelter requested to transfer him separately as a result. Mom dog was reported by owner as Akita, dad as lab. Name at intake was Lemon, foster calls him Spot. UPDATE: Spot's examination revealed significant scarring and iris adhesions in the right eye, likely from a previous corneal perforation. This limits his field of view in that eye but does not cause blindness. The left eye has mild, resolving cloudiness (puppy dystrophy) that is not affecting his vision. No treatment is required at this time. Future monitoring of his eye pressures is recommended, and Mountain Star Specialists in Centennial, CO can see him for the "follow-up" fee versus starting him as a new patient if his new family would like. From the foster: Meet Spot! Spot is a very playful pup who is equally happy doing the following hobbies: eating, sleeping, chewing, playing and rough housing with his foster siblings. Eating: Spot is not a picky eater. He has a healthy appetite and equally healthy poops. He is food motivated and loves to eat all kinds of dog treats. Crate: He sleeps just fine in his crate. He will cry for a few moments, then he calms down. At night, it has helped to put a blanket over the crate to help him relax. After he wakes up (around 5:00 am to go potty with his sister) he will then come down to snuggle on the daybed. He sleeps well in both crate and in a bed. Chewing: He is deep into his velociraptor phase. He does try to chew on your clothes and hands. We have been saying a firm “NO” and then placing an appropriate item to chew and praise him “chew. Good boy”. We put him on the floor when we don’t have something to chew on so that way he doesn’t get attention for chewing, but the floor is literally full of toys to chew on. He loves both hard objects such as Nyla bones as well as the squeaky and crinkly toys. Potty Training: Spot is still learning to go outside. He is currently in a male diaper as he has had a few accidents. He will wait by the door, but he won’t cry to go outside. He does need a little time to find his potty routine for sure. Spot does well with other pups. He would love to have one to play with. He is such a wonderful and loving companion. He’s so soft, you can literally just snuggle and pet him all day if he would let you. He is 💯 good boy! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Story
Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Transferred in from Aurora Animal Shelter, two 6wk puppies, females. Had a seizure episode on 12/26 and will need cause determined and spay before available for adoption. Check back for update. *Tipsy has a neurological specialist appointment on 1/14 to determine cause of seizure before spay. Depending on how that appointment goes, these sisters will likely be spayed the week of 1/18. Potential available date 1/24 but no guarantees.* UPDATE: the cause of Tipsy's seizure at 6 weeks old was never determined, and she has not had any further complications. Her neurologist advised that she should avoid jolting movements while on her back during spay; no additional ongoing neurological follow-up. From the foster: Tipsy is a sweet and very special soul who will need on-going support, care, and love. She is a very happy puppy who loves all people and pups. She is that annoying little sister who wants to be with the "big dogs" and sometimes needs reminders to give them space. She redirects well. Tipsy has a few unique needs and her new furever family will need to do what they can to continue to support her. She can run and play, yet her gait is still a little stiff in her front legs. The neurologist calls it "toy soldier" walk. She also sometimes has a tricky time with spatial awareness (not sure what is neuro and what is puppy) and cannot descend stairs consistently yet (she's trying) or jump from high places. She has not had any seizures the 6 weeks she has been with us. She can run, walk, and loves to play. She seems to be getting better with balance, gait, and strength as she grows. She is very friendly to all ages of people and pups. Noises still surprise her and she tends to run back to me when unsure. She has tried walking on a leash with a harness and continues to get the hang of it. She is learning potty training and will go outside or on reusable pads. She also still has accidents. She is treat motivated and has learned sit already. She loves to eat and drink. She plays well independently and has been sleeping in a crated space (crate connected to open potty area). She goes to bed easily with a kong filled with kibble. Tipsy is a one of a kind love and with continued support she will thrive. She loves her humans and has the best look into your soul eyes, wavy soft fur, and a black tongue. Everyone who meets her loves her and we hope you will too. *Due to her unique needs additional questions/adopter requirements may be required www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
