Story
Hi! I'm Collins. I'm from Missouri. From his foster: Collins is a 5-yr old fluffy snow ball, 16-lb, low energy, mellow pup, who wants to lay next to you. He is good with dogs and kids, cats are unknown. He rarely barks and happy to just lay around and cuddle. He doesn't like to be left alone at home or in the crate. He loves walking short distances only as he's tiny. He also loves going into his crate to nap but has severe separation anxiety when everyone leaves the house. I usually play soothing music or have the TV on when I go out, so he doesn't stress out. He can bark for a few hours when left alone and hence he will be best suited for homes where someone is usually present. Else he's a pretty low maintenance dog. Older dogs and older, considerate kids should be okay. Collins will not alert you to go on potty breaks so after eating if you take him outside for a short walk, you can avoid accidents in the house. A good routine will be best for him. He's not fussy about anything else as long as someone is around him.

These pups are in Blaine, Minnesota too!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Name: Yuki Sex: Female Color: Isabella White Eye Color: Brown Birthday: 11/15/20 Weight: 40 Large Dog Friendly: Yes, she does really well with all the dogs she meets at the dog park. At home she tends to get nervous with other dogs when they are too hyper or wild. Small Dog Friendly: Unknown Cat Friendly: No Crate Trained: At this time, no, as she is not used to being in a crate. Appears to have some separation anxiety and will need work to get crate trained. Housebroken: Yes Energy Level: She is typically very calm, but does get zoomies and likes to run around. She would do best in a home where she can relax, cuddle and get all the belly rubs! She also loves walks, and regular runs in a fenced in yard/area Reaction to New People: She is shy at first, but warms up quickly and loves pets. Needs to work on socialization with new people and situations Kid Friendly: Older and calmer would be best for her, as young kids and their noises and quick movements make her nervous. Training: She knows the basics, but could use some better leash manners as she likes to jump around and go all husky when asked to go potty. She needs socialization to learn some confidence in new/public situations. Like most huskies, she is a runner, so caution by the doors and getting in and out of the car is needed. Fence: Currently she goes out on a leash to go potty and then back in, as she does not appear to like the cold as much as a lot of huskies. She does respect the fence at a dog park, but at home would need to be on a tie out or supervised as she will dig under or try to climb out. Solo or Siblings: She would love to be the lone center of human attention, but could also like a sibling to play with, depending on the dog as she can be picky about her playmates and if they are too hyper she can be nervous. From the Foster: Yuki is a furry little princess that loves all the attention. She is overall pretty calm, but also has her husky zoomies. Since a small pup, she has always been a bit shy and hesitant in unknown situations/people and needs to build her confidence, but she does love to explore, and would benefit from socialization and group training class. Like a typical husky, she loves to run, climb, jump etc, so may also benefit from joring or agility classes. She is tolerant of baths, but is scared of water otherwise, and will tip-toe through wet grass. She loves attention and belly rubs, and will lay on her back and paw at you or reach out to you for more if you stop. She is an all around adventurous, loving, curious and goofy girl who needs a best friend to cuddle, experience life with, and to help her overcome her nervousness/fear of the world. Adoption Fee: $50 All dogs coming into Adopt a Husky Minnesota receive care tailored to their needs, including: Nose-to-tail exam with a partner veterinarian, Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella), 4DX test to check for heartworm or tick exposure, Fecal Analysis, Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative, Spay/Neuter prior to adoption, Microchip, and are evaluated for temperament and trainability.

Story
Name: Bob Barker Sex: Male Color: Silver-Gray Eye Color: Blue Birthday: 10/30/2022 (estimated) Weight: 47 lbs Large Dog Friendly: Loves energetic dog play. Friendly with female dogs but has been selective with other male dogs. Gradual, supervised introduction needed. Small Dog Friendly: Yes, but his "friendliness might be too energetic Cat Friendly: Definitely not! (Based on reaction to free-roaming neighborhood cats) Crate Trained: Yes. Eats, sleeps and rests in his kennel. Happy to enter, settles quickly, sleeps quietly through the night. Will protest briefly if he sees that his human is leaving the house, but responds to "Quiet. Stay. Housebroken: Yes. Energy Level: High. Plays hard. Needs mental and physical activity, walks that include exercise, training and sniff time, and long-lasting treat toys. Reaction to New People: Curious, eager, friendly. Loves kisses. Needs work on jumping up. Kid Friendly: Has met children only through a fence. Due to energetic play style, would do best with older, dog-savvy children. Training: Reliable Sit. Knows Wait, Back (behind a boundary) - needs work on duration. Comes when called, but distractable. Grooming Needs: Standard Husky Coat. Needs at least weekly brushing with an undercoat rake or pin brush (no furminators/blades). Easy to groom, no reactivity to handling ears, feet. Tolerates baths; doesn't love the blower, but no loud drama about it. Fence: Yes! 5+ feet with a locked gate. Great at opening gates and doors, will squeeze through any opening. Not great on a tie-out; he will fight until he is tangled in it, then try to chew himself free. Solo or Siblings: Bob would love a dog sister. Relationship with dog brothers would require a slower introduction. A more mature, confident dog companion would help him learn the ropes in a new home. He also loves snuggling and play with an active human. From the Foster: Bob is a really great dog! He's a strong, energetic, young husky. He loves to play and explore from morning 'til night - preferably outdoors. He also loves to snuggle in laps and give kisses. He's never met a human he doesn't love. He still needs practice at keeping four feet on the floor while greeting. His interactions with other dogs have been mixed. He bonds quickly with female dogs but doesn't like to share them with other male dogs. He needs a special human who will provide consistent leadership and super take time to supervise gradual introductions to male dogs in the house. He will chill next to my work desk for an hour, with a selection of good chew toys, but he'd rather be playing. He will hop right into his kennel for food and sleep contentedly, but he does not like to see his people leave the house without him. He will complain a bit but responds to Quiet-Stay. He loves long walks, especially good sniffing walks. He'll walk beside you, if you require it, but would rather be out front and pulling if you let him. He would definitely enjoy pulling sports. This playful boy will make a great adventure buddy for an active family. Adoption fee: $400 All dogs coming into Adopt a Husky Minnesota receive care tailored to their needs, including: Nose-to-tail exam with a partner veterinarian, Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella), 4DX test to check for heartworm or tick exposure, Fecal Analysis, Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative, Spay/Neuter prior to adoption, Microchip, and are evaluated for temperament and trainability.

Story
Name: Teddy Color: Red & White Eye Color: Blue Birthday: 09-24-2021 (estimated) Weight: 60 Large dog friendly: Yes Small dog friendly: No Cat friendly: No, strong prey drive Crate trained: Yes, but does whine, pace and bark. He occasionally will soil his kennel too. We are using a prescribed medication to help ease his anxiety. House-trained: Somewhat, still has accidents and will use a puppy pad when we are not home. . This seems to be another anxiety problem. Energy level: Medium Reaction to new people: Friendly Kid friendly: Loves kids!!! Training: Knows sit, paw, lay-down Normal husky coat which will require regular brushing. You should aim for once a week or so, and more when he is blowing his coat, typically twice a year. Fence: Strong tie-out recommended. He is an escape artist (can climb fences, and flip up gate latches) Solo or siblings: Requires a sibling, was adopted as a solo dog and was anxious, Just wasn't the right environment for him. From the foster: Need a snuggle buddy? Teddy is the one to keep you cozy at night and "aaaoooohhh" sweet nothings. Teddy gets along best with female dogs, and will take redirection well from dogs and humans. He tends to jump when greeting people and likes to counter surf. Teddy paces to let you know he needs to get business done, but has had a couple of accidents. He enjoys walking nicely on the leash (not pulling too hard), followed by cuddles on the couch with his foster and the kids, nudging them for pets. Teddy does have some separation anxiety when home alone. Shared walls/apartment living would not be a good fit as he can be noisy at times, he is getting better and many times will go lay in his crate by choice when we are home. He recently started having free roam at night and has been doing really good with the additional freedom in the house.
