Story
A portion of Daisy's adoption fee has been sponsored by her friends at The Murray Fund. Hi I'm Daisy! From the Foster: Daisy is one of the most incredible dogs I have ever known. Anyone would be lucky to have her in their life, and in the right environment, Daisy shines more than any dog I have ever known. The key for Daisy is to set her up for success, and the right environment is going to be the first step. Daisy is a typical husky when it comes to her hilarious personality, intelligence and vocal nature. She also loves to sing the songs of her ancestors and bring out her stubborn side, especially when asked to come inside in the middle of a snowstorm. Daisy has some anxiety and reactivity to noises, commotion, and other dogs. Living in a quieter environment will be key to helping her have a more relaxed approach to daily life and not have all the noises of things like city life right outside her door, making her on high alert. This means no shared walls for sure, and a space that is a bit more private. A private fenced-in yard? A more rural home without close neighbors? Some land she can sniff and explore? Yes!! This would be Daisy's dream :). Daisy is also dog selective. This means she needs to decide which dogs she wants to be friends with, allowing the proper time and space to do so. She won't be a dog park kind of dog, or a social butterfly at dog-friendly breweries, etc. She prefers male dogs, has bonded very well with previous male puppies we've fostered, and is the best of friends with my male husky mix. She is not cat friendly, so a home without cats is ideal. I would love to see Daisy with an adopter who understands her needs when it comes to her reactivity and anxiety; someone who is open to continuing to help her with training, but who also understands that this is part of who Daisy is. She's a wonderful girl and has come so far while with me, and I'm sure will continue to improve in lessening her anxiety and reactivity. Daisy would love an active family who wants to do all the things with their doggy BFF like hiking trails, checking out camping sites, and going for runs in the snow. She would love to try skijoring, bikejoring, canicross, agility, etc. It takes a little extra planning to do all these things in a place where she can be more comfortable and not surrounded by a lot of other people and dogs, but that little extra planning is so worth it!! Daisy's favorite moments are when she's outside in a private environment where she can feel safe and at peace. She is a frequent visitor of SniffSpots and other spaces she can enjoy by herself or with her foster brother. To sum it up, Daisy needs someone who is open to meeting her where she is at, and someone who sees and truly believes that Daisy is worth it because she really is. Daisy will change your life for the better if you let her. The adoption fee sponsorship credit of $200.00 will be applied during the contract process!

Story
Hi, my name is Jacob and I was an owner surrender. From the foster: We are Jacobs second foster family, his first foster had this to say " Jacob is a happy, handsome Husky with calm energy. I describe it as calm energy because it is different than puppy energy. He will talk to you in his low husky voice to say good morning, tell you he his hungry or when he sees the leash come out because he is excited to go and explore. He loves to spend time in the backyard and play with our neighbor's dog. He lives with our 6 year old cattle dog and my 11 and 13 year old. Jacob likes to be pet, brushed, and snuggle while watching TV. Sometimes he will fetch, but it seems to be on his terms. I noticed that he likes to bury his toys in blankets which is super cute. I have enjoyed getting to know this husky breed, sometimes he seems so human. He even tried to keep the kids from jumping in the pool by putting his arms around them. While Jacob is 6, it does not appear that he had been taught basic obedience. He is a very good boy considering the lack of training. He rarely barks, he only jumps up when he sees the leash, and has not shown any leash aggression. He may get excited to see another dog, but it is not aggression. Jacob will pull on a leash until he gets more energy out and then he will settle in. He will require a fenced yard and training for owner and Jacob to be the best they can be together." Our update: In the time that Jacob has been with us he has not had any accidents in the house, though he did mark his favorite bed once. He loves wrestling with our two year old malamute and the two of them will play for hours. Jake does have a little bit of the typical husky mischief making and stubbornness. We have been working hard on his obedience which is improving quickly. As well he has been crated at night and during the day when we are away. While he does not like his crate, he protests less every day and generally quiets down after a few minutes. Jacob is a great companion and a joy to spend time with. Jacob has been taking an anti anxiety medication through his transition to our home. Our impression is that he is fearful of being left alone and the medication helps him relax in his crate when we have to leave him. The hope is that once he is more comfortable with his crate and settling into a forever home that he would no longer need this medication.

Story
Buddy is a wonderful Happy Go Lucky Giant Puppy! He loves all people and other dogs and craves love and attention. Buddy was surrendered to a shelter when his owner fell sick. We believe the previous owner did not have much time to work with Buddy. While Buddy has a great disposition he needs some guidance , structure and manners! Buddy is a playful energetic pup who is looking for a family that will match his energy. He loves walks, runs and playing with other dogs. He will need a family willing to work with him and be consistent helping to teach him some manners. He has only been in rescue a week but is learning quickly how to behave and we are confident with more time and commitment he will only continue to learn to grow. While Buddy loves people and other dogs, his one fault being a little too much. Buddy loves to jump and hump as an outlet for his excitement. He can also get so excited he becomes a bit mouthy so for this reason would do best with families with either no children or older children. These two behaviors have improved so much in just one week, he is a very smart dog. A playmate that matches his playstyle and loves to play would be wonderful for Buddy as he is a great playmate, both respectful and submissive. If his adoptive family does not have another dog in the home that is certainly ok but it will be very important Buddy has a family who is willing to spend the time working with and exercising him!
