Story
Meet Boone! Boone is a stunningly gorgeous Lab/Golden/Hound blend, that is 11 months old and weighs 65 pounds. Sadly, Boone was left abandoned at a Vet Clinic after being kept in a crate for well over 12 hours up to 24 hours a day most of his life. Boone is a really good boy, loving with no meanness just can’t be kept locked up in crates or kennels for any length of time. He does have energy but it’s nothing we haven’t seen with labs before, just requires plenty of exercise with consistency. He is housebroken and crate trained but prefers not to be in one. He loves running around in a backyard and will require a fenced-in yard where he can sunbathe and enjoy playtime. Boone is still young, so he needs someone willing to work with him and give him the training he requires. We do the best we can to get them started. Boone is fine with other dogs, but would prefer to be the only dog getting all the undivided attention attention. Boone needs an active family, one with a stay-at-home or work-from-home individual, a teenager to be best friends with who enjoys having their dog with them most days to pal around with. Boone deserves a family that understands dogs, has had them and understands the need to nurture, love, and train to be the best they can be. Boone is extremely loving and very affectionate. To adopt Boone please go to our website to start the adoption process by completing our pre-adoption application https://www.southernskiesrescue.org/adoption-application Boone is fully medically vetted; neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm tested negative placed on prevention plus will be microchipped.

Elias is just a happy boy who loves to hangout and play with his foster siblings. He always has something on his mind, and expresses his thoughts by bringing you a toy and grunting. He loves attention, but also enjoys a good nap as much as the next person.

Story
Oh, my goodness!  How handsome can a boy dog be?  Meet Monty, a 5 ½ year old mix of Golden Retriever and Chow who weighs 70 pounds, much of which is his very long golden and cream-colored coat.  It’s not only beautiful; it’s so fluffy that you could almost lose yourself when you snuggle your face in his neck.  And if you want to see a happy dog, watch how he reacts when you brush him!  Monty is one of a kind!  He’s silly and sweet. He is a very strong boy on walks, so his adopter should be experienced with large dogs.  Monty would be his happiest in a calm household, and he loves being outside so a fenced in backyard would great! Good with cats, Monte doesn’t get along  with other dogs or children. (MT, 9/10/22)(revised 3/9/24)    **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adopotion and Transport Fee (if needed):  $250.00April 28, 2024, 11:37 pm

Story
Meet Tarlington, a charming 10-month-old Golden Retriever mix! He wears a long golden and creme-colored coat. He is now 34 pounds but we expect him to mature to around 45 pounds. He gets along very well with other dogs. Tarlington's youth brings a playful spirit that radiates joy, filling every room with infectious energy. Tarlington also has a gentle, shy side. He may take a moment to warm up, but once he does, he showers you with love and affection. His sweet nature makes him the perfect companion, ready to bring happiness to any home. Adopting Tarlington means opening your heart to a young, lively, and loving friend who will make every day brighter! (ME, 4/12/2024)       **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $395 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.  April 28, 2024, 11:37 pm

Story
Meet Bowlen, a 2-year-old Golden Retriever mix who is full of curiosity and loves to explore his surroundings. He has a long golden coat and weighs 41 pounds but still has a little filling out to do. Bowlen is not just a pet, he's a companion, a confidante, and a friend. He is very friendly and loves other dogs, but we are unsure if he likes cats. One more thing we know for sure, though, is he desperately wants a wonderful family and home! Adopt Bowlen and let him fill your life with love!
