Available to foster or adopt!Breed: Golden Retriever X DOB: 3/2022 Gender: male Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: large Color(s): gold / white Description:***Needs a Foster Home***This dog is in need of a foster home as well as a permanent home. If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online foster application.Hi, I'm Smiley, a handsome Golden Retriever X rescued from a Salinas shelter where I was found as a stray. No one came to claim me and I was lucky enough to have many people follow through with their pledges to sponsor me so I could come into CARL's adoption program.I like toys and I'm very treat motivated. I'm very sweet meeting people, but I'm a big boy and tend to jump up a bit so although I haven't been around children, I would probably do best in a home with older bigger children. I don't really react to other dogs and I can walk in tandem with another dog, but I can be a bit testy in playgroups at the kennel so as a safety precaution I wear a muzzle. I hope it's not long before I'm a cherished member of a loving family. If you're interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application.*Thank you to all the people who are sponsoring this wonderful dog at the Burnice Kraemer Sanctuary and giving him the chance for a better life.June 21, 2024, 9:44 pm

Story
Cliff was saved from a rural shelter north of Los Angeles. He was a staff favorite and came in as a stray. He is great with everyone but he doesn’t know his size, so older kids might be best. His foster family said that he is extremely playful (not hyper-just a young, happy dog), affectionate and wants to be where you are. He is a GIANT lap dog!

Story
Meet our fun loving and adorable boy Splash! Splash is about a year old and currently weighs 28 pounds though we would like him to put on a few more pounds.  This very special boy came in with his 2 littermates when he was 4 months old and was quite a bit smaller.  Splash has a condition called HOD (Hypertrophic Osteodystrophy).  We have provided the very best of care and support for Splash as he worked through the early stages of HOD which is a condition that will typically affect dogs until they are 8 - 10 months of age.  He is doing really well as you can see by the pictures and videos, but he will want a home that will provide him with care and love should he have another flare up.   Splash is your typical puppy!  He loves to go on long walks, playing with his foster sister and most of all cuddling up with you.  He is also wonderful with young children so he could go to a home with lil ones.  He has excellent house manners and is potty-trained and crate-trained.  Splash is treat motivated and has learned many of the basics.  He is a very polite pup who really wants to please!  If you have room in your heart and home for our very special boy then Splash may be the pup for you! Fun fact: DNA test revealed Splash is 79% Golden Retriever! His HOD condition can cause dwarfism in dogs so he truly is a pocket Golden.
