Meet Tiger – A Sweet and Shy Pup Ready for His Forever Home! Meet Tiger - A Sweet and EXTREMELY Shy Pup Ready for His Forever Home With someone who will be patient and take the time to gain his confidence. He has not been around people and is very shy, but not aggressive in any way. Tiger is an adorable mixed-breed puppy with a gentle spirit and a playful heart. His mama, a Golden Retriever/Flat-Coated Retriever mix, was rescued from a high-kill shelter just in time, and Tiger was born safely after her rescue. We Assume his POP may be Dutch Shep because of Tiger's stunning coat pattern. While we don't know who dad was, Tiger has a beautiful, unique merle-patterned coat that makes him stand out from the crowd. This little guy may be shy at first, but we hope to find someone who can bring out his fun, smart, and affectionate personality thru LOVE and Patience. Tiger is a healthy pup who's growing fast and learning about the world one pawstep at a time. He's looking for a loving family that will give him the patience and care he needs to blossom. Adoption fee is $300. He's still too young to be neutered, so the adopter will need to complete that when he's old enough. Interested in giving Tiger a forever home? Email Alphadogpetrescue@yahoo.com to request an adoption application today! Last photo is Tiger's mom a pure retriever. Adoption fee is $300. Story
This is a bonded pair who will be adopted together. It is being adopted through Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue. To apply, go to https://scgrrescue.org/pets/mckinley-maximilian/ Meet McKinley & Maximilian — Double the Gold, Double the Love! Looking for two dogs who will love you endlessly, follow you everywhere, and make every day brighter? Meet McKinley and Maximilian, two golden-hearted brothers who define the term Velcro dogs! These petite Golden Retriever mixes are the ultimate lovebugs — affectionate, goofy, loyal, and happiest when they’re glued to their humans. These sweet boys have been through a lot of changes — from shelter life to boarding, to a home, and back again — but through it all, their spirits have stayed golden. They were once left outside for 10 hours a day, which just doesn’t suit dogs who live for companionship. McKinley and Max don’t want to be backyard dogs; they want to be family dogs — right beside you for movie nights, morning walks, and afternoon naps. Now in a foster home, they’re thriving indoors and soaking up all the love they can get. They’ve done beautifully with other dogs and even enjoy hanging out with older kids (tested for ages 7 and up). Both are young, smart, and food-motivated, so training has been a breeze — especially with their new Gentle Leaders, recommended by a behaviorist. They’re already showing great improvement on walks! These two are the perfect mix of playful and cuddly — they love a good game of fetch, but they’ll melt into you for snuggles afterward. McKinley and Max would be happiest in a home where someone is around most of the time and ready for double the affection (and maybe double the dog hair ). If you’ve been dreaming of loyal companions who will never let you feel lonely, these golden brothers are your guys. They’ll bring joy, laughter, and unconditional love to any home lucky enough to have them. Ready to meet your new shadows? Come fall in love with McKinley and Maximilian — we promise, it won’t take long!

Story
About Me  Hi, I’m Makai. I'm 2 years old, and I came to SCGRR last year after a good samaritan helped me get off the streets.   I’d been living with a person who struggled with addiction and had to learn to fend for myself.    Since coming to SCGRR I’ve learned how wonderful it is to be in a home with people, plenty of food and a warm bed.   I’ve been through a lot, and I’m still learning how to be the best dog I can be.    People tell me I’m a big boy weighing in at 90 pounds.   My people are working to give me training, but sometimes I forget how big I can be.   For this reason, I probably shouldn’t be in a house with young kids.   As I had to fight a bit on the streets, I’m not really fond of other dogs and really want to be your one and only.    In return, I will give tons of love and laughs, and probably even a bit of protection.   I love to be near my humans; it’s my favorite thing in the world. I like to greet new people, and I’m getting used to how nice it feels when they’re gentle with me.  I’m really good in the car, and I’m learning to walk on a leash in the yard.  At this point my trainer is recommending that I not going on walks out of the yard as I’m not very good at meeting other dogs. I like to play with bouncy balls.  I also sniff around the counters, but my humans have made sure I can’t find any tasty surprises there.  I really just want a quiet house to rest in and a yard of my own to play in.  My Ideal Home  I’m a big guy, so I need a yard where I can run around and play. I would do best in a home without  children, just because I’m still learning how to be gentle with my size and I’d never want to accidentally hurt anyone. I want to be your only one so please no other dogs, cats or animals.   If you have the patience to help me learn and grow, I promise to give you all the love and loyalty I have.  I would really benefit from continued training.  I just want to spend my life with my forever human. Will you be that person?  Want to Adopt me?  If you believe your home is the perfect match for me, please make sure you have first submitted an adoption application (https://scgrrescue.org/adoption-app/) and completed your home interview with a SCGRRescue Volunteer. Then, tell my personal representative (aka Rep), more about why we are a great match via email at scgrr.adopt@gmail.com   Please note:  We are only able to cover and adopt out to residents of Southern California.  Adoption fee:  $600.00 February 24, 2025, 10:20 am

Story
About Me  Guero, affectionately called “Hero” by his foster family, is a 9-year-old golden sweetheart who loves to be loved, and to be petted and played with, of course! Guero is not a Velcro dog, but he does follow and check-up on where everyone is at. He will choose to lay by your feet, or across the room or in the next room or by the open front door.  Guero may be shy at the beginning, but as he becomes more comfortable in his new home, his tail wagging increases, and he can easily be tempted to play with toys or climb up in your lap. He is also perfectly happy to keep all four on the floor with his head on your lap for his loving. He is such a sweet loving dog, and he tries so hard to please the people in his pack. He will give kisses in the face if allowed, but he responds well if he is told no and then gives sweet kisses and nibbles on ears instead!  Guero meets people and dogs well on walks. His fosters describe him as sweet, loving, gentle natured and social. He was raised with a small dog and plays well with his foster’s golden retriever. He does guard “space” demonstrated by barking at passersby outside the home and attempting to herd humans out of his space. He does respond positively to limiting the out of house stimuli. He also gives up the “space” easily to his pack leaders. Guero would do best with humans who are able to take control of the space in an alpha way and would benefit from ongoing training. He would love to be in a home with children, but best in a home where they can respect his space when needed.  Guero loves playing with stuffed toys and making them squeak but is not destructive. He is very attentive and waits patiently for his meals. He will get on the furniture if allowed, but he responds well if told no. He absolutely loves to go out on walks, which means he tends to get overly excited when putting on his harness, getting out the front door and down the driveway to the sidewalk. He eventually calms down within a few houses down the street, but it takes a bit of coaxing with treats and verbal cues and some patience and he’s calming a little quicker every day. He shows no adverse behavior if he does not go on walks every day. He seems very happy to chew on a nylabone, play with his stuffed animals or his tennis balls, or simply lay near his people. He also enjoys playing fetch in the backyard or just lying in the sun. Guero would benefit from additional training for walking on lead and preparing to go for a walk.  My Ideal Home  If you’re seeking a loving and devoted canine companion, who thrives in an environment with only a few people coming and going, I’m the perfect dog for you. I love being with my people, I am willing and able to work around your schedule. I would be good in a home with children and other dogs, but I could also be happy as a single dog in the home. I would love a home with a backyard to run and play in as well as sunbathe, and daily walks or runs would be appreciated!  My ideal home would be with anyone who is patient and willing to work with me. I want to learn and be the best that I can be for you. With your commitment to my training, I will flourish and bring endless joy to your life!  Adoption Fee:  $400.00  Want to Adopt me?  If you believe your home is the perfect match for Guero, please make sure you have first submitted a general adoption application and completed your home interview with a SCGRRescue Volunteer.
