Story
Hi, Lady is a medium sized, golden retriever of nearly six years of age. She is a good girl, I have not had the time and energy recently after having my two year old son, and being subject to multiple military moves, to give her the attention she deserves. I think she would be happiest in a home with no other animals, though she has lived with another golden and three cats before and got along well with them all. She is also extremely gentle with my son. She is from the Pacific northwest, and the move made her extremely anxious. I fear she will not handle another move well. I'd love for her to retire to a home that is stable and will dote on her.

Story
Meet Six!  He came to us after spending six months on a hill after escaping the shelter where he was housed.  Two months prior, he had been relinquised by a family reporting his primary peson for his first four years of life had passed away.  He was confused, scared and took off while on a walk with a volunteer.  With no sightings for months it was assumed he was gone forever until that first call came in of a dog needing help.  Six had taken up residence in the rough terrain of a college campus hillside where he could avoid the high traffic area with cars and people, he could stay hidden and come and go without being noticed.  Once trapped and identfied as the dog assumed gone forever we planned a way to make space so his shelter days were over and his rehab could begin. Six came to us clearly having had human experiences.  He knew Sit, Shake and once feeling safe welcomed touch, affection and even liked to lean.  Unfortunately due to a lack of life exposure before his shelter expeerience, trauma from six months on his own in survival mode or a combination of both Six struggled with anything beyond a calm and controlled environment.  He has spent the last few months working on his confidence and now enjoys his outings and is on the regular list of participants for pack walks and adoption events.  He LOVES food, is eager to please (or always seeks to not do wrong) and learns quickly with a calm approach.  He still struggles with meeing new men but once sure he is safe lets them completely in.  Don't let his age fool you.  He still acts lke he's two and looks forward to every opportunity to be the center of attention, play with those around him and avoids conflict with other dogs. He is now ready to graduate to a foster or foster to adopt home where he can refresh his real life skills rather than continue in a kennel setting.  He would do best with a neutral and balanced dog.  Due to his confidence building older children would be best.  He is an extreme flight risk so someone as committed to his safety as loving. him is a must.  Because of my Flight Risk I cannot be left unattended in a yard, crate training is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash is a must on adventures and my new family must be aware of open doors and windows.  No off leash activites for life in unfenced areas.  I need to stay safe.  Are you ready to help me land my forever? ##1958533##

Story
He’s a sweet young pup still who has learned a lot. Properly crate trained. However he is a young pup going into teenage behavior so although he’s house trained if left unattended he will pee the floor out of rebellious behavior. Shots up to date. Microchipped. Gets along well with other dogs , and cats (has a lot of patience) and great with kids. He’s still got a lot to learn but he is a good boy. Sweet and beautiful. Sad to let him go but I hope he finds his forever home who can still contact me with progress or growth pictures. He’s still has to get neutered. Any questions feel free to contact me at my personal phone number (xxx) xxx-xxxx .

He still needs some work on jumping up and not resource guarding. We are going to say he would do best with older consider kids because he is very mouthy. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Foster or Forever Home Wanted!!!! Meet Sunflower!!!! Sunflower came to us from a bad situation, being passed around on various social media sites to people who were not ready to commit to loving and caring for a dog.  When we were alerted to Sunflower’s situation we stepped in and rescued her to insure she finds a real family this time around.  Sunflower is understandably a tad shy with new people and recovering from kennel cough at our vet.  But Sunflower is a sweet girl who wants a real family to love and trust.  Sunflower is a petite lab golden mix about a year old and in the 50 pound range.   Sunflower is looking for a family that will give her some patience, training, consistency and structure to help her become the best girl possible.  If Sunflower sounds like the dog your family can commit to, email dogs@labradorsandfriends.org or fill out our online application at www.labradorsandfriends.org  Sunflower is located in Southern California.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 25, 2024, 4:40 pm
