Story
Hi, I’m Birdie, a beautiful 11-month-old Golden Retriever puppy who weighs 20 pounds.   I’m nervous and shy when I meet new people, but I warm up as trust builds.  I’m a curious pup who is looking for a loving, patient person or persons who can give me a safe place to learn about this big world. General Behavior: Birdie is an affectionate, playful pup though she is shy when she first meets you.  She’s an independent girl, fine doing her own thing in a safe place.  Likes & Dislikes: Birdie loves toys, the more, the better!  She does not like thunderstorms or car rides, but she’s learning to adapt.  She can sleep in a dog bed or the people bed at night. Training: Birdie is still a puppy and is just learning how to navigate the world.  She needs additional training in leash walking and basic commands. Medical: Birdie will need to continue on a high-calorie puppy food for a few more months until she gains more weight.  Otherwise, she just needs her heartworm and flea/tick preventive medicines, like any pup. Other Animals: This sweet girl is good with dogs of all sizes and would likely do well with a canine companion who can help her learn how to be a dog.  She hasn’t been tested with cats yet. Children: Birdie is nervous around children and would do best in a home with adults only. Home: Birdie will thrive in a home with a secure, fenced-in yard where she can safely explore the world. She can be left alone in a secure place in the home for several hours without issues. Grooming: Like all Golden Retrievers, Birdie is a shedder!  She will need regular grooming, baths, and brushing to look and feel her best. Overall: If you are looking for a smart, affectionate, loyal pup who just needs a little extra love and patience to learn to feel safe in the world, Birdie may be the one for you. Are you the one for Birdie?  Then visit our website at www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. She is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption donation is $575. ##2356750##

Story
Hello!  My name is Bogey.  I’m an 11-month-old Golden Retriever boy who weighs 30 lbs.  I’m working very hard at getting familiar with being part of a human family.  My foster family says that I’m an affectionate and goofy boy.  I'm hoping to find my forever home where I can be loved and can learn more about this great big world.  Since I’m still a puppy, I just ask that we take things slowly, or in “baby steps”. General Behavior: Bogey is a mix of laid back and “chill” and active.  He is gentle, quiet and shy, but he also can be playful when he does his outdoor zoomies (even in the rain or through the sprinklers).  He also likes to give kisses.   He does have some anxiety when meeting new people or in new settings, but we know his confidence is growing each and every day. Likes & Dislikes: Bogey LOVES his hard chew treats and will happily lie on the couch with them.  He loves being outside playing but is equally happy lying on the couch watching his human. Training: Bogey has mastered house training in his foster home and even whines if he needs to go potty outside.  He will need a patient human who can work with him on leash walking and on basic manners.  Medical:  Bogey is a healthy boy and just needs monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative, like any other dog.  Bogey will need to continue on a high-calorie puppy food for a few more months until he gains more weight.  Other Animals: Bogey came to Poodle and Pooch with many siblings so is used to other dogs his own size.  We think he would thrive with an older or confident canine friend in his new home who could teach him “all things dog”.  He also has been living with 4 cats in his foster home and has no issue with them.  Children: Because of Bogey’s nervousness, he would do best in a home with no small children.  Teens who can respect his shyness and not overwhelm him, or an adult-only home would be suitable for him. Home:  Bogey would do best in a single-family home with a fenced yard.  He loves to be outdoors and since he has not yet mastered the leash, it would be best to have a secure yard.  A quieter home where someone is home more often than not would be ideal for him.  When home alone, he is comfortable in a secure spot.  At night, he loves to sleep in the “big person” bed.  Grooming: Beautiful Bogey will need regular hair brushing and baths . . . two things he doesn’t mind at all.  That, along with occasional nail trims will keep this boy looking his absolute best.   Overall: Bogey will be sure to bring love and laughs to your life.  With a committed and patient owner, the sky’s the limit for this guy! Are you the one for Bogey? Then visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You will be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it is a potential match. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered.  His adoption donation is $575. ##2356747##
