Story
Edith is a super sweet girl who is dog friendly and loves people. She is houstrained and walks great on a leash. Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM. All adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, and spay or neuter, microchip, and adoption packet. Fees:Dogs over 6 months old: $100Puppies under 6 months: $200. Cats and Kittens are $75 ($65 without microchip). For your convenience you can fill out an adoption application for any of our current residents at www.moaspets.com. Join us on Facebook athttps://www.facebook.com/moaspets. It's a great way to stay up to the minute on the furry 4 legged friends we have looking for a loving forever home. We are located at:1888 Colbert Danielsville Rd Danielsville, GA 30633 706-795-2868NOTE: Our adoptions are first come first served, simply filling out an application does not mean the animal will be held for you, you must come meet the animal in person in order to be considered for adoption. If you rent you must bring your lease or a letter from your landlord stating you may adopt.

Story
Loki is a very loving, loyal, and energetic couch potato that was rescued by a friend along side his brother Thor abandoned in Dallas, Texas. He came into our lives shortly after and got him neutered and brought him and his brother back to health and given them all the love and affection possible. We estimate Loki is about 2 years old given size and teeth. He would highly desire to stay with his brother in an active household that is ready to finish training that has been started and give him the activity he thrives on. He is quite demanding with the belly rubs all the time and is a great cuddle bug.

Story
Thor is a very curious, loving, loyal, and energetic couch potato that is always watching all the critters outside that was rescued by a friend along side his brother Loki abandoned in Dallas, Texas. He came into our lives shortly after and got him neutered and brought him and his brother back to health and given them all the love and affection possible. We estimate Thor is about 2 years old given size and teeth. He would highly desire to continue to be in an active household that is ready to finish training that has been started and give him the activity he thrives on. He desires some dedicated training time to get better reacting to cats/dogs/animals outside. He has lived with two cats but can still get overly excited sometimes.

Apply here: http://athenscaninerescue.com/adoption-procedures/ PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING. PLEASE NOTE THAT DALLY CANNOT HAVE "FREE" ACCESS TO ANY SOURCES OF FOOD OR WATER. Welcome Dally! This beautiful girl was little more than skin and bones when she joined our program, but now she’s a “giant goober” (per foster mom; and yes, that’s the technical term, of course) who is loving life and living it to the fullest. Dally has mega esophagus, which means that without the help of gravity and some time spent upright after eating or drinking, she will regurgitate anything she consumes. We’ve got her outfitted with a special throne (okay, chair, whatever) for mealtimes now and she has steadily gained weight and is learning how to be a dog. (She also likes to put herself into the chair anytime she thinks she should get a snack. Hey, Mom. Mom! Mom! I’m in the chair! Feed me!!) She gets medication twice a day and needs to use her chair for meals, but other than that, she’s healthy and and a typically developing dog. At just over a year and technically still a puppy, Dally has proven to be smart and quick to learn the rules! She is fully housebroken, keeps her crate clean all night long, and will reliably “sit” or “leave it” upon command. Dally lives with humans of all ages, other dogs, cats, and has been around farm animals. No worries, she loves them all! Everyone is very exciting and a potential new BFF. She is still learning her own size and how to calm down, so while she loves everyone and everything, her exuberance could be a touch overwhelming for other small creatures. Currently she is learning to listen to the corrections of the cats in her household, because although they’re super fun to chase, sometimes they would like her to stop. Again, she’s still young, so we expect with consistent training she will settle down a bit. Foster mom describes Dally as the perfect combination of loving everyone yet not being needy or clingy. Do you want to play with her? Right on! Just want her to settle down a bit? She’s happy to just snuggle in nearby. She “talks” to her humans, using a variety of sounds that are hilarious. Dally is down for new adventures and Netflix binges, alike. Currently she enjoys a couple of short walks each day. She will not be well-suited to super long excursions, especially in warmer weather, as dehydration is a concern (and taking her chair on a hike would be… awkward). But she’s ready to meet new friends, explore new toys, and says that sometimes slowing down a bit is how you savor the good stuff. Don’t dilly-dally; contact us today about meeting Dally! If you’d like to be considered to adopt, the first step in the process is to submit an application through our website: http://athenscaninerescue.com/adoption-procedures/. Our adoption fee is $250 per dog over the age of 6 months and $300 per dog 6 months or younger. We accept payment by Venmo, PayPal, or card. This includes: basic vet care (i.e. basic vaccinations, including boosters completed after adoption, spay/neuter, heartworm/flea preventatives, and treatment for any health needs while in our care), a microchip, a week’s worth of food for the trial-period, and a harness lead. All in state applications will be considered with some preference given to more local applications. WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING OUT OF STATE APPLICATIONS FOR DOGS SIX MONTHS OR YOUNGER. We do not have a facility and operate through a network of foster homes. Thus, we do not have a phone number. If you’d like to discuss potential adoptions, please email at adopt@athenscaninerescue.com.

Story
Meet Sasha! Sasha is a total lovebug and oh so sweet. She loves playing with her plushies, chasing a ball, giving kisses, and rolling in the grass. She also enjoys afternoon naps and a laid-back lifestyle. Sasha walks well on a leash and wants to please.  Sasha was found a few months ago by wonderful & caring family. It’s believed she was dumped on their road as her family was never found and she was not chipped. Poor girl was severely malnourished, weak and very shy/submissive. Today Sasha is healthy, confident, beautiful, happy. smart and ready for her forever family. She is up to date on vaccinations, spayed and has a microchip. She is good with other dogs and has not been tested with cats. She currently resides with her foster parents and their animals on about 3 acres with a fenced in yard. They have 3 other dogs that just adore her, she is defientely the center of attention and friendly to everyone she meets. A fenced backyard is a must. We don’t think Sasha was allowed in the house in her previous life and may have had free roam of a yard. Sasha is a good dog and going to make a terrific companion for someone that doesn’t mind putting in a little work. She is definitely worth it!! ##2034245##
